a dime a dozen....

On February 8, 2023, during a whirlwind visit by the Ukrainian president to Paris, Emmanuel Macron awarded the Legion of Honor to Volodymyr Zelensky, thus permanently dishonouring France.

After having done nothing to ensure that Ukraine respects the minsk agreements, after having supplied endless weapons to kyiv so that it could continue to massacre civilians in Donbass, after encouraging Zelensky in his suicidal madness by denying that Russia could win this war, in effect pushing Ukraine to send all of its men to be slaughtered for nothing (because Moscow will win this war, even US military experts say so) instead of pushing her to sit down at the negotiating table, Emmanuel Macron has just awarded his Ukrainian counterpart the Legion of Honor, thus ending up totally dishonouring France.

We must believe that it was not enough for Emmanuel Macron to discredit French diplomacy by his inaction as guarantor of the Minsk agreements, to sully the honor of the Nation by supporting a country which glorifies the collaborators of the Nazis and the battalions current Ukrainian neo-Nazis, to strip the French army of its weapons so that the Ukrainian army can use them to kill innocent civilians (or resell them on the black market to enrich a few corrupt Ukrainians), thus bringing shame on France , he had to go as far as supreme dishonor, by decorating Zelensky with the Legion of Honor.

I know that this decoration is no more than a shadow of what it was for a long time, and that Macron, like his predecessors, distributes it to anyone and everyone, but there it goes beyond the limits. I remind you that Napoleon Bonaparte had created this decoration, to reward those (civilian or military) who had rendered eminent services to France!

What eminent services has Zelensky rendered to France apart from making it a co-belligerent in its war against Donbass and Russia? Pushing Paris to strip its army, making France easy prey for any serious military power, is it doing it a service? Provoking the destruction of the French economy with stupid sanctions against Russia is doing France a service? Is risking dragging France into mutual nuclear annihilation with Russia all for a conflict that has nothing to do with the country's interests? Bringing France to support a country that glorifies the Ukrainian collaborators of the Nazis is rendering eminent service to the country?

France had already dishonored itself by giving the Legion of Honor to dictators, but here we have hit rock bottom. Mr Macron, you are by far the worst French president in the entire history of the Fifth Republic, and I even think that you can be awarded the title for the entire history of the French Republic! You have dared to give the Legion of Honor to a President who glorifies Stepan Bandera (Ukrainian collaborator of the Nazis, whose men, among other things, massacred Jews and Polish civilians) and his ideological descendants like the Azov regiment (extremist organization banned in Russia)! Why not give it posthumously to Hitler while you're at it? Mr Macron, by awarding the Legion of Honor to Zelensky you have totally dishonored France and the position you hold!

BY Sylvie Kauffmann

Like Germany, Frances faces the failure of its policy of dialog with Russia and must hold a real debate on the subject, writes 'Le Monde' columnist Sylvie Kauffmann.

At the turn of the 2000s, as Vladimir Putin succeeded Boris Yeltsin as the leader of a Russia plunged into chaos, a question was much on the minds of American foreign policy think tanks: "Who lost Russia?"

Entire seminars, congressional hearings and books were devoted to the question in an attempt to understand whether the West had indeed missed an opportunity to bring the great country that emerged from the collapse of the Soviet Union into the community of democratic states and the international order. What mistakes we made, what signals we ignored, what other policies were possible and what lessons existed for the future were all worthy questions.

Germany has now been engaged in this introspective debate for almost a year, ever since Russia decided to wage war on Ukraine. Three days after the invasion of Ukraine, on a Sunday, Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke to the Bundestag about the "new era" ("Zeitenwende") precipitated by the major shock of the return of war in Europe. The country has since been adjusting to this new era, which has shattered several pillars of its foreign policy, including dependence on Russian gas, underinvestment in defense and the reluctance to deliver weapons to countries at war.

Angela Merkel criticized

These policy choices are being questioned, analyzed and challenged in Germany's parliament, media, political parties and research institutes. Likewise, economic ties with China are also under renewed scrutiny. The President of the Federal Republic, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, foreign minister for many years, has publicly acknowledged the errors of his Russian policy. His Social Democratic Party, also that of Chancellor Scholz, has undertaken a difficult revision of its diplomatic and security doctrine.

AS GERMANY IS RETURNING TO ITS NATIONALIST NAZI ROOTS SLOWLY (RAPIDLY), WITH SCHOLZ SUPPORTING NAZI UKRAINE (SEE ALL THE ARTICLES ON NAZI UKRAINE ON THIS SITE), THE QUESTION ISN’T “WHO LOST RUSSIA?” BUT WHO WON RUSSIA?

The community of democratic states and the international order” IS A BUNCH OF FASCIST THIEVES — FORMER (UK, FRANCE, MOST WESTERN COUNTRIES OF EUROPE) AND NEW (THE AMERICAN EMPIRE) COLONIALISTS. COLONIALISM HAS CHANGED FLAVOURS BUT IT’S STILL BASED ON CONTROL OF COUNTRIES WITH GOLDEN SHOWERS OF ALREADY USELESS INDEBTED CASH (US DEFICIT), WHILE ROBBING THEM BLIND.

BACK IN THE LATE 1990s, THE AMERICAN EMPIRE WAS GLOATING OF BEING THE ONLY WORLD POWER LEFT AT THE END OF THE COLD WAR (WHICH WAS ONLY A VERY TEMPORARY THAW). BY THEN, IT HAD ALREADY INFILTRATED THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY WITH PHONEY CIA BANKS AND WAS PREPARING TO COLLAPSE RUSSIA INTO A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY.

THIS WAS NOT THE FUTURE THAT MOST RUSSIANS EXPECTED FROM “CAPITALISM”.

AMERICAN CAPITALISM WAS ROBBING THEM BLIND.

ENTERS A SMART COOKIE. PUTIN.

PUTIN IS A RUSSIAN NATIONALIST. HE IS AN EXPERT ON WESTERN DECEIT. IF YOU DON’T KNOW THIS, IT’S BECAUSE YOU USE YOUR ARSEHOLE AS A VISION DEVICE.

WHY IS PUTIN AN EXPERT ON SUCH? HE’S A LITTLE UNDERLING IN THE KGB, “DOING CLIPPINGS”…. AS EXPLAINED MANY TIMES ON THIS SITE, IF YOU ARE A JOURNALIST WHO RESPECTS THE FLOW OF INFORMATION ABOUT ANY SUBJECT YOU WANT TO REPORT ON, YOU COLLECT CLIPPINGS OF NEWSPAPERS ON THE SAID SUBJECTS. SOON YOU CAN SEE THROUGH THE CONTRADICTIONS, THE BULLSHIT AND THE PROPAGANDA OR THE SORRY STATE OF THINGS.

AS WELL, YOUR EMPLOYER IS THE KGB, AN EXPERT IN DECEIT AND COUNTER-DECEIT LIKE THE CIA. CLEVER PEOPLE (ON THE WAY OUT THROUGH CHANGE OF THE GUARD) RECOGNISE YOUR IMMENSE SKILLS AND SEE YOU AS A POSSIBLE SAVIOUR.

BEYOND THIS, YOU ARE ALSO AN AVID STUDENT OF HISTORY FROM ALL ITS ANGLES. YOU KNOW THE SACRIFICES THAT RUSSIANS MADE TO WIN WW2…

YOU SPEAK THE LANGUAGES OF YOUR “OPPONENTS” WITH PERFECTION, SO YOU KNOW THE NUANCES OF THE DIALOGUES USED TO DECEIVE YOU.

FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS, PUTIN HAS REBUILT RUSSIA FROM THE ASHES OF THE DOWNFALL OF THE USSR, WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT. IT WAS NOT AN EASY TASK, WITH SOME LOONIES TRYING TO TAKE YOU (PUTIN) DOWN ALL THE TIME.

THE WEST “DID NOT LOOSE” RUSSIA. PUTIN PREVENTED RUSSIA TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THE GREEDY AND THE BULLSHITTERS. DOING THIS DEMANDED AND STILL DEMANDS SKILLS OF UNDERSTANDING NEARLY EVERYTHING AT ALL LEVELS.

BRIEFED BY HIS MENTORS, INCLUDING THE MAYOR OF ST PETERSBURG, THE YOUNG VLADIMIR HAD TO MAKE DEALS WHILE FIGHTING THE RUTHLESS FOREIGNERS AT THEIR OWN GAMES AND THE LOCAL ROBBER BARONS. HE EVENTUALLY WON THE BATTLES. SMARTLY.

MEANWHILE THE AMERICAN EMPIRE, CONTROLLED AND RUN BY THE PENTAGON, WITH ITS SUCCESSIVE PRESIDENTIAL PUPPETS IN THE WHITE HOUSE, HAS BEEN TRYING HARD TO KICK PUTIN IN THE NUTS.

NO SUCCESS SO FAR. VLADIMIR PUTIN COULD BE ON THE WAY TO BECOME THE LONGEVITY REPRESENTATIVE OF RUSSIAN MIGHT — LIKE CASTRO WAS TO CUBA.

NOW, RUSSIA’S MIGHT (144 MILLION PEOPLE) IS EQUAL TO, OR SUPERIOR TO, THE AMERICAN EMPIRE, INCLUDING ALL OF NATO (ONE BILLION PEOPLE).

AS WELL, YOUNG VLADIMIR IS ALWAYS THREE TO FOUR MOVES AHEAD OF THE NEXT AMERICAN CRAP. HE KNEW UKRAINE WAS A TRAP. BUT HE HAD LITTLE CHOICE, AND UNLIKE THE AFGHANISTAN TRAP, WHICH SUNK MUCH OF RUSSIA’S EFFORT AND RESOURCES, PUTIN KNOWS HOW FAR HE CAN PUSH HIS OWN COUNTER-TRAP

PRESENTLY EUROPE IS INSIDE THE TRAP, SWIMMING IN ITS OWN CACA, WHILE PUTIN MAKES DEALS WITH OTHER COUNTRIES SUCH AS CHINA, INDIA, BRAZIL, SOUTH AFRICA, AND MANY MORE, WITHOUT PAYING MUCH ATTENTION TO THE UKRAINIAN SITUATION — AS IF IT WAS A SIDE ISSUE — TO BUILD A WORLD VOID OF THE AMERICAN EMPIRE AND ITS POISON — THE DOLLAR. INFURIATING!!!!

SO MACRON IS STILL TRYING TO STAY RELEVANT, AND MAKES IDIOTIC PATRONISING STATEMENTS, PARROTED BY “LE MONDE”. IT’S EMBARRASSING. A MEDAL FOR ZELENSKY?? YEAH, WHY NOT… THIS WOULD BE APPLAUDED BY THE YANKEES, WHO ARE NOW NAKED.

PLEASE, MAKE A DECENT DEAL WITH PUTIN, NOW…..

YOU KNOW WHAT HE WANTS AND HE WON'T LET GO UNTIL HE GETS IT.

YOU, THE SMART AMERICANS HAVE FALLEN INTO YOUR OWN TRAP. ZELENSKY IS AN UNINTELLIGENT LITLE SHIT.

French President Emmanuel Macron has asked South African President Cyril Ramaphosa for an invitation to the upcoming BRICS summit in Pretoria, French newspaper L’Opinion reported on Monday. Macron’s recent attempts to win over his African counterparts have fallen flat.

He raised the possibility of attending the summit during a phone call with Ramaphosa earlier this month, L’Opinion stated, citing sources in the Elysee palace.

According to one “well-informed”source, Ramaphosa was non-committal. “Presence at this summit was mentioned during the conversation between the two leaders, but Pretoria gave no indication of whether or not to extend this meeting to other international leaders,” the source said.

If Macron were to attend the summit, he would be the first leader of a G7 nation to do so. BRICS leaders and Macron apparently share a desire to overhaul the global financial and geopolitical order, with Macron hosting a conference in Paris next week aimed at overhauling the financial system to better benefit the developing world. Ramaphosa is due to attend the conference, and a cordial meeting between him and Macron could set the stage for the French president to make history in Pretoria.

LOOKS LIKE MANU WANTS TO SPY ON THE BRICS

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Paris should explain why French President Emmanuel Macron wants to attend the South African-hosted top-level summit of BRICS, to which France is not a member state, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

"It would be nice if they [Macron's office] told why they want [to attend the summit]. Do they want to once again make some contact to show Paris' activity or is it a 'Trojan horse' of some sort — so let them explain," Zakharova told Radio Sputnik.

A comment should follow in particular from the French Presidency or whoever is delegated to represent France at the summit of the key emerging economies, the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman said.

"After all, we are talking about the organization to which they are in no way a member and toward which they have never even shown any politeness, let alone showing any good intentions or feelings," Zakharova added.

Egypt has officially applied to join BRICS, Russia’s ambassador in Cairo told reporters on Wednesday. The Arab Republic of nearly 100 million people would be a significant addition to the bloc of the largest developing economies that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Egypt is “very interested” in one of BRICS’ current initiatives, namely the bloc’s push to switch to alternative currencies in trade, be it one of the bloc’s national currencies or a new joint one, ambassador Georgy Borisenko told TASS news agency.

Egypt first voiced its intention to join BRICS last July, according to Purnima Anand, the President of the BRICS International Forum. In February, the country sent official letters to the bloc’s members expressing its interest in joining, something that Russia supports, according to ambassador Borisenko. Also in February, Egypt joined the New Development Bank, established by the group to fund infrastructure and sustainable development projects in emerging markets and developing countries.

About a dozen countries have so far applied to join BRICS, including Iran and Argentina. The bloc hopes to introduce a framework for admitting new members before the August summit in South Africa.

BRICS is pushing towards trade in national currencies and has begun efforts to establish a joint payment network to cut reliance on the Western financial system, and particularly on the dollar. It has been gaining traction since the West imposed economic sanctions against Russia over its military operation in Ukraine. As a result of the restrictions, Moscow was effectively cut off from the Western banking system and saw billions in its assets frozen or seized abroad.

According to Jim O’Neill, the former chairman of Goldman Sachs, and other experts, BRICS could in time and under certain circumstances challenge the status of the US dollar as the global reserve currency.

Some thoughts on the campaign for Missak Manouchian's entry into the Pantheon

“Missak Manouchian, when will the homeland be grateful? ". This is the title of an appeal launched, in two stages, in the daily Liberation, in January and February 2022. An appeal heard at the top of the State since President Macron will announce it this Sunday, June 18, 2023: Missak and Mélinée Manouchian will be pantheonised. The following text reacts to this initiative, which raises a real question: that of the "recognition" of a man, and around him of a group, and of a glorious somewhat long concealed history — but does so in singularly inadequate terms: "homeland" and "patriotism."

Better late than never, it is said, in terms of historical recognition — and this is what the very esteemed people who supported this initiative thought in spite of a more than dubious sponsorship committee and an argument that is problematic to say the least.

The problem posed is that it enlists Missak Manouchian, post mortem, in a republicanist catechism and a "love of France" that no historical fact attests, in defiance of what was his life, its ideals and its real motivations – which have been established and documented.

Historically inept, even regressive, the appeal text published on Monday January 21, 2022 in Liberation attempts to revive a myth that we thought was dead and buried thanks to six decades of historical research, that of a unanimously resistant France:

"78 years ago, therefore, died, for France, for the Republic, as "French at heart", as "French by the blood shed", as French by heroism and merit, those who had been arrested by the Special brigades of the police headquarters and handed over to the Germans. The latter tried to cover them with infamy by bringing them together on the "Red Poster" which, on the contrary, made them heroes in the eyes of the French."

The scandalous mystification in these lines is first of all the obliteration of all French guilt: this grotesque, and shamefully revisionist idea, according to which "the French", unanimously, resisted Nazi propaganda, felt in solidarity with the "terrorists" stigmatized by the "Red Poster", and even erected them as "heroes" - as if there hadn't been "good French people" wait-and-see, vichysts, xenophobes, anti-Semites, informers, collaborators, and as if all these fine people did not have much to do with the fate of the deportees and those who were shot.

There is indeed an occupied country where this type of massive resistance could exist, and where Jews could, a little more, be saved, this country is called Bulgaria, and not France.

The appeal text is based, to affirm that "the French" are united behind the Manouchian group, on a single and fragile source: a verse from Aragon, in his famous poem, according to which

“People went without eyes for you all day long

But at curfew time wandering fingers

Had written under your photos: Morts Pour La France”.

However, it should be noted firstly that "wandering fingers" cannot represent "the French" in their entirety, and secondly that, in any case, Aragon's story itself does not stand up very well to historical examination. As Laurent Lévy reminded us:

“It is difficult to say if what he evokes in this regard is a genuine memory, and if these “wandering fingers” really existed. But if it is perhaps here referring to a real fact, it is probable that the restitution which is made of it is not faithful: in March 1944, indeed, the resistant magazine to which Aragon already collaborated (and became the director after the war), Les Lettres Françaises, thus evoked the red poster: “On one of the posters, someone wrote in charcoal in capital letters this single word: MARTYRS. It is Paris's tribute to those who fought for freedom." Eleven years later, this expression, “martyrs”, has become “died for France”.

The other mystification is the equally crude way in which all the glory of the resistance fighters, including foreigners, is symbolically annexed to "France", again in defiance of historical reality, by means of pure and simple rhetorical force: the repetition, ad nauseam, of the words "France" and "French", attached to the evocation of the Manouchian group and its heroism. The said heroes become, through the magic of words, "French heroes", who died "for France, for the Republic", "French at heart", "French by the blood shed", "French by heroism and merit", all of this strung together in a single sentence, without explanation, without anyone knowing where these formulas devoid of any foundation come from, and where, above all, this courageous French essence comes from which makes one become "French" as soon as one is brave.

The height of the fraud: at the same time as any notion of resistance and heroism is fantasmatically "Frenchified", the text of the appeal erases all traces of Frenchness where it is, on the other hand, proven: on the side of the oppressors and killers. Because, finally: these “Special Brigades” which arrested our heroes were French, the “police prefecture” on which they depended was French, and it was therefore the French who “handed over to the Germans” Manouchian and his comrades.

What do we take us for? The simple, trivial, indisputable truth is that neither Manouchian nor his accomplices were French. That, if we take their commitment seriously, and the traces they left behind, it is for freedom and not for “France” that they died. And finally that it is not on improbable "values of the Republic" or "France of the Enlightenment" that they based their taste for freedom, their thirst for social equality and their sense of human solidarity, but in the name of a communist ideal, which was very significantly different then, and still is.

The swindle borders on revisionism: the sequence of the formulas "dead for France" and "French at heart", and the use of quotation marks each time, suggest that this was how Manouchian and his comrades state of mind  — and the rest of the text even affirms this, explicitly:

“The life of this standing man will merge with support for Armenians devastated by the genocide, the anti-fascist struggle and love for Republican France. It is for France, by proclaiming it, by affirming it, that he will die "as a regular soldier of the army of Liberation" of what had become his country, without ever confusing the collaborator regime of the one who was still Marshal Pétain and the France born of the Enlightenment, whose ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity were its beacons."

“Missak Manouchian must find his place in the Pantheon, for having been one of the finest examples of sacrifice, heroism, love of France, land of freedom and hope."

“Missak Manouchian and the other 22 convicts of the Red Poster trial died, “Twenty-three lovers to live to death / Twenty-three who cried France as they fell."

But then again, a lie repeated, even ad nauseam, does not become a truth. If "support for the Armenians devastated by the genocide" and "the anti-fascist struggle" are attested by many well-established historical facts, starting with the associative, union and political commitments of Missak Manouchian, in the Armenian community and in the International communist, on the other hand, nothing of the sort exists that could back up his “love of republican France”.

Nowhere, contrary to what is written, did Manouchian "proclaim" and "affirm" that he was dying "for Republican France". However, this is what is put forward, with the support of this semblance of proof: a very brief quotation, taken out of context, taken from the farewell letter addressed to his wife Mélinée, where Manouchian describes himself as a "regular soldier of the French Army of Liberation”. However, the striking fact, obvious when we read this letter attentively (and in its entirety), is precisely that Manouchian does not once invoke “patriotism”, “France” or “love of France” – at a time, however, when this register of speech is very popular within the Resistance.

Manouchian, in his letter, speaks of “freedom” and “peace” between “the peoples”:

I had joined the Liberation Army as a volunteer soldier and I am dying on the verge of Victory and the goal. Happiness to those who will survive us and taste the sweetness of Freedom and Peace of tomorrow. I am sure that the French people and all freedom fighters will be able to honor our memory with dignity. When I die, I proclaim that I have no hatred against the German people and against anyone, everyone will have what he deserves as a punishment and as a reward."

The German people and all other peoples will live in peace and brotherhood after the war which will not last long. Happiness to all..."

Manouchian says he is engaged in "the liberation army", without the adjective "French". This adjective only occurs, in extremis, once, at the end of the letter, in a very particular context. It is no longer a question of speaking, as he expressly did at the beginning of his letter, of the foundations of his commitment, and of what he is going to die for, but of saying goodbye to his wife Mélinée, of bequeathing to her his affairs, to give her her final advice, instructions and requests: that she live happily, that she remarry, that she have a child as she wanted... It is in this extremely pragmatic, concrete, material perspective, that Manouchian evokes for the first time the “French” and “regular” dimension of his commitment:

All my goods and all my belongings I bequeath to you, your sister and my nephews. After the war you will be able to claim your right to a war pension as my wife, because I am dying as a regular soldier in the French army of liberation."

We read correctly: far from any patriotic outpouring, from any "sacrifice" for an adored France, the purpose here is to ensure a decent future for his future widow. If these words tell us something about Manouchian's relationship with France, it is therefore rather, it seems to me, this: that we are dealing with someone who is picky about his rights, about what France owes him — in short: someone who has this protest “mentality” that our licensed republicanists, those of today as well as those of yesterday, never cease to vituperate.

As for the sublime vision of the twenty-three executed shouting "La France" as they descend, it is, no more and no less, a pure and simple invention of Aragon, whose character Laurent Lévy reminded everyone. dubious respects:

We will never know what the martyrs of the “group of foreigners” really said, shouted or sang. We know that the metalworker Jean-Pierre Timbaud died shouting “Long live the German Communist Party!” Others shouted “Long live Stalin!” Many “Vive la Liberté!” Some shot may well have shouted “La France!” falling down, but with regard to the foreigners of the Manouchian group, given what we know about them, their commitment, their reasons for being, given the very terms reported by Aragon from the letter at Mélinée, everything suggests that, if they were able to sing L'Internationale, it was not as a “French song”. "

So let's be clear: no, Missak Manouchian was not this good immigrant "emancipated thanks to the Republic" presented to us by the first text calling for his "pantheonisation", published in Liberation on January 14th.

No, he did not join the resistance out of “love of France”: he was a “WOG” – we said at the time “metic”, or “Levantine”, with the same grin of disgust. Resulting from this "clandestine immigration" which makes your nightmares, gentlemen pantheonisers.

Like his comrades in the FTP-MOI, Manouchian was a communist worker, union member of the CGT, fighting against the bosses, and not this "industrial Armenian" invented by the appeal of January 14, in a height of impudence, social paternalism and racial essentialism.

Far from the mythological and condescending "French integration" in which we want to enlist him post mortem, Missak Manouchian was an internationalist. He campaigned in France with his family – his class, but also his community – and he created the magazine Ջանք (Tchank) in his native language. Under the occupation, it organized itself as a “non-mixed” organization, without the French, within the FTP/MOI, Francs-Tireurs Partisans/Main d’Oeuvre Immigrée. In short: everything that our pantheonizers of today vomit up, under the name of “globalism”, “immigrationism”, “leftism”, “communitarianism” or “separatism”.

I am not against tributes and places of memory – far, very far from it. But not anyhow. So let's celebrate Manouchian and his family, let's do it a thousand times since they deserve it, but let's do it for what they really were— who deserves much more homage than this revamped Manouchian, icon factitious of a regressive and deadly political imagination.

I am sure that the French people and all freedom fighters will be able to honor our memory with dignity,” Missak Manouchian confided to his wife Mélinée in her farewell letter. He was not entirely mistaken: the work of history, memory and homage has existed for a long time, it has its own history, and it will continue, with dignity. Here, for example, by the voice of Charjoum. But in dignity, some revisionists are singularly lacking.
