Treasurer Joe Hockey says he was not intimately involved in the set up and running of a Liberal party fundraising body known as the North Sydney Forum despite his name and image being used to recruit members.

Giving evidence in his defamation suit against Fairfax Media on Monday, Mr Hockey said he was "kept very much at arms length" from the activities of the forum, which billed itself as a vehicle to "support Joe Hockey".

Well well... Should I be a lawyer, upon these words by Joe, I would make sure the case would be extinguished forthwith... His admission does not actually dismiss the fact that some people had actually placed "JOE HOCKEY" for sale to a few bidders... which was diligently reported by the SMH... This is a neat trick used by friends of friends... They sell your house furniture and the silverware from under your feet...

Anyway, Joe may be the most honest person in the world, he was a dork not to sense something was amiss in his supporting troops... My unlawed view... And his budget still stinks...

And really, Joe should have been STUNNED by his "mates" fiddles... rather than the SMH headlines...
