Time And Really Disturbing Invasion Suggestions
Amusingly, the most recent treatment of "nine-one-one" as a staged event was the plot of last Saturday night's Doctor Who.
Such a thinly disguised (fake alien ship crashes into Big Ben while government control is usurped from within) analogy would have been considerred audacious three years ago, but now the concept is being evaluated frequently.
If, in October 2001, anyone were to dare to suggest that the attack on the Two Towers may have been faked, in most circles of society the blaspheming utterer of such poison would have been branded a pariah. Of course, the plans for the 1962 Operation Northwood were not declassified at the time (see my first blog) so there was no publically known precendent of the U.S. attempting to hoax its citizens by creating false terrorism.
Unlike the Dr Who plot, we're not being taken over by aliens... just the political right.
