Awarded 2024, expanded through 2025 until it ran nearly half of Renfe’s security, fifteen airports and three metro lines.

And Adif? The body that owns the track. The body that runs the signals. Its former president, Isabel Pardo de Vera…also ex-Secretary of State for Transport…sits on the advisory board of Cylus, an Israeli rail cybersecurity firm out of Tel Aviv. Cylus’s technology partner is Thales. Thales installs the signalling and protection systems for Adif.

Follow the chain. Israeli firm. French contractor. Spanish track. Sixty-eight bodies.

Then October 28. Los Yébenes and Urda. A Renfe AVE, 397 aboard, driven at full speed into the back of a stationary train. 68 dead. Spain’s worst rail disaster in thirteen years. Transport minister Óscar Puente calls the control-centre order “inexplicable.”

Audit the signalling and control systems with engineers who answer to nobody in Tel Aviv. Then audit again. And put it on the floor of the Cortes: did a state that had just threatened this country have its hands anywhere near the systems that killed 68 people?
