the new fascism.....

In May 2024, The New Republic magazine ran an article about AMERICAN FASCISM:

“No, no,” some admonish: “Don’t get carried away. Sure, Donald Trump is dangerous, perhaps uniquely so. But … fascist? The need to label him a fascist says more about the labeler than about Trump.” This argument has sprung from certain quarters of the right, which was to be expected, but it has also sprouted from the left, where a point of view has arisen that the “hysterical” invocation of the f-word is as much a danger as Trump....

IN REALITY, AMERICA HAS BEEN FAR MORE FASCIST UNDER BIDEN'S PRESIDENCY THAN UNDER TRUMP'S.. WHY?

the BBC wonkers are misleading the world with false information, otherwise known as BULLSHIT.....

Russia started the conflict in Ukraine and can end it "straight away”, Sir Keir Starmer has said after Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested Moscow would regard Western missiles being fired into Russia as a serious escalation of the war.

The PM is in Washington for talks with US President Joe Biden on Friday, as allies of Kyiv discuss giving Ukraine permission to fire their missiles at targets inside Russia.

Putin told Russian state television that this would “mean nothing other than the direct participation of Nato countries - the US and European countries - in the war in Ukraine."

"It is their direct participation," he said. "And, of course, this substantially changes the very essence, the nature of the conflict.”

the swift factor in the US presidential elections.....

THE SWIFT FACTOR — IT LOOKS LIKE GUS HIT A RAW NERVE AND THE READERSHIP HAS BUCKLED TO (IGNORED) MY POST ON TAYLOR SWIFT SUPPORTING KAMALA BEING ASSOCIATED WITH THE WARMONGERS LIKE CHENEY AND BOLTON — WHILE MAKING A STRANGE SIDE-REMARK ON ABORTION…

AS IF GUS TRAMPLED UPON SACRED GROUNDS, THE POINT HAS BEEN TO ADVISE MS SWIFT TO UNDERSTAND AN IMPORTANT ISSUE AND INFLUENCE PRESIDENT-IN-WAITING KAMALA HARRIS (AND/OR PRESIDENT-THE-DONALD) INTO MAKING A DEAL WITH PUTIN — EVEN IF SHE (KAMALA) THINKS HE’S A DICTATOR (HE’S NOT — THE USA HYPOCRITICALLY DICTATES FAR MORE THAN PUTIN EVER COULD) — AND LET UKRAINE DRIFT BACK TO WHERE ITS SLAVIC/RUSSIAN ROOTS ARE.

wet western dreams and russia's red lines....

Washington wants to see Kiev win the conflict against Moscow and join NATO, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said.

Blinken is visiting Kiev with his British counterpart, David Lammy, to reiterate Anglo-American support for Vladimir Zelensky’s government.

“At the July summit, we declared that Ukraine’s path to NATO membership is irreversible,” Blinken said on Wednesday, reminding his hosts that the US-led bloc has “established a command dedicated to support Ukraine’s membership.”

Blinken has made the case for Kiev’s membership in NATO before. However, the bloc has officially declared, both in Washington this summer and last year in Lithuania, that this could only happen “when allies agree and conditions are met.”

cheney, bolton, swift — voting for warmongering to protect freedom of abortion?.....

Sept 11 (Reuters) - Pop megastar Taylor Swift drew more than 9 million "likes" to her Instagram post backing Vice President Kamala Harris for president from celebrities that included Jennifer Aniston, U.S. basketball star Caitlin Clark and Selena Gomez.

Soon after Harris, a Democrat, finished debating her Republican rival Donald Trump on Tuesday night, Swift, 34, told her 283 million followers that Harris and running mate Tim Walz would get her vote in the Nov. 5 election.

playing with fire.....

Washington and London may have already decided to let Kiev use long-range missiles for strikes deep inside Russia and are now seeding the narrative through the media, Russian Senator Aleksey Pushkov has said.

Britain has already given the green light for the use of ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles, the Guardian reported on Wednesday, citing anonymous government sources. London, however, is not expected to announce the move publicly, the sources claimed.

winning death.....

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris won the debate. People being bombed in Gaza did not.

The banner headline across the top of The New York Times home page—“Harris Puts Trump on Defensive in Fierce Debate”—was accurate enough. But despite the good news for people understandably eager for former President Donald Trump to be defeated, the Harris debate performance was a moral and political tragedy.

news for you: humans are a peaceful species addicted to violence....

It would be unfair to describe SBS television as the Australian media outlet most addicted to violence. It would be unfair unless every other outlet were scanned for their saturation with violence. At first sight however, it would seem extraordinary should any other television channel share the SBS preoccupation.

deputies' pacific chinwag....

In recent days, Australia’s ‘”deputy Sheriff” role has been on full display again in our foreign policy. The prime minister’s extraordinary gaff at the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum, when caught out joshing along with US Deputy Secretary of State, Kurt Campbell, would have been noted not just among Pacific Island leaders, who would be entitled to feel belittled by Australia, but also across the region.

As the evidence of a slowing Australian economy mounts, Governor Michele Bullock quietly told journalists the RBA wants Australians to be poorer. Nobody seemed to notice except Michael Pascoe

war forever with "peaceful" kamala and the warmongers....

We’ve lived through nearly a quarter century of intense polarization with no clear dominant political party. Unless last night’s presidential debate changes the race as dramatically as June 27’s did, we could see an election as close as 2000’s based on the current polling.

But don’t say political realignments are impossible. Former Vice President Dick Cheney’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris completes a major shift within the parties, if not between them.

ignoring calls for peace and cooperation, and working towards the destruction of russia......

On Tuesday, the last US ambassador to the Soviet Union, Jack Matlock, said that the United States was engaged in an undeclared war with Russia and warned of the danger inherent in that. "It seems to me that it is extremely dangerous to attempt what is, in effect, an undeclared war against a nuclear armed power," Matlock warned.

After the fall of the Soviet Union, the United States never acknowledged Russia’s right to exist as a country or that it had legitimate national interests. NATO was focused on the Soviet Union for decades, when it collapsed, NATO turned its sights on Russia almost immediately, ignoring its calls for peace and cooperation and working towards its destruction.

a good offer that will be refused on stupid moralitee grounds.....

Last week, Vladimir Putin was speaking at the Russian-led Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in Russia's Far East. He took part in a panel discussion with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng. During the panel, he also spoke about Europe’s irrational decision to decouple from Russian energy and that he’d be willing at any time to negotiate sending again gas through the one remaining Nord Stream pipeline that is still functional.

the best friend the mining and resources sector will ever have....

Peter Dutton has invoked the Tony Abbott-era campaign against the carbon tax to label Labor’s environmental and workplace laws the biggest assault on mining since Julia Gillard’s contentious emissions policy.

In a fiery speech at a minerals industry event on Wednesday morning, the opposition leader will throw his weight behind BHP and the Minerals Council of Australia, which have launched a campaign against federal moves to give more weight to environment protection and boost pay for labour-hire workers.
