Nothing to see here. I checked the websites of the NY Times, the Washington Post and Politico this evening and was surprised to see the story has disappeared. No longer worthy of coverage, I guess.

I also noticed that the wars in Ukraine and Palestine have disappeared — or almost vanished — from the front pages of the three sites. However, there is one story that is still being touted — the propaganda that North Korea deployed its troops to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russians.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to revive ceasefire talks to end the war in Gaza and pressed for more aid to be allowed to enter the Palestinian territory.

Blinken arrived in Israel on Tuesday on his 11th visit to the Middle East since the war in Gaza began more than a year ago. It is his first trip to the region since Israel escalated its conflict with Hezbollah late last month.

Dozens of Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in northern Gaza on Monday as Israel is intensifying its attacks on the area in an effort to forcibly displace hundreds of thousands of civilians as part of an ethnic cleansing plan.

Medical sources told Turkey’s Anadolu Agency that at least 29 Palestinians were killed in northern Gaza on Monday. Later in the day, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that at least 44 Palestinians were killed in the north, and a total of 57 were killed across the Strip.

The West should seriously consider placing “conventional deterrence”assets, which could include long-range missile sytems, on Ukrainian soil once the hot phase of the conflict is over, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu has said. 

In an interview with the broadcaster TF1/LCI on Monday, Lecornu weighed in on Vladimir Zelensky’s much-touted “victory plan,” which the Ukrainian leader presented to the national parliament last week. 

The plan calls for, among other things, an invitation to immediately join NATO, and the lifting of Western restrictions on the use of foreign-made long-range weapons for strikes against Russia. Zelensky also proposed that the West “deploy a comprehensive non-nuclear strategic deterrence package” on Ukrainian soil to keep Russia at bay.

Famed singer Lizzo has told Democrats that if Kamala Harris wins next month’s US election, “the whole country will be like Detroit.” Former President Donald Trump has made the exact same claim, albeit disparagingly.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Detroit on Saturday, Lizzo told the crowd that she is “proud to be from this city.”

You know, they say if Kamala Harris wins, then the whole country will be like Detroit, okay? Proud like Detroit. Resilient like Detroit,” the rotund songstress shouted. “We’re talking about the same Detroit that innovated the auto industry and the music industry, so put some respect on Detroit’s name, okay!”

I saw.

I saw the "world's most moral army" stage the death of its enemy like assassinating an avatar in a video game.

I have seen cohorts of voyeurs become accomplices through the eye of the killer drone.

I saw the embassy in France of "the only democracy in the Middle East" spreading the corpse trophy on social media.

I have seen intellectuals and political leaders of my country applauding these cheers of shameless barbarity.

I have seen some brave people being dragged to court for "apology for terrorism" because they had expressed a reservation, a discomfort, a nuance.

This is perhaps one of those documents that the Western political class has never read. In a remarkable interview, the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine said the following: "As long as Gaza does not revolt, as long as Gaza is not periodically bombed with the most sophisticated weapons in the world, as long as Gaza does not make the headlines of the world press, the world will do nothing to change this situation." What he said in 2019 is no different from what Hamas has decided to do on October 7, 2023.

Far from lacking a political strategy, Israel is fighting to reinforce the supremacist project it has built for decades between the river and the sea.

Two Harvard students recently revealed that it's possible to combine Meta smart glasses with face image search technology to "reveal anyone's personal details," including their name, address, and phone number, "just from looking at them."

In a Google document, AnhPhu Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio explained how they linked a pair of Meta Ray Bans 2 to an invasive face search engine called PimEyes to help identify strangers by cross-searching their information on various people-search databases.

It is difficult to reconcile new Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s expressions of concern for the security of his country with his advocation of an Asian version of NATO.

The two ideas are contradictory to say the least.

CBS News has said that it edited US Vice President Kamala Harris’ ‘60 Minutes’ interview to make her seem more “clear, accurate, and on point.”However, the broadcaster denied former President Donald Trump’s claims that doing so was “deceitful.”

In a preview of the interview aired on ‘Face the Nation’ earlier this month, interviewer Bill Whitaker asked Harris if she believed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not listening to the US amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Harris gave a rambling reply, telling Whitaker that “the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”
