Sir,

You have always fostered an image of care & concern for the members of our Armed Services, whether through speeches, fleeting visits to serving units overseas or by taking centre stage at Gallipolli.

Now you have an opportunity to match appearance with substance, by intervening on behalf of Mr Roger Harris, a veteran of two Vietnam campaigns on behalf of this country, who is currently being threatened with deportation by gestapo agents from DIMIA ( see link Vietnam Veteran Told To Leave Australia ).

You & your government were prepared to spend millions of taxpayers dollars on the rescue of an Australian citizen who hasn't lived here for 16 years & whose first words of appreciation were 'God Bless America'.

How about showing the same concern for someone who has genuinely risked his life for our country: honour him & leave him in peace?

Time to walk the talk.
