Quantum mechanics is the mathematics of precise unpredictability. At this point we could associate this unpredictability with Pi. The reality of the circle exists, but our calculus goes into infinity beyond the decimal point in order to measure it. We accept non-finite values of the circle after having mathematically declared that the circle is a badly shaped square cut into a multigon.

A basic computer, even working at teraflops, is counting on and off electrical signals from transistors. These signals are translated into “computing language” [COBOL still?] which in turn is converted into what makes sense to us: English, Chinese, German et al. In modern computers these transistors are on the nano scale and bunched together in very complex chips. China and TaiwanUSA compete like crazies to create the smallest best chips…

The Quantum computers we are trying to invent, would bypass the on/off switches and use the flow of the atomic/quantum particles patterns to store and process information. My guess is that these are wave patterns in which unpredictability is defining a relative status — not a definite state. Porkies are thus relative to what we are prepared to accept.

These two sentences describe the same event-time and are in total opposition in regard to motivation description.

Are we faced by two realities, or are we weighing our prejudices with interpretations? We are. DW hates Putin and refuses to see Zelensky as a Nazi little turd — for many reasons. We can assume, and collect evidence to this effect, that Germany hates Russia for having defeated Germany in 1945. We can also add that Germany still harbour a secret guilt for the Holocaust against the Jews, and Zelensky is Jewish. Hopefully, AI would see through this fog.

We, Gus personally, believe in a different reality...PUTIN had to defend Russia against a massive WESTERN lie that used deceitful fascist NATO and other aggressive tricks — forcing Putin to act as he did so far — albeit with some extraordinary restraint.

One of humanity’s major problem is that we live amongst criminals — NATO included. We’ve known this for many years, probably since we were pushed out of trees by peaceful monkeys who saw us as an aggressive and deceitful naked species trying to steal their bananas. The legend of Cain murdering his brother Abel told in the bible tends to explain that we are all descendants of the murderer. It does not mean that we all are murderers, but our basic animal instincts are geared towards having fist-fights. Or get pissed like Noah, who for all his good points forgot to take the dinosaurs on board his big ARK during the biblical floods… He also forgot to take the lovely unicorn which by all means of evolution [of imagination] may have become a rhinoceros… Mammoths also got the cold shoulder from the pisspot Noah…

As we have become more sociable amongst ourselves, seeking justice and peace, we have MOSTLY chosen murderers and con-artists as LEADERS. This is stupid — or do we need these despicable people to fight the undesirables amongst ourselves or fight the invading murderers from outside our little gardenish plots?

Do our leaders tell lies about the “enemies” we face?

Yes they do and they are often doing this blatantly with vigour. They know we’ve been conditioned to accept porkies by the lying propaganda that has preceded the lies. It’s like placing square pegs into round holes. It works if you hit the pieces hard enough with a hammer. And the lies stay well in placed, totally jammed inside our brains…

Say Marco Rubio. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is using “crude lies” to justify Washington’s continued pressure on Cuba, the island nation’s foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, has said following the latest round of American sanctions.

I trust AI would say that Rubio is 80 per cent telling porkies using 20 per cent factuality. Our trusted Murdoch media love Rubio, We thus love him… Here we have to polish a few numbers of statistical voodoo. Rubio was NOT DEMOCRATICALLY elected. He was chosen by god… or such. A certain number of people do not like Rubio, but on the average, 35 per cent of people may support him and his lies, 27 per cent hate him and 48 per cent don’t know who Rubio is. So Rubio gets away with shit.

So, do we inherit our uncertainty and ability to tell porkies from nature itself?

Sure. This is why we, humans, find it hard to deal with the truth which is uncertain and confusing and invent a strange relationship with gods and demons, that are useless to explain why a circle is a badly shaped square — or why the light is both a particle and a wave, but not a particle riding a wave like a surfboard…

We’re a bunch of second grade actors reading a badly written script on a big stage where the looters, the killers and the deceivers become leaders if they loot enough, kill enough people and deceive more people than not — otherwise they go to prison.

Take the soccer world cup for example. This is the modern day bread and circuses [and cocacola]… Emperor Trump rules the caper with his red card appreciation and a thumb on the scales. Like his predecessor, he kills the people he does not like. He fools the voting referees with theatrical excuses worthy of Shakespeare being an alien from planet Zoirg. In soccer, the gladiators on the pitch do not kill each others but fight over a little ball that has magic powers. Many times, over and over, players use their Hollywoodian acting techniques to fool the referee with a fake tumble and innocent looks to claim their rights to kick the ball into a net… The crowd clamours… It’s a question of skills. It’s watchable nonetheless, especially the advertising. Without the advertising reminding us that money is the purpose of our life, we’d be nothing but dogs that sniff lampposts and watch life in black and white.

Special Envoy Jillian Segal has slammed ABC and SBS at the Royal Commission into Antisemitism for anti-Israel bias and called for a media monitor to vet coverage. Stephanie Tran reports.

Giving evidence to the Royal Commission on Thursday, Antisemitism Envoy Jillian Segal lamented that reporting on Israel’s genocide in Gaza “have created an impression of great negativity about Israel”.

“It’s the perception of the Jewish community feeling constantly that they are being faced with reporting about the Middle East, about Gaza, and about Israel in a way that paints Israel constantly in a negative light,” she said

Segal said there was a “disproportionate” number of stories critical of Israel.

Sad for everyone

“There are going to be examples on both sides of activities in a war, which all you know is very sad for everyone, involving you know unfortunate loss of life. But it’s the preponderance of the focus … on the behaviour of Israel, as opposed to the behaviour of Hamas.”

Counsel assisting the Commission challenged Segal’s criticism of the broadcasters, noting that since October 7, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) had not found the ABC or SBS to have breached broadcasting codes in relation to their coverage.

Segal conceded that ACMA “haven’t found a great deal of inaccuracy”.

“I do concede that they haven’t found a great deal of inaccuracy, but it’s the more complex, nuanced issues of prioritisation, impartiality, and objectivity and balance that I’m concerned to achieve,” she said.

Segal argued that the public broadcasters should devote more coverage to positive stories about Israel.

“We should find a way where they also run positive stories,” she said.

“They could run positive stories about other things Israel is doing, the amazing startup nation, things like that. They very rarely do that. There is no attempt at that part of the agenda.”

SBS too

Discussing reports that Israel was starving children in Gaza, Segal described them as “a very negative story” and questioned whether broadcasters should seek to balance such reporting with stories portraying Israel more positively.

Segal said that balance was “very complicated” but “if you wanted balance after that negative story should there have been a very positive story about what was positively in the Middle East to feed children?”

She said there should be “skepticism in relation to some information emanating from Gaza” and called on the ABC factcheck UN reports and “not just report it as if it was undoubted fact the first item and the news”.

Segal also criticised the SBS’s reporting on the death toll in Gaza.

“The statistics have now been reported as having not distinguished between combatants and non-combatants, and therefore were inflated, but my point is that they were put out there as statistics by a health ministry, as we understand health industries being objective, organised structures within part of Hamas,” she said.

Monitor public broadcasters, adopt IHRA definition

Segal proposed forming an “independent” committee to monitor the ABC and SBS.

“That it is a committee that is appointed without the community, as long as they are people who are aware of the and understanding of modern day anti-Semitism and modern day hatreds.”

She said the existing ombudsman and ACMC were “without teeth” as they do “not have the powers to impose or require reports to be taken offline”.

Segal urged the public broadcasters to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism.

“It would enable the reporters to better understand the conflation because it would be ‘are you seeking to make the point so much that Israel is different in its fighting at the war to other wars that have been fought by Australia, by America etc.?’ … So it would just help them in understanding it,” she said.

ABC editorial director Gavin Fang said the broadcaster had deliberately chosen not to adopt the definition because of concerns it would undermine their independence.

“The IHRA definition, the examples in the definition in particular, are contested,” Fang said.

“It is important for us to maintain not just our independence, but the perception of independence … adopting a definition that’s contested would not help us with both the perception of independence and our independence more broadly.”

Amanda Wicks, SBS’s director of news and current affairs, said the broadcaster neither “accepts nor rejects” the definition.

Wicks said SBS recognised the IHRA definition as “an important definition recognised by many”, but said the broadcaster did not determine for itself whether conduct was antisemitic.

“We are only ever reporting on antisemitism when it is determined to be such by police, the legal system [or] the community itself,” she said.

“We’re never in a position where something happens [and] we determine as SBS that that is antisemitic.”
