the jews hate the cradle of truth....

On 16 August, social media giant Meta permanently banned The Cradle from Facebook and Instagram. The outlet’s accounts on those platforms, which had amassed over a hundred thousand followers and millions of views, were unilaterally purged without warning or a chance to appeal.

Meta’s role in Israel’s digital proxy war on The Cradle

The banning of The Cradle from Facebook and Instagram shows a troubling alliance with Israeli-linked groups to silence voices critical of the occupation state, especially those media outlets covering its adversaries’ narratives.

BY Kit Klarenberg

Permabanned

The officially-stated grounds were purported violations of community guidelines for “praising terrorist organizations” through its reporting on the activities of West Asia’s resistance movements. Meta summarily informed The Cradle:

No one can see or find your account, and you can’t use it. All your information will be permanently deleted. You cannot request another review of this decision.

However, there are grounds to believe this crackdown was not merely a matter of community standards enforcement. Evidence suggests that Israeli intelligence-connected entities played a significant role in Meta’s decision to ban The Cradle, a dissenting, anti-Zionist news outlet reporting on the region, from the region.

This act of censorship will unlikely be the last against those who dare to expose the brutal realities of the war on Gaza and cover those resisting it.

There appears to be a disturbing alliance between Meta’s leadership and powerful Zionist organizations that identify targets for censorship, while Meta executives comply without question. Speaking to The Cradle, independent tech industry researcher Jack Poulson says:

Meta banning a news source such as The Cradle that is critical of Israel is less surprising when you consider their history. Beyond Meta’s head of Israel policy, Jordana Cutler, being a former chief of staff of Israel’s Minister of Strategic Affairs, and nearly his director general. Israeli government propaganda offshoot CyberWell is also a ‘trusted partner’ to Meta. In July, the organization helped influence Meta’s policy on criticism of Zionism.

Israeli involvement

In June, Poulson, alongside journalist Lee Fang, exposed CyberWell's part in a broader Israeli government effort, known as Voices of Israel, to shape and disseminate pro-Zionist narratives across the west.

Despite CyberWell’s denials of government funding or ties, the organization swiftly removed references to its founders, staff, and advisors from its website following these revelations.

Archival evidence reveals that many members of the non-profit’s “dynamic team” of “academics, retired generals, intelligence alumni, and innovative tech professionals” have deep ties to Israeli intelligence and military forces, such as US founder Tal-Or Cohen Montemayor, a former occupation soldier and intelligence professional.

Montemayor emigrated to Tel Aviv as a teenager, volunteering to serve in the occupation army as a “lone soldier.” She then entered the intelligence sphere via Israeli private intelligence firm Argyle Consulting.

There, Montemayor served under Zohar Gorgel, “a decorated IDF intelligence officer with over a decade of experience in various cyber and technology roles.” Together, “encouraged by colleagues and mentors,” they launched a project to “improve community standards” online. In other words, to neutralize Palestinian solidarity and condemnation of the Zionist entity.

Given the profusion of “former” occupation spooks and high-ranking military veterans in CyberWell’s ranks, one wonders whether the non-profit’s launch was pushed by malign elements within the Israeli government.

‘Call to action’

This suspicion is amply reinforced by the February 2021 report by Tel Aviv’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs, The Hate Factor. It outlined several strategies for “combating antisemitism online,” including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to identify and ban social media users from posting content critical of the occupation state.

Mere months later, CyberWell was founded, under the title Global Antisemitism Research Center, touting AI as its pièce de résistance. Instantly, the obscure non-profit began receiving sizable donations from well-connected Zionist lobby organizations.

CyberWell also quickly entered into high-level agreements with Israeli government-funded and directed influence operations, such as the notorious, now-defunct trolling and harassment unit Act-IL, which was run out of Tel Aviv’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For years, the hasbara outfit covertly encouraged Zionist activists to target boycotts and boycotters, justify the oppression and slaughter of Palestinians, and bully human rights groups and solidarity activists online. The effort shuttered without warning in 2022.

That same year, CyberWell’s annual report noted that it had “served as the data provider to Act-IL’s community for their end-of-year call to action on the state of online antisemitism.” This may provide some explanation for Act-IL’s closure.

Today, criticizing Zionists on Facebook and Instagram can result in permanent bans, a policy change reportedly enacted under pressure from CyberWell and other Zionist lobby groups. CyberWell is not only a “trusted partner” of Meta but also of TikTok and X, exerting influence to suppress content critical of Zionism across multiple platforms.

CyberWell already appears to have used its influence to compel TikTok to adopt similar guidelines on content related to Zionism as Meta. And there is no indication that the organization intends to stop there.

It has submitted formal guidance to Meta on censoring the Palestine solidarity phrase, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” – which Zionists falsely claim is a clarion call for the genocide of Jews – while publishing reports on purported “antisemitic disinformation” circulated during western election campaigns.

Given this context, it is almost certain that CyberWell had a hand in The Cradle’s abrupt removal from Meta’s platforms. Within hours, The Cradle’s accounts were banned, even those not directly linked or associated with any violations. Even a backup Instagram account, which hadn’t violated any of the platform’s guidelines, was taken down for being associated with the main account.

It appears that Meta was intent on erasing any trace of The Cradle from its social media universe, much to the likely satisfaction of officials in Tel Aviv.

‘Shadow banning’

Nonetheless, it must not be forgotten that Meta has a long and deplorable track record of systemic censorship of content related to Palestine. This suppression has only intensified since the Gaza genocide began.

December 2023 Human Rights Watch (HRW) report exposed how, over the past two months, Facebook had engaged in “over 1,050 takedowns and other suppression of content” on Facebook and Instagram “posted by Palestinians and their supporters, including about human rights abuses.”

Of this total, 1,049 “involved peaceful content in support of Palestine that was censored or otherwise unduly suppressed.” The documented cases included “content originating from over 60 countries around the world, primarily in English, all of peaceful support of Palestine, expressed in diverse ways.” Meanwhile, HRW “identified six key patterns of undue censorship.” This included:

Removal of posts, stories, and comments; suspension or permanent disabling of accounts; restrictions on the ability to engage with content; restrictions on the ability to follow or tag other accounts; restrictions on the use of certain features, such as Instagram/Facebook Live, monetization; and “shadow banning,” the significant decrease in the visibility of an individual’s posts, stories, or account, without notification, due to a reduction in the distribution or reach of content or disabling of searches for accounts.

Elsewhere, digital rights group Access Now has documented how content damaging to the occupation state has been censored under Meta policies unrelated to “disinformation” or “antisemitism” or informed by organizations like CyberWell.

For example, following the bombing of Gaza’s Al-Ahli Arab Hospital on 17 October 2023, which killed 471 Palestinians and left another 342 injured, Facebook and Instagram removed content documenting the explosion and showing bodies of casualties under Meta’s policy on adult nudity and sexual activity.

The Cradle’s coverage presses on

The ease with which Zionist organizations like CyberWell have been able to infiltrate and pressure Meta and the platform’s omerta on the genocide of Palestinians could be attributable to several Israeli military and intelligence veterans occupying high ranks within the company.

For instance, Guy Rosen, formerly of the occupation army’s shady spying and disinformation specialist Unit 8200, has been the company’s Chief Information Security Officer since 2022. He is also co-founder of Meta-owned Israeli tech company Onavo.

The Cradle will continue to expose the Gaza genocide and factually report on events in West Asia, including the region’s Resistance Axis, despite Meta’s ban from Facebook and Instagram.

Meta’s continuous and escalating censorship may well contribute to Meta's declining user base and crashing stock market value. As more voices are silenced, the platform’s days, much like those of the Zionist narrative it so eagerly supports, may be numbered.

Britain’s Kursk Invasion Backfires?

BY KIT KLARENBERG

British Challenger 2 tanks reached Ukraine with enormous fanfare, ahead of Kiev’s long-delayed, ultimately catastrophic 2023 “counteroffensive”. On top of encouraging other proxy war sponsors to provide Ukraine with armoured fighting vehicles, Western audiences were widely told the tank - hitherto marketed to international buyers as “indestructible” - made Kiev’s ultimate victory a fait accompli. As it was, Challenger 2 tanks deployed to Robotnye in September were almost instantly incinerated by Russian fire, then very quietly withdrawn from combat altogether.

Hence, many online commentators were surprised when footage of the Challenger 2 in action in Kursk began to circulate widely on August 13th. Furthermore, numerous mainstream outlets dramatically drew attention to the tank’s deployment. Several were explicitly briefed by British military sources that it marked the first time in history London’s tanks “have been used in combat on Russian territory.” Disquietingly, The Times now revealsthis was a deliberate propaganda and lobbying strategy, spearheaded by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Prior to the Challenger 2’s presence in Kursk breaking, Starmer and Defence Secretary John Healey had reportedly “been in talks about how far to go to confirm growing British involvement in the incursion towards Kursk.” Ultimately, they decided “to be more open about Britain’s role in a bid to persuade key allies to do more to help - and convince the public that Britain’s security and economic prosperity is affected by events on the fields of Ukraine.” A “senior Whitehall source” added:

“There won’t be shying away from the idea of British weapons being used in Russia as part of Ukraine’s defence. We don’t want any uncertainty or nervousness over Britain’s support at this critical moment and a half-hearted or uncertain response might have indicated that.”

In other words, London is taking the lead in marking itself out as a formal belligerent in the proxy war, in the hope other Western countries - particularly the US - will follow suit. What’s more, The Times strongly hints that Kursk is to all intents and purposes a British invasion. The outlet records:

“Unseen by the world, British equipment, including drones, have played a central role in Ukraine’s new offensive and British personnel have been closely advising the Ukrainian military…on a scale matched by no other country.”

Britain’s grand plans don’t stop there. Healey and Foreign Secretary David Lammy “have set up a joint Ukraine unit,” divided between the Foreign Office and Ministry of Defence. The pair “held a joint briefing, with officials, for a cross-party group of 60 MPs on Ukraine,” while “Starmer has also asked the National Security Council to draw up plans to provide Ukraine with a broader range of support.” On top of military assistance, “industrial, economic, and diplomatic support” are also being explored.

The Times adds that in coming weeks, “Healey will attend a new meeting of the Ukraine Defence Coordination Group,” an international alliance of 57 countries overseeing the Western weaponry flooding into Kiev. There, “Britain will press European allies to send more equipment and give Kyiv more leeway to use them in Russia.” The British Defence Ministry also reportedly “spoke last week to Lloyd Austin, the US defence secretary, and has been wooing Boris Pistorius, his German opposite number.”

Evidently, the new Labour government has an ambitious vision for the proxy war’s continuation. Yet, if the “counterinvasion” is anything to go by, it’s already dead in the water. As The Times notes, the imbroglio is primarily “designed to boost morale at home and shore up Zelensky’s position,” while relieving pressure on the collapsing Donbass frontline by forcing Russia to redirect forces to Kursk. Instead, Moscow “has capitalised on the absence of four crack Ukrainian regiments to press their attacks around Pokrovsk and Chasiv Yar.”

Similarly, commenting on Starmer’s wideranging efforts to compel overt Western action against Russia, a “defence expert” told The Times: “if it looks as if the Brits [are] too far ahead of their NATO allies, it might be counterproductive.” This analysis is prescient, for there are ample indications London’s latest attempt to ratchet tensions and drag the US and Europe ever-deeper into the proxy war quagmire has already been highly “counterproductive”, and boomeranged quite spectacularly. Indeed, it appears Washington has finally had enough of London’s escalatory connivances.

In repeated press conferences and media briefings since August 6th, US officials have firmly distanced themselves from the Kursk incursion, denying any involvement in its planning or execution, or even being forewarned by Kiev. Empire house journal Foreign Policy has reported that Ukraine’s swoop caught the Pentagon, State Department, and White House off-guard. The Biden administration is purportedly not only enormously unhappy “to have been kept out of the loop,” but “skeptical of the military logic” behind the “counterinvasion”.

On top being a clear suicide mission, the eagerly advertised presence of Western weapons and vehicles on Russian soil “has put the Biden administration in an extremely awkward position.” Washington has since the proxy war erupted been wary of provoking retaliations against Western countries and their overseas assets, and the conflict spilling outside Ukraine’s borders. Adding to US irritations, the British-directed Kursk misadventure also torpedoed ongoing efforts to secure an agreement to halt “strikes on energy and power infrastructure on both sides.”

This comes as Kiev prepares for a harrowing winter without heat or light, due to devastating Russian attacks on its national energy grid. Putin has moreover made clear that Ukrainian actions in Kursk mean there is no longer scope for a wider negotiated settlement at all. Which is to say Moscow will now only accept unconditional surrender. The US has also seemingly changed course as a result of the “counterinvasion”.

On August 16th, it was reported that Washington had prohibited Ukraine’s use of British-made, long-range Storm Shadow missiles against Russian territory. Given securing wider Western acquiescence to such strikes is, per The Times, a core objective for Starmer, this can only be considered a harsh rebuke, before the Labour government’s escalatory lobbying efforts have even properly taken off. The Biden administration had in May granted permissionfor Kiev to conduct limited strikes in Russia, using guided munitions up to a 40-mile range.

Even that mild authorisation may be rescinded in due course. Berlin, which like Britain had initially proudly promoted the presence of its tanks in Kursk, is now decisively shifting away from the proxy war. On August 17th, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner announced a halt to any and all new military aid to Ukraine as part of a wider bid to slash federal government spending. The Wall Street Journal reporting three days earlier that Kiev was responsible for Nord Stream II’s destruction may be no coincidence.

The narrative of the Russo-German pipeline’s bombing detailed by the outlet was absurd in the extreme. Conveniently too, the WSJ acknowledged that admissions of “Ukrainian officials who participated in or are familiar with the plot” aside, “all arrangements” to strike Nord Stream “were made verbally, leaving no paper trail.” As such, the paper’s sources “believe it would be impossible to put any of the commanding officers on trial, because no evidence exists beyond conversations among top officials.”

Such an evidentiary deficit provides Berlin with an ideal pretext to step away from the proxy war, while insulating Kiev from any legal repercussions. The narrative of Ukraine’s unilateral culpability for the Nord Stream bombings also helpfully distracts from the attack’s most likely perpetrators. This journalist has exposed how a shadowy cabal of British intelligence operatives were the masterminds, and potential executors, of the October 2022 Kerch Bridge bombing.

That escalatory incident, like Nord Stream’s destruction, was known about in advance, and apparently opposed, by the CIA. Chris Donnelly, the British military intelligence veteran who orchestrated the Kerch Bridge attack, has privately condemned Washington’s reluctance to embroil itself further in the proxy war, declaring “this US position must be challenged, firmly and at once.” In December that year, the BBC confirmed that British officials were worried about the Biden administration’s “innate caution”, and had “stiffened the US resolve at all levels”, via “pressure.”

The determination of Washington’s self-appointed “junior partner” to escalate the proxy conflict into all-out hot war between Russia and the West has only intensified under Starmer’s new Labour government. Yet, the Empire gives every appearance of refusing to take the bait, while seeking to curb London’s belligerent fantasies. This may be an encouraging sign that the proxy war is at last reaching its end. But we must remain vigilant. British intelligence is unlikely to allow the US to withdraw without a fight.

west vs truth....

The Five Eyes intelligence services are plainly building up Venn diagrams of the democratic opposition to Zionism and the neoliberal project.

No major Western leader is ever again going to be able to speak about human rights or ethical values, without attracting howls of derision. They are turning on their own people in order to prevent protest at a genocide they actively support.

U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer stepped up the pressure on opponents of Zionist genocide last Thursday with the arrest of journalist Sarah Wilkinson and the charging of activist Richard Barnard, both under the draconian Section 12 of the Terrorism Act which carries a sentence of up to 14 years in prison.

The U.K. MSM has of course ignored these, but is universally carrying outrage at the conviction of two Hong Kong journalists for sedition, which carries a maximum sentence of … two years.

But they tell us it is China and not the U.K. that is the authoritarian dictatorship.

(To be plain, I do view the Hong Kong convictions as also an unwarranted interference with free speech. I merely point out the incredible hypocrisy of the British Establishment and far worse laws here.)

Richard Barnard has been charged and will face trial, apparently related to public speeches supporting the Palestinian right to armed resistance.

Sarah Wilkinson was released on bail after about 14 hours. Like the recent arrest and bailing of Richard Medhurst, the arrest and bailing is a device to chill her reporting and activism.

[WATCH: Medhurst Speaks to CN on His Arrest]

The harassment of dissident journalists at ports, using the extensive powers of the Terrorism Act for questioning and confiscation of communications equipment, has become routine. I myself suffered detention, interrogation and confiscation of equipment for “terrorism” last October.

But the Sarah Wilkinson case is an escalation, in that this is a raid on a journalist whose home was invaded by 16 policemen at 7.30 a.m., while she was arrested and taken to the police station as her home was comprehensively turned over, presumably looking for gunmen under the bed.

More details of the raid have come out which are scarcely believable. Armed counter-terrorism police wearing balaclavas were used against a peaceful, female journalist. She was manhandled and physically hurt. The ashes in her mother’s funerary urn were desecrated in a “search.” And Sarah’s bail conditions include that she may not use a computer or mobile telephone.

It is a fascist government that sends 16 police to bust a peaceful journalist at home at 7.30am.

Like the stopping of Richard Medhurst’s plane on the tarmac by police vehicles and his being dragged from the plane (which had just landed and was en route to the gate anyway) this is an authoritarian theatre of intimidation, a Nazi stamping of the violence of the state.

Richard Barnard is a co-founder of the brilliant Palestine Action, which has done so much to disrupt the Israeli arms industry in the U.K. as it continues to send vital equipment to carry out the mass destruction of civilians in Gaza.

Richard has been charged under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act over two speeches he made supporting the Palestinian resistance.

I have of course said this before, but it bears repeating:

Palestine has the legitimate right of self-defence against the illegal occupation.
The occupying power Israel has no right of self-defence. That is the plain position in international law.

[See: Craig Murray: Medhurst & the Right to Armed Resistance]

Yet in the U.K., it is legal to offer full-throated support to Israel’s genocide and to wish that all Palestinians are exterminated.

IDF participants in genocide happily move between Israel and the U.K. with no legal consequences.

Yet it is illegal to support certain Palestinian organisations when engaged in legal acts of armed resistance.

The state’s actions against activists have been ramped up — as I predicted — since Starmer came to power.

[See: UK Prime Minister Terrorizing Palestine Supporters]

Five young activists in Glasgow were 10 days ago given sentences ranging from 12 months to 24 months in prison for direct action against Thales weapons plant in Govan, which makes parts for Israel’s Watchkeeper drones, widely used against civilians in Gaza.

The sentences from Sheriff Judge McCormick were savage — far higher than would normally be given on the specified charges, which were of breach of the peace, vandalism, disorderly conduct and acting in an abusive manner.

These normally would attract at most a suspended sentence on a first offence. McCormick also ignored the Scottish government guidelines not to give custodial sentences of 24 months or less but to seek alternatives.

More tellingly, McCormick completely ignored the elephant in the room: the genocide in Gaza, which Thales are supplying.

(The fact the action occurred before the genocide should be properly viewed as a commendable act of prescience.)

The Zionist Starmerite Establishment were quick to crow over the jailing – notably Luke Akehurst and John Woodcock (who is laughably called Lord Walney nowadays and is the government adviser on political violence) who said “Activists considering breaking the law to get their way need to see there will be consequences.”

This follows similarly harsh sentencing of climate change activists, including those who merely took part in Zoom calls discussing direct action.

The authoritarian reaction of the threatened Zionist ruling class is a worldwide phenomenon. Redoubtable Australian journalist Mary Kostakidis has been ludicrously accused under the country’s Racial Discrimination Act for retweeting pro-Palestinian tweets.

American activist Professor Danny Shaw was turned over by the F.B.I. on return to the U.S. following a trip which included speaking on a panel alongside me at the Palestine International Film Festival.

Also in the United States my friend Scott Ritter has been raided by the F.B.I. and all his electronics and other materials confiscated.

[See: SCOTT RITTER: A Farewell to Truth]

I have spoken to Danny Shaw and to Richard Medhurst. In all of these arrests and detentions, including my own, the emphasis has been on confiscating electronics and on questioning focusing very strongly on contacts, meetings and sources of finance.

The Five Eyes intelligence services are plainly building up Venn diagrams of the democratic opposition to Zionism and the neoliberal project. It is notable that many of those recently targeted over Palestine — including Mary Kostakidis, Richard Medhurst, Scott Ritter and myself — were active in the campaign to free Julian Assange.

I have always maintained that Keir Starmer’s record shows that he will be an even bigger danger to civil liberties than the Tories. It is worth noting that all of the Tory recent draconian legislation — The Public Order Act, The National Security Act and even the Rwanda Act — was not opposed or was supported by Starmer as the pretend “leader of the opposition.”

Starmer and Cooper are continuing the Tory policy of challenging a High Court ruling won by the human rights group Liberty, that Suella Braverman acted illegally in tabling secondary legislation lowering the threshold to ban a demonstration on grounds of inconvenience to the public.

The forthcoming Online Safety Act will be truly chilling, including making it illegal to publish what the government deems misinformation.

Starmer has always been MI5-controlled. The fact that, while a Tory government was in power, the Crown Prosecution Service destroyed all the key documentation revealing Starmer’s involvement in the Assange, Savile and Janner cases (the last being far more important than generally appreciated), shows the extent to which Starmer is a protected Deep State asset.

If we are to survive this descent into fascism as a society, we need to be prepared to dissent now, and each of us needs to be prepared to go to jail if necessary.

A last word to Craig Mokhiber, the senior U.N. international lawyer who resigned in protest at U.N. pusillanimity in face of genocide:

A dark evil has descended over the West. As the genocide in Palestine continues, the US, UK, Germany & other Western governments, instead of cracking down on those committing, aiding and inciting the genocide, are cracking down on those opposing the genocide. Human rights defenders are being persecuted on college campuses, on city streets, in workplaces, at airports and beyond, with suspensions, beatings, firings, slander, arrests, asset seizures, social media bans. All to defend the perpetrators of genocide and to protect the “feelings” of genocide supporters. Be a light in the darkness. Raise your voice. Fight back.
