our flowers of evil.....

In all the conflicts that have agitated history, there has always been a camp of good and a camp of absolute evil. This is at least what emerges from the great political declarations and the media hammer-therapy that can be observed in the opposing camps. At the end of the conflict, history is written by the winner. This one often brings his adversaries before a court in charge of condemning and executing the leaders of the losing side. The camps of good and evil are then perfectly identified with regard to history.

1st part: His leadership, 3 decades of accomplishment, the law of the strongest

The war in Ukraine is no exception to this universal rule. If we are to believe Western politicians and media expressing themselves in perfect connivance, the camp of good would be ours: USA-EU-NATO-G7, the camp of evil would be the camp that opposes ours, whatever that he may be.

As far as I am concerned, the politico-media force-feeding based on dubious narratives is far from enough for me to form an opinion on which camp would be the good side. I prefer to refer to the accomplishments of this camp over a few decades and verify that this camp is run by recommendable people before commenting.

It is this analysis conducted since the collapse of the Soviet Union that I propose to share with me below.

***The alleged camp of good is now led by an elite with questionable political and moral practices.

None of my readers will dispute that the alleged "good side" is today led by the United States of America. The governance of the “good camp” is therefore today ensured by a small American elite that it is up to us to assess.

In three very short videos, let's get acquainted with very characteristic specimens of the leadership of the "good camp": ours.

1 – During a conference in San Francisco in 2007, so long before Maidan and the crisis that followed, US General Wesley Clark, former Commander-in-Chief of NATO, presented to us in five minutes the "good guys neoconservatives" and their "Project for a New Century of American Hegemony". This project is a very aggressive project that announces regime changes, wars, chaos in several countries, to place them in the US orbit. The Russophobic side of the project cannot escape a bona fide listener, even though Russia was in no condition to pose the slightest problem at the time. (5 min video)

Is this the leadership of the good camp?

2 – In 22 seconds, Madeleine Albright, a nice US neoconservative, US Secretary of State at the time, assumes the death of 500,000 Iraqi children on American television saying: It was a tough choice but it was worth it ». Realizing in hindsight that she had just said something outrageous, she apologized a few hours later, but her true nature was expressed without shame and without complex in front of the camera…. (Video 22 sec)

We must remind the uninitiated that during the first Gulf War in 1991, a war conducted with the backing of the UN, but already under false pretext, proven today, (the Kuwait Incubator Affair), US-British forces dropped depleted uranium on Iraq, killing tens of thousands of Iraqis under the drug embargo1.

Is this the leadership of the good camp?

Admittedly, Madeleine Albright has gone to hell to join her master Lucifer and is therefore no longer in a position to harm humanity, but her spiritual daughter, the kind neoconservative Victoria Nulland, made famous by her cry from the heart "Fuck the EU", and through her magnificent 2014 Maidan coup in Ukraine, for just $5 billion, rose in rank to replace her in US Foreign Affairs.

Is this the leadership of the good camp?

3 – On April 15, 2019, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo makes a startling statement to students at H&M University in Texas. "I was director of the CIA and we lied, cheated, stole. It was as if we had had entire training courses to learn how to do it. This reminds us of the glory of the American experience.2.

Is this the leadership of the good side? Very comfortable and uninhibited, in any case ….

We could multiply the examples both the political and moral perversity of the small US neoconservative elite who hold the reality of power in the USA and who, therefore, leads the “US-EU-NATO-G7” side of good, has no limit.

But now let's take a quick look at the main achievements of the “good side” over the past three decades.

Since the collapse of the former Soviet Union, the main achievements of the alleged "Camp of Good" have been calamitous and bloody for the planet.

We will limit ourselves to five episodes which the reader should remember.

– In April 1989, the affair of the fake mass grave in Timisoara served as a catalyst for the Romanian revolution. A false narrative, relayed for 6 weeks by the Western media pack, manages to bring down the last communist regime in Eastern Europe. The media then apologize for "their mistake", but the shot is a winner. This type of false narrative aimed at winning the decision will become the rule in the Western media space.

The concerted and "packed" action of these mainstream media will now be facilitated by a ever-increasing focus in the hands of a few neoconservative and globalist billionaires. Those who control opinion through manipulation and emotion end up controlling the world. (2 mins video)

Of course, this revolution was not terrible in terms of loss of human life (only 1,100 dead and 3,300 injured) but what is calamitous is this evolution of the Western media space towards ever more lies , manipulation, concentration in the hand of a small number, with the aim of taking and keeping control of the populations by making them swallow anything.

It is a sad development which has more than ever the wind in its sails in the camp of good to the great satisfaction of the politicians in power.

2 – The first Iraq war of 1990-1991under the false pretext of the "incubators of Kuwait", designed and implemented by the CIA, and under the real pretext of the invasion of Kuwait.

On July 25, 1990, Saddam Hussein met with the American ambassador to Baghdad, April Glaspie. Duplicity or not, the latter, well aware of what is being prepared (“we see that you have amassed large troops on the border") suggests to him that the United States would not intervene in a conflict between two Arab countries 13·14. Saddam Hussein interprets the US ambassador's remarks as a green light. Was he duped by his American ally who had "encouraged" him to wage war on Iran from 1980 to 1988? In any case, it was the CIA who concocted the false pretext of the incubators...

As for Timisoara, the Western media relayed the false pretext and lied in packs to obtain the outbreak of this war.

The truth finally came out, after these lies had achieved their goals, namely the vote on a resolution at the UN and the entry into war of the "good side" which had deceived public opinion.3.

If we add the deaths that occurred during military operations, just over 100,000, and the indirect deaths, linked to the aftermath of the war and the consequences of the use of depleted uranium and drug embargoes, the balance sheet fluctuates between 500,000 and one million dead, according to sources4.

This depleted uranium, a “dirty” weapon used without moderation and without real necessity by the Anglo-Saxons on the Iraqi populations had long-term consequences on these populations, but also a boomerang effect on the uninformed soldiers of the camp coalition. good.

In addition to depleted uranium, economic sanctions and embargoes, including on drugs, have become weapons of warfavored by the camp of good, because they kill far more than any bombardment, and in discretion, because the losses are spread out over time, well after the military operations.

Another great achievement to the credit of the good side, based on duplicity and lies.

3 – The dismemberment of the former Yugoslavia

The ins and outs of this case which will last 9 years, are very little known to those who claim to be experts on the subject and who rewrite history to the glory of the “good side”.

On November 5, 1990, while the eastern countries were in a situation of virtual bankruptcy, the US Congress adopted a law on the granting of financial means abroad (Foreign Operations Appropriations Law 101-513) deciding that all financial support to Yugoslavia would be suspended within 6 months, without the possibility of borrowing or credit.

This deliberate procedure was obviously dangerous to the point that, already on November 27, 1990, the New York Times quoted a CIA report predicting, with accuracy, that a bloody civil war would break out in Yugoslavia.

It is this law and US economic and financial pressure which constituted the source of the division in the former Yugoslavia, the civil war and the dismemberment of the country which followed and which ended with the bombardment of Belgrade by NATO, without agreement from the UN, in the spring of 1999.

The real human toll of this dismemberment of the former Yugoslavia, masterfully planned and executed by the US pack leader of the "good side" , varies, according to the sources and what one counts. It is 200,000 to 250,000 dead.

Lessons to be learned from this magnificent case study.

– the economic and financial weapon was the first used in 1990 and proved decisive in the execution of the dismemberment plan. "We caused the collapse of the Yugoslav economy..."

– The plan could only be carried out by obtaining the submission of recalcitrant Serbia by 78 days of bombardment in the spring of 1999, according to the strategy of the five circles, emphasizing civilian infrastructure. These bombardments were justified by a false excuse: the fake Racak massacre. They did not have the backing of the UN, but NATO was already trying to replace the UN by behaving like the sheriff of the planet. The overwhelming NATO air superiority and its fear of engaging in combat on the ground, in the Kosovar theater, must be noted in this affair. 5.

– The choice of the right moment by the good side to apply this dismemberment plan, ie the moment when Russia and China, too weak, could not react (1990-1999 decade).

This dismemberment operation provoked an awareness by Russia and China, humiliated by the bombing of Belgrade, of what could happen to them one day. They have therefore forged alliances: OCS (2001) and BRICS (2008) which are proving very effective today in support of Russia.

Moreover, Putin, who has been following these affairs at the highest level since 1999, very quickly understood that what had happened to the former Yugoslavia would one day be applied to Russia. For more than twenty years, he prepared his country for a confrontation he knew was inevitable even as the self-proclaimed "good side", arrogant, dominating and overconfident, disarmed at all costs and his pack leader US extended its control to the East, advancing its rockets and its military bases towards the Russian borders.

Plan for the dismemberment of Russia by the “camp of good”

Before dismemberment : a Federation rich in resources of all kinds but difficult to control by the "good side" and above all preventing it from dominating the world

4 – The 2nd Iraq War (March 2003- December 2011)

We will not dwell on the 2nd Iraq war, which was also based on a false pretext: Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction which did not exist.

Everyone remembers the comedy played by Colin Powell before the UN Security Council, lying shamelessly in front of the whole world with his Perlin Pimpin powder.

From 2003 to 2011, from 150,000 to one million victims direct or indirect of this 2nd war of Iraq were deducted, according to the sources, whose 75% to 80% civilians 6.

The US pack leader of the good camp implemented the new methods more discreet to kill, indirectly of course, the adversary's civilian population in order to compel the leader of the opposing camp to submit.

Examples? – The bombardments in application of the theory of the five circles which target, among other things, the infrastructures necessary for the survival of the populations. It is a theory invented in the USA, morally debatable, and whose Americans find it hard to admit that it can be applied by anyone other than themselves in theaters of conflict. This strategy had already been used in the bombings against Serbia 7.

– Economic sanctions and embargoes, including on medicines, which become weapons of war because they kill far more than any bombardment, and in discretion, since the losses are spread out over time, well after the military operations.

This is again an achievement of the "good side", without the backing of the UN, on the basis of a lie, with which for once, France, Germany and Canada had refused to join , which was to their credit. At the time, some NATO countries still had a bit of honor and sovereignty.

5 – The Syrian war (2011-2023….)

Triggered in March 2011 using now proven techniques, this nth color revolution, also concocted by US neoconservatives, according to the very words of the former NATO Commander-in-Chief, US General Westley Clark (video presented in beginning of analysis), was conducted, like the two wars in Iraq, for the benefit of Israel, whose very influential supporters direct the foreign policies of the United States and Europe. Provisional assessment: 500,000 dead to date.

One could add to the above examples Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, so many sovereign states attacked by the good side and/or its allies on the sole pretext that their leaders and their policies did not serve the interests of the good side. GOOD.

One could also add, over the past three decades, the innumerable US interferences in the internal affairs of dozens of countries (attempts at color revolutions, electoral interference, economic pressure, aimed at forcing this or that State to submit to the will of a state that has become rogue, because it is run by a mafia-like deep state that makes rain and shine in the US elections, but also in Europe.

Beyond these various often bloody achievements of the good camp, we must look into the methods used by this US-NATO-EU-G7 good camp and the means at its disposal.

For the good side, the end justifies the means. International legality matters little. It is the law of the strongest and "the rules" that it sets unilaterally that must apply.

To impose their "rules" throughout the world, the USA, leader of the “good side” uses first of all two formidable effective weapons: the dollar and the self-proclaimed extraterritoriality of their right which is attached to it. They do not hesitate to punish their opponents but also their allies who would not strictly apply the "rules" that only they can set. Some French banks, for example, had to pay billions of dollars in fines to the US Treasury for daring to circumvent US economic sanctions against Iran and several other embargoed countries. 8.

The USA and their allies on the good side do not hesitate either to take control of the assets of their adversaries when they (Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, etc.) have had the unfortunate idea of depositing them in US banks. or those of NATO member states. "We lied, cheated, stole..."

The USA does not hesitate either. to seize the industrial flagships of their most servile allies going so far as to imprison executives of these companies in high security quarters, under false pretenses, to blackmail management (Alsthom case, Frédéric Pierucci). They go so far as to corrupt politicians and business leaders (MaKron) to achieve their ends.

They even go so far as to torpedo the international commercial contracts of their most faithful allies to take them over and award them to their companies. (US Air Force tanker $35 billion contract won by Airbus in 2008 and re-awarded to Boeing; Australian submarine $56 billion contract canceled in September 2021 to be re-awarded to US companies.)

They maintain a telephone tapping system of the NSA, revealed by Snowden to spy on the leaders of the major allied countries, to discover their weaknesses, even their turpitudes, to establish files on them and to blackmail them as much as necessary to better submit them, and this, without even the interested parties taking offense. It is even the opposite. The more the leaders of the EU are deceived, cuckolded, sodomized by those of the USA, the more they seem to be satisfied with the situation.

It is all this that makes for the excellence of the partnership relationship and the cohesion within the “good side”.

Hyper-power confided in its egocentrism, the United States, pack leader of the good side, use and abuse their strength and their monopolies. In French, this is called “abuse of a dominant position”. For an average American, unaccustomed to even the simplest legal terms, this translates to: “Why bother? »

This is how they remain one of the few countries in the world not to have signed and above all ratified the 1997 Ottawa Convention on the prohibition of anti-personnel mines.

They still violate the 1992 Geneva Convention on the prohibition of the development, production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons and on their destruction, which they nevertheless signed and ratified in 1997. , by authorizing the Ukrainian ally, signatory of the convention, to use this type of weapon on the Donbass front.

They violate the Biological Weapons Convention that they signed in 1975. And, to do it more discreetly, they relocate their laboratories to allied countries that are not very attentive to the issue (Ukraine) 9 while keeping some ultra-secret research laboratories on their territory: (Fort Detricks) 10.

To top it off, the United States, the undisputed leader of the good side, is the only country in the world not having ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 11.

This is undoubtedly the beauty and greatness of the neoconservative and globalist model, to which the governance of the EU now adheres unreservedly, even enthusiastically.

This is the US pack leader whom our rulers have freely (?) chosen to join and whom we should follow in his Russophobic crusade in Ukraine, to keep the camp of good world hegemony.

But we are still far from being at the end of the analysis of this camp of good which knows how to go much further in horror while giving lessons in morality and good governance to the rest of the planet.

There are of course the unacceptable acts of torture, murder and humiliation of Iraqi prisoners of war incarcerated in Abu Graib or Guantanamo, all perpetrated by kind American GIs who, without shame and without complex, have broadcast the images of their packages on face book and on the net for the attention of the whole world. The net having been "cleaned" of most of the most sordid videos that could undermine the honor of the "camp of good", there are only a few, less horrible ones left. 12.

One could have imagined that these were blunders that would be severely punished by the Camp of good? Well no ! One of the main US torturers Lynndie England, an evocative and proudly worn surname, will be sentenced to 3 years in prison, but will only do one. However, she herself executed a few prisoners and had herself photographed in front of the corpses. Cheap war crimes perpetrated by the US Army. … It is true that in the article published in The Gray Zone, US investigative journalist Seymour M. Hersh, Pulitzer Prize winner, revealed the existence of “Copper Green”, a torture program used in Afghanistan, then in Iraq and endorsed by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld himself. (a nice globalist neoconservative, quoted by General Clark in the first video).

Is this the good side that gives lessons in morality and governance to the whole world and that often howls at war crimes, in increasingly delirious accusatory inversions?

Twisted enough to institutionalize torture, dumb enough to brag on the internet and get your fingers caught in the jam. This is also the camp of good.

It is true that until then, the US military authorities were rather discreet by relocating torture (like their biological laboratories) to countries that did not pay much attention, including NATO countries (Poland, Romania, Lithuania) and by sending their executioners to “operate” on the spot 13.

We have already mentioned economic sanctions and embargoes which can be, over time, much more deadly than bombardments for the most vulnerable civilian populations, especially children and the elderly. This is particularly the case of the US embargo on medicines still in force for Syria, even though this civilian population has just experienced an earthquake that caused significant losses and many injuries. Everyone can see in this rabid, stupid and counter-productive extremism of the "good side", the level of their human and moral qualities, and understand why this good side arouses disgust, rejection and hatred on the most of the planet.

Since 1990, the appeal of the US pack leader of the camp of good to Private Military Companies (PMC) has exploded in all theaters of operation. This system has nothing to do with mercenaries in which individuals are recruited directly by States. In PMCs, they sign contracts with companies with legal status and these deal with States 14.

Simple observation of the facts shows, for example, that the USA signed some 3000 contracts with PMCs between 1994 and 2004. The most infamous of these many private military companies operating for good is the US Black Water Company, founded in 1997, and known for its countless atrocities and massacres committed in Afghanistan and Iraq. But of course, impunity is total, as for the soldiers of the Armies of the "camp of good" 15.

This PMC system is particularly efficient and limits the political risks of the State that uses it. Of course the good side would like to retain its exclusivity and tend to consider as a “terrorist organization” any PMC that competes with those of the good side.

It should be noted with interest that Wagner, the first Russian PMC, was only founded on May 1, 2014, perhaps in reaction to the Maidan coup, led by the "good side", in which certain United States PMCs had played the leading roles in the shadows. Founded 17 years after the BlackWaters, Wagner is therefore 17 years behind BlackWaters for what could be presented as abuses, by the always presumed "honest" narratives of the media of the camp of good, unfortunately too often caught in the fingers. the jam of lies.

What everyone must understand is that the United States and its allies on the good side can't stand that Wagner, a young private Russian military company, less than nine years old, can distinguish itself by a military efficiency and ethics far superior to any PMC of the good side, including BlackWater, 17 years her senior. This is the reason why they denounce this competition which they consider unfair.

It is therefore hilarious to see the USA classify Wagner as a terrorist organization, while the SMP US BlackWater has really been a terrorist organization for 26 years, while benefiting from the immunity linked to his work for the benefit of the camp of good. We are in the traditional double standard. Nothing too surprising from the good side.

The first part of this "apology" of the camp of good, which some will not hesitate to qualify as an indictment, being already heavy to bear and very long, it is good to put an end to it with the interesting question of extrajudicial executions. .

In 2014, shortly after the Maidan coup and the ensuing annexation of Crimea by Russia, an adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Minister (Anton Gerashenko) under the influence of the major intelligence services of the camp of good (CIA, Mossad, MI6) creates an online collaborative platform to establish the list of people to be physically eliminated because they oppose the interests of Ukraine, but especially the neoconservative and globalist project that goes through the dismemberment of Russia.

In fact this project is 100% American and lists some 289 people worldwide. This is what emerges from the very documented article by Bellincioni Berti of September 4th 2022 16.

Some executions have already been carried out for example, including that of Daria Dougin, assassinated on August 20, 2022 in Russia.

This shows, if it were still needed, the true nature of the member countries of the good side, whose political discourse no longer matches their actions since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990 and the emergence in the upper spheres of power in the United States of a neoconservative and globalist brood which has spread widely in the governance of the major European countries.

Needless to mention, to weigh down the balance sheet, the instrumentalization of the terrorism of Daesh and Al Quaida, by the camp of good, with the sole aim of bringing down Bashar el Assad, secular head of state and recognized at the United Nations. which has the only defect of displeasing Israel, one of the influential champions of the camp of good 17.

No need to mention the execution either. illegal and provocative of Iranian General Soleimani by the United States which will stop at nothing to sow chaos and death on the planet 18.

What cries of outcry would we not have heard in the media of the "good camp" if one of our generals had been executed in this way by an Iranian drone?

And yes, this is all the good side...

Arrived at this stage of the analysis, it is good to take a break to digest this first avalanche of reminders of information and undeniable facts which will be followed by a 2nd wave, then by the analysis of the "camp of evil" : the one that opposes ours.

In provisional conclusion, I can simply note that I do not recognize myself in this camp of the good, such as it appears until now. I do not understand by what ethical, moral and intellectual perversion some of my brothers in arms have been able to offer their unconditional allegiance to a camp of good whose leaders have so much lied, cheated, stolen, killed, tortured, violated international laws, harms the interests of our country, for the sole interests of their US pack leader, a pack leader who has nothing to do with international legality and for whom the rules he has set himself must be binding on all .

I will be told that our leaders were elected (even if they were badly elected) and that the military is subordinate to politics. But it was through this type of thoughtless discipline that Hitler, better elected at the time than our leaders today, was followed to the end of his murderous madness by his army and by his people. Hitler's “good, brave and disciplined” generals were justly punished at Nuremberg after the war. They should have looked at their conscience earlier and not stupidly obeyed.

There are times in history when French soldiers had to choose sides. General de Gaulle did so without hesitation in 1940, and I doubt that, from where he is, he can approve of France's servile allegiance to what has become, over time, the empire of duplicity and lies.

I also doubt that François Mitterand, from where he is, can approve of our unfortunate servile allegiance after declaring:

"France does not know it, but we are at war with America. Yes, a permanent war, a vital war, an economic war, a war apparently without death. Yes, they are very tough Americans, they are voracious, they want undivided power over the world. It is an unknown war and yet a war to the death."

Everything is here : Everyone will, at one time or another, have to choose sides in this war to the death. This side will not necessarily be the side that ill-elected, media-backed meeting rulers have chosen for us. (to be continued)

US war on Germany....

The US conducted a covert operation to destroy the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines based on doubts that Germany would stick to a hard line on Russia, renowned American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has alleged. Last week, he published a bombshell report laying blame on Washington for several blasts that severely damaged the energy conduits in September 2022.

In an interview published by the Berliner Zeitung on Tuesday, Hersh suggested that Washington went ahead with the sabotage because the Ukraine conflict “was not going well for the West.” He added that Nord Stream 2 “was put on hold by Germany itself, not international sanctions, and the US was afraid Germany would lift sanctions because of a cold winter.”

The point is that Biden has decided to let the Germans freeze this winter. The President of the United States would rather see Germany freeze than [see] Germany possibly stop supporting Ukraine.

According to Hersh, the bombs were planted in June 2022 during NATO naval exercises in the Baltic Sea. “But at the last minute, the White House got nervous. The President said he was afraid to do it. He changed his mind and issued new orders to get an opportunity to remotely detonate the bombs at any time,” he noted.

Explaining possible motives for the attacks, Hersh suggested that some people in the US thought that the operation was going “to give the American economy a long-term boost,” while the White House was more focused on politics. “I think they've always been obsessed with re-election, and they wanted to win the war… they wanted Ukraine to somehow magically win,”he said.

Nord Stream 1 and 2, which connected Russia and Germany under the Baltic Sea, were damaged in a series of underwater explosions on September 26. On February 8, Hersh, a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, released a report blaming the US for the attack. The White House dismissed the allegation as “utterly false and complete fiction.”

However, in early February 2022, some two weeks before the Ukraine conflict began, Biden stated at a press conference with Germany’s chancellor that “if Russia invades… we will bring an end” to Nord Stream 2.

In the aftermath of the report, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov called for “an open international investigation into this unprecedented attack,” saying that instead, Russia is witnessing “attempts to silently wind down” such probes.

A bunch of people who disagree with each other on a lot of things have actually gotten together to organize a big antiwar rally in Washington next Sunday.  I say, Bravo!

In a nation as divided as the United States is today, a large rally of people who agree with each other on everything is hardly imaginable.

A rally by people who disagree with each other gives hope that a movement to stop war can grow, and even shake the political system paralyzed by the military industrial congressional complex and confusion spread by its servile media.

Abroad, the United States has exploited deep political enmities to provoke a war in Ukraine intended to split Europe definitively, cutting Russia off totally from Germany and the EU, cementing permanent U.S. control of Western Europe.

This divisive policy is pursued in all sorts of sneaky ways that make it hard to uncover and explain. The war in Ukraine creates division between those who have understood what it’s all about and those who haven’t. A large movement is needed to spread discussion, understanding and opposition.

While supporting the war machine’s foreign policy of divide and rule, in recent years the American political class has also fostered internal divisions to an unprecedented extent — some of them real, some of them more or less artificial.

The degree of internal animosity echoes the international hatred fostered by U.S. President Joe Biden’s geopolitical mindset.  WE are the GOOD (democracy), THEY are BAD (not communism any more, rather, “autocracy”).

At home, Democrats and Republicans, left and right are two different species, one species born good and the other bad.  The bad are inherently bad, with a contagious badness, so we must not meet and try to persuade them.  We must have nothing to do with them, and a political apartheid might be the solution. A sort of moral/political racism, creating total division between US and THEM reigns both at home and abroad.

In such an atmosphere, it is no wonder that the Feb. 19 rally “Rage Against the War Machine,” its organizers and its speakers, are being attacked for not being good enough.

Organizers & Speakers

The main announced organizers of the Rage rally are two relatively weak political organizations: the People’s Party and the Libertarian Party.  Their weakness should be a positive signal. Inasmuch as neither has the strength to manage a really significant antiwar movement alone, these sponsors are voluntarily offering the movement as a gift to all who take it up. So grab it!

Inevitably, however, the rally itself is being attacked, even by some opponents of the current war, on grounds of the political deficiencies of the organizers.

Could veteran activists be so petty as to be jealous that somebody else got there first?  I hope not.

Veteran socialist and antiwar militant Jeff Mackler has strongly condemned the rally as “reactionary” mainly because it is backed by the Libertarian Party. Its success would be a defeat for all enemies of the capitalist system, he has claimed.  At one point he observes:

“The Libertarians’ call for a return to a capitalist society where ‘free competition’ prevails is pure fantasy.”

For one thing, that policy has nothing to do with the demands of the rally.  For another, if Libertarian Party socio-economic policies are indeed pure fantasy, totally inapplicable in today’s world, they are nothing to worry about.

Come to the rally, try to find a Libertarian and argue. Libertarians are against spending billions for war, this is a point of agreement that could start a fruitful discussion.

Leftist militants who believe a man can be transformed into a woman should have no trouble believing that a libertarian might be transformed into a socialist.  Such miracles do occur.

Guilt by Association

Besides that, the presence of the People’s Party makes it clear that the Libertarians’ extreme free market policies are irrelevant to the rally.

The Libertarian Party quickly demonstrated its incapacity to lead the movement very far by its failure to support an important announced speaker against personal attacks — to the dismay, incidentally, of leading libertarians.  But the bandwagon rolls on.

Some critics of the rally trot out a favorite cliché of the self-righteous left according to which we must stay away in order not to “legitimize” rightwing participants. This “legitimize” threat is merely the other side of the “guilt by association” coin. Both are used to evade discussion of serious matters by treating political convictions as if they were incurable contagious diseases.

It is perfectly childish to claim that anyone is “legitimized” (or guilty) by random association, such as participation in an antiwar demonstration.

The Feb. 19 speakers’ list is very long, perhaps even too long for the time allotted. But the point is precisely to show a range of viewpoints.

However much I may disagree with this one or that one on somethings, or even on everything else, I am glad to see them getting together to stop the rush toward World War III.

When the subject is WAR, if you can join in opposition only with people who agree with you about everything else, you have lost the sense of common humanity.

The organizers’ list is short, too short.  It would be great to see ANSWER, Black Alliance for Peace, Code Pink and other longstanding antiwar organizations involved. No single one of them is strong enough to build a major mass movement alone — at least, so far, none of them have proposed anything as promising as Feb. 19.

The failure of Feb. 19 would not be their success. It would be a failure for all who oppose the war, showing that internal divisions can unravel every hope.

The rally is open. Everyone can share its success by crashing the party, arousing their supporters and friends, turning the rally into the broad, wide-open mass movement that can really begin to challenge the war machine. The need for peace is nobody’s private property.

Wherever you see popular resistance to war begin to come to life, go to it and make it belong to everybody.
