Given his previous diplomatic form in threatening to ‘shirt-front’ Russian president, Vladimir Putin, it would surely come as no surprise if prime minister Tony Abbott didn’t paddle-out on his surfboard to personally enforce team Australia’s aggressive ‘turn-back-the-boats’ policy.

And with any luck, he just might keep paddling.
