Ten iconic buildings I'd bulldoze, by Treasurer Dominic Perrottet

Sydney's beauty is marred by some horrible architecture that could only be improved by the wrecking ball.

Perhaps I was too hasty when I suggested the old White Bay power station should be demolished. This week, I visited the site with Inner West mayor Darcy Byrne and my colleague Planning Minister Rob Stokes, whose transcendent wisdom and insight bestowed upon me, mere mortal, a fuller understanding of its historical significance.

It really was a great discussion, and most importantly there now appears to be a bit of momentum to give the station a more dignified existence than "derelict rave cave". After all, everyone agrees it cannot just be left to fester.

Read more crap from Perrottet:

Now that THIS ignoramus about heritage value has become chief honcho, developers are smiling like Cheshire cats with the cream bowl coming their way. It's time for all the people to unite against this possible Perrottet vandalism

In regard to the Rozelle Power Station, many decent proposals were made to use it as a protected set of unique buildings and I'm sure that Rob Stoke know all about these. But by what perrottet writes about, one can see his lack of understanding of the past. Not that perrottet is a man of the "future". His ideas are more crass than most of the old things he sees as monsters...

PLEASE STOP HIM! TELL HIM HE COULD BECOME KNOWN AS THE BUTCHER OF SYDNEY! Make sure he cannot start anything. Wipe his religious fundamentalistic smile out of his face!

Free Julian Assange now !!!!

protect public spaces...

Following the relocation and redevelopment of the Sydney Fish Markets  Infrastructure NSW is seeking the approval of the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces to change the city's planning controls to allow towers up to 45 storeys to be built on the former Fish Markets site.

The development will monster the foreshore, cast shadows on the solar panels of the new Fish Market and limit public access to Blackwattle Bay forever.
