so far, the american/israeli beautiful war of choice was going on swimmingly......

Within hours of the US launching ‘Operation Epic Fury’ against Iran, Tehran’s forces unleashed retaliatory strikes against American military bases in the Middle East, killing four US troops and destroying billions of dollars’ worth of equipment.

”We will make the Zionist criminals and the vile Americans regret [attacking Iran],” Iranian Supreme National Security Council chief Ali Larijani said as the retaliatory strikes began on Saturday. “The brave soldiers and the great nation of Iran will deliver an unforgettable lesson to the hell-bound oppressors of the international order.”

How many bases does the US have in the Middle East?

The US operates a network of 19 permanent and temporary military bases throughout the Middle East, with the largest – Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar – hosting 10,000 troops and serving as the forward headquarters for US Central Command (CENTCOM).

The eight permanent US installations are located in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, and as of mid-2025, there are between 40,000 and 50,000 American troops stationed in the region at any one time.

These bases surround Iran from the west and south, and are currently bolstered by the presence of the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford in the Persian Gulf. These nuclear-powered aircraft carriers have a combined staff of more than 10,000, and carry more than 130 fighter jets.

All of the US bases in the region have been described as “legitimate targets” by the Iranian military, and facilities in six countries have already been hit by Iranian missiles and drones.

Which US bases are on Iran’s target list?Bahrain

Iran struck the US Naval Support Activity base in Bahrain on Saturday with ballistic missiles and Shahed kamikaze drones. The base, which is the headquarters for the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, was also hit by drones on Sunday, with satellite footage showing damage to multiple storage buildings and radar equipment.

In one video clip, a Shahed drone can be seen plunging into what appears to be an AN/TPS-59 radar dome, obliterating the $300 million system. Installed in 2007, the radar was described by Lockheed Martin at the time as “the only 360-degree coverage mobile radar in the world certified to detect tactical ballistic missiles.”

ran struck multiple targets in the Bahraini capital of Manama throughout the weekend, including Bahrain International Airport. On Monday, a US-flagged tanker was hit in the Port of Bahrain, causing a brief fire and killing one port worker.

Iraq

The US military base at Erbil International Airport in Iraq came under sustained bombardment on Saturday and Sunday, while drones were also seen impacting near the US consulate in the city. The extent of the damage at both locations is unclear. Iranian state media has claimed that the consulate was destroyed, and while the US has not admitted that the building was damaged, the State Department has warned Americans to stay away from the area.

In recent years, American bases throughout Iraq have come under fire from Iran-aligned militias during times of tension between Washington and Tehran. As of Monday, the US State Department has said that “reports of missiles, drones, and rockets in Iraqi airspace continue.”

Jordan

The Jordanian military said on Saturday that it had intercepted two ballistic missiles over Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, causing “no casualties but only material damage.”However, unverified video footage suggests that at least one of the missiles hit its target.

Dozens of American fighter jets, including F-35s, arrived at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base two weeks prior to the start of military operations against Iran.

Kuwait

A barrage of Iranian missiles hit Ali al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait on Saturday. While Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said that all of the missiles were intercepted, video clips show multiple plumes of smoke rising from the base, while satellite images show damage to several buildings. Drones were also recorded striking Camp Buehring, around 50 km north of Kuwait City, and Mohammed Al-Ahmad Kuwait Naval Base, a Kuwaiti facility used by the US military.

Four American troops were killed in an attack on Camp Arifjan in southern Kuwait on Sunday, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told reporters on Monday. Hegseth said that an Iranian missile “hit a tactical operations center that was fortified, but these are powerful weapons.” According to statements from CENTCOM, at least four others were wounded in the strike.

Three American F-15 fighter jets were shot down over Kuwait on Monday morning, in what the Pentagon called a “friendly fire incident.” US Central Command said that the jets were “mistakenly shot down by Kuwaiti air defenses,” and that all six air crew ejected and are in stable condition.

Qatar

Explosions were heard in Doha on Saturday, and ballistic missiles were seen bypassing American air defense systems and striking Al Udeid Air Base 40 km away. One of these missiles hit an AN/FPS-132 early warning radar installation, one of only six worldwide. In a statement to Al Jazeera, the Qatari Defense Ministry confirmed that the installation – valued at around $1 billion – was damaged.

Iran fired a salvo of missiles at Al Udeid last June, in a largely symbolic retaliation to the bombing of its nuclear infrastructure by the US.

United Arab Emirates

Iran has fired hundreds of drones and scores of missiles at targets throughout the UAE since Saturday, including Dubai International Airport.

Thick smoke was seen rising from Al-Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, while a massive blaze broke out at Jebel Ali Port in Dubai on Sunday. Al-Dhafra hosts American refueling tankers and reconnaissance drones, and Jebel Ali is one of the US Navy’s most frequently visited ports.

Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Defense Ministry has said it intercepted Iranian missiles over Prince Sultan Air Base on Sunday, and took down multiple drones targeting the base on Monday. Like Al-Dhafra in the UAE, Prince Sultan Air Base hosts American refueling and support aircraft, with more than 40 of these planes observed by Reuters at the base in mid-February.

It is unclear whether any missiles or drones hit the base, or whether any damage was caused by falling debris.

Iran’s attacks on Saudi Arabia have been focused primarily on the Kingdom’s oil infrastructure. Production was paused at the Ras Tanura refinery – the largest in Saudi Arabia – on Monday following a drone strike that morning.

How many US troops have been killed?

As of Monday afternoon, four US troops have been confirmed killed since hostilities began on Friday, all of whom died in the Iranian attack on Camp Arifjan. Both US President Donald Trump and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine have said that the conflict may continue for some time, and that more Americans may die.

Speaking to RT’s Rick Sanchez on Monday, former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik cast doubt on the figures coming from the Pentagon. “I guarantee you there’s a lot more than three people killed,” he said, commenting before the fourth death was confirmed.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Saturday to have killed or injured “at least 200 US military personnel” in the first round of retaliatory strikes.

Did Iran hit a US aircraft carrier?

According to unverified reports on Iranian media outlets, the IRGC managed to hit the USS Abraham Lincoln with four ballistic missiles on Sunday. The US denied this claim, with CENTCOM stating that “the Lincoln was not hit. The missiles launched didn’t even come close.”

CENTCOM’s statement does confirm that missiles were fired at the carrier, however.

BY Rachel Marsden

Just relax and take it, the EU tells Iran

Instead of invoking international law and condemning US-Israeli aggression, Western Europe’s top brass is gleefully victim-blaming Iran....

The common refrain out of the EU right now as Iran is being violated by the US and Israel’s giant missiles, is that it’s time for Tehran to just sit back and take it, and then reason with the attackers.

“It is essential that the war does not spread any further. The Iranian regime has choices to make,” said the bloc’s chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas. ”The Iranian regime must understand that it now has no other option but to engage in good faith in negotiations to end its nuclear and ballistic programs, as well as its regional destabilization activities,” added French President Emmanuel Macron.

France, in particular, has long hyped its support of the EU’s so-called feminist foreign policy, described as “a framework that focuses on adopting a gendered perspective in dealing with a state’s external action and diplomacy.” Does that mean when you’re walking by a guy unzipping his ballistic weapon and forcing it on a weaker nation – the exact same guy who keeps threatening to grab you by the assets – you stand there cheering him on while telling the victim that they asked for it?

“France, Germany, and the United Kingdom have consistently urged the Iranian regime to end Iran’s nuclear program, curb its ballistic missile program, refrain from its destabilizing activity in the region and our homelands, and to cease the appalling violence and repression against its own people,” these countries said in a joint statement. “We condemn Iranian attacks on countries in the region in the strongest terms. Iran must refrain from indiscriminate military strikes.”

That’s quaint. Europeans pretending that Trump and Netanyahu bombing Iran isn’t about doing the bidding of Trump’s personal and political Israeli benefactors. No, instead they say that it’s all about the Iranian nuclear program that Trump said he had bombed into oblivion not even a year ago, and destabilizing activities around the world, and law enforcement crackdowns at home.

So what does the EU do? Support the American regime that’s arguably more synonymous with all those things combined than any other country right now. To the point that the EU is ramping up its own defense spending, not because it’s Iran that’s talking about invading Europe – but Trump with his Greenland obsession, citing national security, just like he did in bombing Iran. And Venezuela. And they’re like, 'Iran didn’t dial down its missile production!' Weapons and nukes are the new short skirts that invite violations of autonomy at will. How feminist!

Well, did it ever occur to the Eurojokers that Trump literally just proved their point on that, by unilaterally bombing Tehran in the middle of negotiations? 'Come to the table so we can get the GPS targeting dialed in.'

And talking about “indiscriminate strikes,” has anyone on Team Trump world police offered an explanation for the bombing of those Iranian school kids yet?

The Trump-Bibi rape of Iran is still in progress, and Queen Ursula (aka unelected European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen) is already talking about the need to transition Iran to a fellow American vassal state – whoops, I mean “democracy.” Like she figures that a newly assassinated 87-year-old Ayatollah was the only possible thing standing in the way of 90 million people who were just sitting around waiting for that one dude to shuffle off so they can finally go twerk in the streets like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights intended.

She’s totally bought into – or pretending to have – the American propaganda that this decapitation strike means regime change, as though they’re even remotely close to the same thing.

Like, okay, party’s over! Time for democracy, guys! And the EU will play a role, she says, in shaping Iran. All the multiple layers of IRGC guys lined up in the various chains of succession can just go sign up for some EU-run civil society courses. How about mastering nation-building on your own nations first, before giving it a go in Iran?

The EU is acting like they’re ready to spring into action on some plan, despite Trump himself just admitting to ABC News that he ended up killing all the candidates that he had in mind to puppeteer Iran for him. “It’s not going to be anybody that we were thinking of because they are all dead. Second- or third-place is dead,” Trump said.

Why would Iran even listen to anything the Europeans say right now, let alone allow them to waltz in and muck around, when their reaction to Trump unilaterally pulling out of the agreement that they all signed under former US President Barack Obama to manage Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief resulted not in sanctions against the US for ditching the deal, but on Tehran?

Seems the EU brass has long been incapable of pinning any responsibility where it actually belongs. Maybe because they’re just one giant hive mind of Temu-tier telepathy constantly bleating in synchronized stereo about “destabilization,” not through Trump’s joint strikes with Israel, but through Iran’s insistence on merely existing on its own terms and daring to defend itself from those opposed to that notion.

But hey, at least there are still some folks who can think for themselves in Europe and are demanding sanctions against the US and Israel. Just kidding. They’re only upset that nobody asked their permission first.

“The US is currently operating outside traditional international law. Usually, justification for these types of attacks has been sought – either from the UN or at least from allies. Now, it has not been requested. It was not requested regarding Venezuela, it was not requested neither before the 12-day war, nor in this latest case,” said Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

And what’s EU buddy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney thinking when giving Trump a thumbs up on attacking Iran for “security,” even as Trump repeatedly threatens to annex Canada as its 51st state under the same pretext? Canada’s own top military brass has been talking recently about getting nukesto protect itself from the US, yet Carney apparently can’t see the parallels here. Even as Canada flips through the miniskirt catalogue.

Well, maybe Trump will take all this advice aboard from his friends and allies and ask their permission before invading Greenland or Canada. Then, in the interest of coherence, they can issue joint statements congratulating themselves on their liberation by Washington, and then call for a smooth transfer of whatever’s even left of their own sovereignty. Then proceed barefoot to the kitchen and make Uncle Sam a sandwich.

PRESENTLY THE FRENCH [MACRON-LE-CON] ARE SHARPENING THEIR NUKES...

France will expand its nuclear arsenal as part of the nation’s new nuclear strategy, President Emmanuel Macron has said. He argued that the nation can only ensure its security by being “feared.”

The EU and NATO have used the supposed ‘Russian threat’ to justify a massive military spending hike.

“I have decided to increase the numbers of warheads of our arsenal,” Macron announced, adding that “if we had to use our arsenal, no state, however powerful, could shield itself from it, and no state, however vast, would recover from it.”

The announcement came during a keynote speech given by Macron on Monday at a military base hosting the country’s ballistic missile submarines. He justified the need to review the nuclear posture by the need to adapt to what he described as a new reality, citing Russia’s ongoing development of its arsenal and China’s efforts to catch up militarily with the US as key threats.

He added that Paris will no longer disclose the size of its arsenal to make sure its adversaries are afraid of its potential. France is estimated to have just under 300 nuclear warheads – around 13 times fewer than Russia or the US, according to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Macron also outlined what he called a “forward nuclear deterrence strategy” that would include “circumstantial deployments” of nuclear weapons to other European NATO states, including as part of joint exercises. At least eight countries – the UK, GermanyPoland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Sweden, and Denmark – are interested in hosting French nuclear weapons, he added.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky stated last month that he would also accept nuclear weapons from France or the UK “with pleasure.” Earlier, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) accused Paris and London of planning to smuggle nuclear weapon components and technologies to Ukraine.

Russia has stated that it poses no threat to any European country. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said last month that Russia will aim its nuclear weapons at countries which host nuclear weapons aimed at Russia.
