Bush open to use of force in Iran
US President George W Bush has refused to rule out the use of force against Iran over the Islamic republic's resumption of nuclear activities. In an interview with Israeli television, Mr Bush was asked if the use of force was an alternative to diplomatic efforts.
Mr Bush replied: "All options are on the table."
"The use of force is the last option for any president. We have used force in the recent past to secure our country," he said. "I have been willing to do so as a last resort in order to secure the country and provide the opportunity for people to live in free societies."

From GusNews
It's obvious from Bush's first actions in the past, especially in regard to Iraq, that when he says "the use of force is the last option for any president" it's actually top of the list.

Unless George reads his list of options upside down...

So the use of force may the last option for any president but Dubya is not ANY president since he is a "war president"... Can that clown read anyway?

Did I hear him say "What diplomatic effort anyway?"...as he was about to fall off his bike once more... and declare war on something to prove whatever?

Will this be reported here?

Attacks double on US troops in Iraq

Army Brigadier-General Yves Fontaine, commander of the 1st Corps Support Command, on Friday said the number of attacks along supply routes had grown to about 30 per week, although the US casualty rate has declined because extra protective armour has been installed on supply trucks and other vehicles in the transportation fleet.
Most of the attacks, he said, are in the region that extends north and west of Baghdad.
"We have seen an increase in the use of IEDs on our convoys," he said, using the military's acronym for improvised explosive devices, or roadside bombs.

Roadside bombs or is the coffee particularly strong in that region?...

Interview: Fostering Muslim-West dialogue
[with Alastair Crooke]

Monday 08 August 2005, 17:32 Makka Time, 14:32 GMT

Alastair Crooke is a former official with Britain's MI6 intelligence agency who has worked in some of the world's most dangerous hotspots.

Q: US President George Bush says that extremist groups like al-Qaida
hate the democracy and values the West represents.
Is this a correct view and understanding of what motivates
such groups?

A: This is completely wrong. Muslims everywhere - and the polls underline this very clearly - reflect the same values: They do not hate our values, but they do hate our policies. The problem is with our policies and politics.
Polls show very clearly that Muslims support elections, they want popular participation in government. They want effective and good governance and they want reform. And these are the same values as European and American societies....
