she should sack herself for being as useless as a dead rat on planet mars.....

Embattled Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle - who faces calls to resign over security lapses leading to former President Donald Trump’s near-assassination - landed her role thanks largely to a close relationship with first lady Jill Biden, sources have claimed.

Embattled Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who is facing congressional outcry and calls to resign over security lapses leading to former President Donald Trump’s near-assassination Saturday, landed her role thanks largely to a close relationship with first lady Jill Biden, The Post has learned.

Cheatle, 53, is the second woman to lead the presidential protection agency and secured the non-Senate-confirmed role in August 2022 after a three-year stint as senior director of global security at PepsiCo. Before that, she had served 27 years in the Secret Service, beginning in the Clinton administration.

Four sources close to President Biden’s family, including people who interacted with Cheatle during the Obama-Biden administration, said she was well liked by the future first lady and her most senior aides, including top adviser Anthony Bernal.

“Cheatle served on Dr. Biden’s second lady detail and Anthony pushed for her,” a Democratic insider told The Post. “Anthony has no national security or law enforcement experience. He should have no influence over the selection of the USSS director.”

“I heard at the time she was being considered for director that Anthony had pushed her forward as an option,” another well-placed source told The Post.

Bernal, 51, is widely regarded as rivaling even White House chief of staff Jeff Zients in terms of influence over administration decisions. He has faced allegations of bullying and sexual harassment from colleagues who have likened his sway to that of Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin over the Romanov court.

“Anthony is obsessed with being DEI-compliant,” a third source told The Post, using the acronym for diversity, equity and inclusion — the human resources practice of attempting to ensure diversity in the workforce.

Cheatle is expected to provide a briefing to members of Congress Tuesday on how gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was able to climb onto a roof about 130 yards from Trump’s location at a rally in Butler, Pa., before firing an AR-15-style rifle at the former president, wounding him and two others and killing a rally-goer.

The director also is expected to appear next Monday at a public hearing of the House Oversight Committee.

Republican members of Congress, however, are questioning Cheatle’s leadership.

“Somebody really dropped the ball. You’ve got a DEI person, a DEI initiative person who heads up our Secret Service,” Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) told Fox News following the attack.

Some of The Post’s sources praised Cheatle as reliable and likable.

“Kim was always professional and a very competent agent. She was always good to work with,” said The Post’s fourth source.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates said that “Director Cheatle was chosen because of her deep qualifications for the job. She served in the Secret Service with distinction for 25 years, earning a reputation for excellence, hard work, and integrity.”

Cheatle’s link to the Biden family was known to some extent previously. In his announcement of her appointment in 2022, the president said, “Jill and I know firsthand Kim’s commitment to her job and to the Secret Service’s people and mission.”

“When Kim served on my security detail when I was vice president, we came to trust her judgement and counsel,” Joe Biden said in the statement announcing her selection.

The precise mechanics of Cheatle’s appointment were not clear to The Post, including whether the Secret Service conducted a supplemental selection process or if the decision was made entirely within the White House.

It’s also unclear precisely how long she worked on then-second lady Biden’s detail. Agents typically rotate assignments and prior reporting indicates she also was assigned to protect then-VP Biden.

The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment and the first lady’s office did not offer comment.

Cheatle also did not address criticism that Trump’s protection detail included three women who were much smaller in stature than the Republican presidential candidate. The Secret Service chief, who was appointed by President Joe Biden, has previously said she would prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices, such as hiring more women and minorities.

“DEI is one thing, competence and effectiveness is another, and I saw DEI out there,” former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker told the New York Post after the Butler shooting.

When Trump appeared at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday, his security detail was composed entirely of men close to him in height.

US Republicans subpoena Secret Service director
Kimberly Cheatle has been accused of incompetence after her agents failed to stop a gunman wounding Donald Trump...

The Republican-run House Oversight Committee has issued a subpoena compelling Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to testify on Capitol Hill about her agency’s “total failure” to prevent the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

The committee first called Cheatle to testify on the day of the attack, and requested specific information related to the incident on Monday. While the Secret Service initially confirmed that Cheatle would sit down with the committee, House Speaker Mike Johnson claimed on Wednesday morning that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas forbade Cheatle from testifying.

“The lack of transparency and failure to cooperate with the Committee on this pressing matter… further calls into question your ability to lead the Secret Service and necessitates the attached subpoena compelling your appearance,” committee chairman James Comer wrote in a letter to Cheatle on Wednesday.

Trump narrowly avoided death at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, when a would-be assassin’s bullet clipped his ear as it whizzed past his head. Firing from a rooftop around 500 feet (150 meters) from the stage, the gunman killed one spectator at the rally and wounded two others before he was shot dead by Secret Service snipers.

classified....

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The classified details about the assassination attempt against former US President Donald Trump are even more alarming than publicly available information about the incident, US House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Thursday.

"The classified parts are even more alarming, that we’ve heard so far. It’s completely inexcusable," Johnson said in an interview with Politico.

Johnson said that he called the White House on Thursday morning to ask US President Joe Biden to fire US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. However, Johnson said that the White House would not connect him with Biden.

Speaking to the current state of the former US president, Johnson noted that Trump appears to be acting deep and contemplative following the assassination attempt.

"I think in his heart and in his head, [Trump] is in the place where you would want a future president to be in a moment like we’re facing for the country," Johnson said.

"You want your president to be deep and contemplative, and you can see it on President Trump’s face right now, that’s where he’s at."

The House speaker further indicated that Trump’s anticipated speech at the Republican National Convention late Thursday will be momentous and historic.

Dems May Violate State Laws by Booting Biden

Addressing growing reports regarding the potential replacement of US President Joe Biden as the 2024 democratic candidate, Johnson stated the switch would potentially violate state laws.

“If they go about the process of having a few people in a backroom make this magical decision and kick their candidate off the ballot, it defies all the work that’s been done for 14 months,” Johnson said told the oulet.

“[Biden is] the duly selected candidate for president for reelection, and I don’t know how they can just wave a magic wand and make it all go away without violating at least some great tradition and probably some statutory law itself, at least in some of these states.”

Johnson said that he would expect legal challenges in some states if Democrats attempt to replace Biden with an alternative nominee.

While the lawmaker acknowledged the possible setbacks that may emerge with Biden's removal as candidate, he nevertheless pointed out that he, too, doesn't believe the commander-in-chief is "fit for this job right now."

Most of the security personnel working at the Donald Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, during which the Republican presidential candidate was shot, weren’t even Secret Service, US Senator Josh Hawley has claimed, citing whistleblowers.

Shots fired from the roof of a nearby factory nicked Trump’s ear, killed one audience member, and injured two more before the sniper was taken out by law enforcement.

“Whistleblowers tell me that MOST of Trump’s security detail working the event last Saturday were not even Secret Service,” Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, said on Friday, accusing the Department of Homeland Security of assigning “unprepared and inexperienced personnel” to the campaign rally.

In a public letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Hawley said whistleblowers with “direct knowledge of the event” told him that the majority of the security detail “were not in fact USSS agents but instead drawn from the department’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).”

According to the whistleblowers, the security did not use dogs to monitor the area, allowed people without proper badges to access the backstage, did not have people stationed around the perimeter or deployed around the podium, among other things.

Hawley is a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and notified Mayorkas that he will fully protect these whistleblowers, while continuing to investigate the “staggering security failures on July 13.” He demanded answers on the whistleblowers’ claims from Mayorkas within seven days.

The building from which Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire had been the base for local law enforcement helping with security. It remains a mystery how he managed to get onto the roof undetected by the authorities, and stay there despite civilians repeatedly warning the police and the Secret Service for almost 20 minutes before he fired.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has tried to explain the absence of Secret Service personnel on that particular roof by claiming it was too sloped and posed a safety risk. Unconvinced, the House Oversight Committee has issued a subpoena to compel her to testify before Congress under oath.

Trump turned his head to the right at the very last moment, so the bullet intended for his head missed. After security swarmed the former president, he got up, raised a fist, and told his followers to “fight.” Republicans confirmed him as their presidential nominee at this week’s national convention in Milwaukee.

Congressman is 'speechless' after Secret Service director's testimony: 'She has to go'

Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., urges Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign after Trump's assassination attempt on 'The Story.'

--------------------

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The rooftop of a building where a gunman positioned himself to shoot at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania was left exposed by US law enforcement because it was too hot outside, US Senator Josh Hawley said in a letter citing a whistleblower.

"Contrary to Director Cheatle's public statement about the 'safety' of the sloped roof of American Glass Research Building 6, one whistleblower with direct knowledge of Secret Service planning for the event alleges that there was supposed to be a law enforcement presence on the roof that day," Hawley said in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Monday.

The whistleblower alleges that at least one security officer was specifically assigned to be on the roof for the duration of the Trump rally, but this individual abandoned his or her post due to the hot weather, according to Hawley.

Hawley added that the whistleblower further alleges that concerns over the hot weather prompted law enforcement to neglect to patrol the building and instead to station security personnel inside the building.

The senator is asking Mayorkas to provide all records that may be related to this whistleblower's accusations by July 26.

On July 13, a gunman attempted to assassinate Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, shooting him in the right ear, killing one audience member and wounding two others.

gone....

Kimberly Cheatle has resigned as director of the US Secret Service, after refusing to do so in the wake of the attempted assassination of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

A shooter nicked Trump’s ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, killing one person in the audience and injuring two others before Secret Service snipers managed to neutralize him. Thomas Crooks was able to position himself on a roof that had a clear shot to where Trump was speaking, which the protective detail had inexplicably left unguarded.

Cheatle tendered her resignation on Tuesday morning, one day after an acrimonious congressional hearing during which both Republicans and Democrats accused her of withholding information and refusing to take responsibility for security failures at the rally.

“The Secret Service’s solemn mission is to protect our nation’s leaders. On July 13, we failed,” Cheatle told the House Oversight Committee on Monday, describing the Butler shooting as the “most significant operational failure at the Secret Service in decades.”

Even though Cheatle took “full responsibility” for the lapse at the congressional hearing, she insisted she was “the best person” to lead the agency at this time, and stated that she had “full confidence in the men and women of the Secret Service.”

On Tuesday, she sent out an email informing agency staff of her departure.

“In light of recent events, it is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to step down as your director,”she wrote, according to AP.

President Joe Biden confirmed Cheatle’s resignation, thanking her “for her service to our family” and announcing that he would be appointing a new director soon, according to a statement posted on the White House website.

Cheatle faced calls to resign almost immediately after the incident, but resisted for more than a week. In an ABC News interview, she tried to justify the absence of Secret Service agents on the roof from which Crooks shot by saying it was too “sloped” and posed a security hazard.

Damning details have continued to emerge ever since. Whistleblowers have said the protection detail at the rally was composed mainly of Homeland Security personnel and temporary Secret Service agents. By the time Trump appeared at the Republican National Convention, he had a different set of agents as his bodyguards.

The FBI is currently conducting a criminal investigation into the assassination attempt. The Department of Homeland Security, to which the Secret Service belongs, has opened three internal investigations into security lapses. Congress is also discussing a probe into the events in Butler.

which counter sniper?....

BY LARRY JOHNSON

WARNING — There are some graphic images of the dead shooter later in this article. If you are bothered by such pictures I encourage to exit this post.

The Secret Service and the FBI are not telling the truth about who shot Thomas Crooks, the failed assassin of Donald Trump. You can see in the photo above this paragraph (follow the yellow arrow) the location of Thomas Crooks’ body. It is about five feet below the ridge-line of the roof. The following photo confirms the location (see inside the red circle).

According to Acting Secret Service Director, Crooks was killed by a shot fired by the Secret Service counter sniper team located stage left of Trump. The counter snipers use a large caliber round, usually a 300 win mag. A round that size destroys the human head. Here is an example (the relevant video starts at the 12:59 mark and concludes at 14:01).

SEE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsvJzfXZI18

If he had been shot by a counter sniper firing from the direction of President Trump, then the top half of his head would be missing. The photo of Crooks was taken after rolling him over onto his left side. He was shot in the back of the head and the bullet appears to have exited his mouth. He was shot with a lower caliber weapon, possibly a .223 or 5.56.

Given the location of his body, the Secret Service counter sniper teams located to the right and left of Donald Trump above the stage could not see him in this position. One possibility is that the Butler County counter sniper team, who reportedly were located in a building above and to the right of Crooks took the shot.

Speaking of shots, there were a total of ten. The first eight shots were by Crooks (and matches up with the FBI claim that they recovered eight shell casings next to his body). There was a ninth shot, clearly a different firearm. Then, after a 7 second delay, a final shot — number 10.

If Crooks had been shot by the Secret Service counter sniper teams in front of him (surrounding Donald Trump) then the front and/or top of his head would have been atomized. He would have half a head. It would appear that the Secret Service team missed or was firing a 5.56 or 300 blackout.

Danny Davis and I discuss some of this today on his podcast. We also touch on newly released reports that the United States only has a three to four week supply of ammunition if it gets into a shooting war with China. Yikes!
