Blogslesson in political wisdom…IN RESPONSE TO THE DANGEROUS FOLLY OF THE KINGDOM OF PICROCHOLE, COMES THE WISDOM OF GRANDGOUZIER IN THIS SATIRICAL FRENCH WORK, WRITTEN IN 1534, GARGUANTA, BY FRANÇOIS RABELAIS. How Grandgouzier spared Toucquedillon humanely…. Toucquedillon was introduced to Grandgouzier, and questioned by him about the princely and affairs of Picrochole, what end he meant by this tumultuous uproar. To which Toucquedillon replied, that his end and his destiny was to conquest the whole country if he could, to avenge the offence done to his pâtissiers (cakemakers).
zelensky is a liar.....On Feb. 23, 2015, Robert Parry, the late founder of the CN website, warned that a U.S.-backed coup in Kiev and a war launched against the coup’s resisters in Ukraine’s east threatened the world with nuclear holocaust. It seemed an extreme position to take then. But does anyone think so today?
a no-brainer: vote YES......Australians have been able to witness the voter remorse that can arise when a nation votes on a specific question of policy in a referendum that has the potential to set their country on a new course. Referendum questions with that level of significance don’t come along very often for democratic nations but when they do the cost of getting them wrong can be far bigger than we might expect. Remember Brexit? Australians will regret voting No on the Indigenous Voice By Bronwyn Kelly
aussies — always singing and betting on war......Increasingly I keep finding myself singing, even humming or whistling the old Graham Nash song, ‘Military Madness,’ sometimes hardly aware that I am doing so. ‘Military madness is killing my country Solitary sadness comes over me, War, war, war, war, war, war.’ Of course Australia has always been obsessed with war. While still ‘opening up the country’ in the Frontier Wars, euphemistically called, ‘the drive,’ we couldn’t wait to test our military mettle overseas. Involvement in the Maori Wars (1845-72) was followed by an expeditionary force sent to Sudan (1885), with Australians soon back fighting on the African continent in the Boer War (1899-1902).
back to the treadmill......Ukrainian lawmaker Sergey Grivko has suggested using the country’s prison population as a source of electricity. According to the MP from the ruling Servant of the People party, inmates could use bicycle generators in exchange for shortened jail terms. In a Facebook post, Grivko revealed that he had “one of my creative bills registered” for consideration by the country’s parliament, TASS reported on Tuesday. He explained that he was aiming to “motivate 50,000 inmates to generate electricity with the help of bicycle generators.” The lawmaker suggested rewarding prisoners by shortening their terms by one month each year.
baerbock’s absurd comments violate china’s political dignity.......The Chinese Foreign Ministry has summoned German ambassador Patricia Flor after Berlin’s top diplomat, Annalena Baerbock, referred to Chinese President Xi Jinping as a “dictator.” The ambassador “was summoned to the Chinese Foreign Ministry [on Sunday],” a spokesman from the German Foreign Ministry told AFP on Monday. Baerbock made her remark while on a visit to New York on Thursday. Speaking to Fox News, she claimed that if the West allowed Ukraine to lose its conflict with Russia, this would embolden “other dictators in the world…Like Xi, the Chinese president.”
in need of federal protection as well....Robert Kennedy Jr reportedly faced an assassination scare after a heavily armed man posing as his security entered his campaign event on Friday. The suspect was allegedly carrying two holstered weapons and a US Marshals badge when he entered the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. He was wearing protective gear and had two spare ammunition magazines in his possession, it has been reported. He reportedly claimed he was part of Kennedy’s security detail when Federal ID approached him. Los Angeles Police later confirmed that a man was arrested for posing as a federal agent.
pour les pleurs et les cris sans yeux et sans oreilles.....It is not the great ones, but the simple peasant, Whom the earth knows as children complacent The earth does not like blood nor filth From tyrants and their impure hands comes nothing but blood and filth. The loving plowmen open nature’s breast with such beautiful colours, Make the streams run through the green meadows, In variegated enamel, through the wild flowers; By order and by compass the azure gardens Show to the laughing sky their measured earths, The mown flowerbeds, and the straight paths Ruler in hands, a straight line re-casts; They are painters, embroiderers, and then their large carpets blacken With grapes and turn yellow with spices from heaven; The shady forests, their more open dwellings,
refreshing: a simple YES will do....Anthony Albanese Cheap Seats:TV presenter Melanie Bracewell drops the F-bomb in front of Anthony Albanese leaving the Prime Minister stunned
Anthony Albanese was left stunned [GUS: NOT REALLY] after a TV presenter dropped the F-bomb in front of him during an interview.
make the voice referendum a success.....Tony Abbott’s prime ministership was short-lived and mostly memorable, for all the wrong reasons. But for Liberal conservatives in need of a feelgood story, the 10-year anniversary of Abbott’s landslide 2013 election win was an opportunity to let their greying hair down, with about 250 gathering at Sydney high school formal favourite Doltone House on Friday night to ruminate about what could’ve been... The revellers included several relics of the Abbott government – among them former prime minister Scott Morrison, Abbott’s treasurer Joe Hockey, current shadow treasurer Angus Taylor and desiccated ex-Tasmanian senator Eric Abetz.
when war had a godly reason.....The Massacre of Vassy (French: massacre de Wassy) was the murder of Huguenot worshippers and citizens in an armed action by troops of Francis, Duke of Guise, in Wassy, France, on 1 March 1562.
kisses from a walrus.....North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has received five kamikaze-drones and a Geran-25 surveillance drone from the governor of Russia’s Primorsky Region, Oleg Kozhemyako, the local administration has said. The gifts to the North Korean leader, who was on the sixth and final day of his visit to the country, also included a full set of body armor for assault operations, the press-service of the Primorsky Region revealed on Sunday. The state-of-the-art gear provides protection to the chest, shoulders, throat and groin, while being “much lighter than any known counterparts,” it added. The gifts were handed to Kim as he and Kozhemyako visited the Far East Street Exhibition on Russky Island in Vladivostok to inspect the hardware being produced in Primorsky Region for the needs of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
australia needs a VOICE.....This is a story of what a voice can achieve and how easily it is undone by external forces. A little over 35 years ago I was Council Clerk and CDEP Coordinator for a small indigenous community in the far reaches of the Northern Territory tablelands. I saw my task was to act as the intermediary voice – and I use that word in its deliberate current context – between the needs of the community and the constricting demands of the federal and NT Government bureaucracy. The local Community Council also believed my task was to listen to their voice, and to put it into, what was for the old ringers, a foreign bureaucratic language so the outcomes they wanted could be delivered.

peace now, please....The West must prepare for “a long war” in Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg declared on Sunday. Despite claiming to want a “quick peace” in Ukraine, Stoltenberg insisted that he still supports President Vladimir Zelensky’s goal of a military victory over Russia. “Most wars last longer than expected when they first begin,” Stoltenberg said in an interview with Germany’s Funke media group. “Therefore we must prepare ourselves for a long war in Ukraine.” According to media reports over the last two months, Western officials and military planners have conceded that Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive against Russian forces is unlikely to succeed, leaving the front lines mostly unchanged as winter sets in.
teaching BS to non existent students of devious politics....US President Joe Biden faced fresh criticism on Friday for claiming to have taught at the University of Pennsylvania. While the school paid him almost $1 million over three years for a bespoke position, there is no record of him actually teaching a class. “I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years and I used to teach political theory. And folks, you always hear, every generation has to fight for Democracy,” Biden said on Thursday, in a meandering speech at the Prince George Community College in Maryland. “Biden was paid $1 million, but he never taught a single class,” the Republican National Committee said in response.
