European countries have once again “taken up arms” against Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said, commenting on the increasingly hostile stance of many governments toward Moscow.

Addressing the constant calls to prepare for a presumed Russian attack – a notion which Moscow has dismissed as baseless – Lavrov said all previous global conflicts were sparked by similar aggressive actions from Europe.

“We are witnessing another wave in which Europe is taking up arms against Russia, and by the looks on some faces, even growling at Russia. After all... all global tragedies began with aggressive actions by Europeans: The Napoleonic Wars, World War I, and World War II,” he said in an interview for the TASS Children project released on Wednesday.

In the US, the freshly installed administration of President Donald Trump is attempting to drastically reshape science. Here we focus on interventions that are relevant to epidemiology and public health.

These include: (i) restricting or eliminating access to health data; (ii) dictating what kinds of research can be conducted; (iii) cutting ties with international health bodies; and (iv) firing early-career researchers.

Today, there is still a lot of racism in the media and in society. We face serious human rights issues, including the removal of children from their mothers, the high incarceration rates of Aboriginal people, particularly children and young people, in conditions that are very inhumane.

Australia now is not the country I grew up in, when openly racist, derogatory language was used. But there's more coded racism now. For example, the terribly sad issue of Aboriginal child sexual abuse is used as an excuse for removing children from their families.

There’s a lot of resistance to our rights being recognized, even the right to have our own national indigenous body, which should not be argued about in this day and age.

The public spat between Musk and White House trade advisor Navarro has shed light on a rift between key Trump aides over the US president's decision to slap tariffs on nearly all of the country's trading partners.

Navarro is widely seen as the architect behind Trump's trade policies, which are designed to boost manufacturing in the US.

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israeli forces have bombed a tent housing Palestinian journalists near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing two and wounding nine others while burning them alive.

At least nine journalists were injured. They are Ahmed Mansour, Hassan Eslaih, Ahmed Al-Agha, Mohammad Fayek, Abdallah Al-Attar, Ihab Al-Bardini, Mahmoud Awad, Majed Qdeih, and Ali Eslaih.

At least two of the wounded journalists are in critical condition, one of them with severe burns and the other with a head injury from shrapnel.

In a disturbing footage circulating on social media, journalist Ahmed Mansout can be seen consumed by fire as people and rescue workers tried desperately to put it out. Mansour is a father and a journalist for Palestine Today.

German carmaker Audi is halting deliveries of its vehicles to the US due to the new tariffs on automobiles imposed by US President Donald Trump, the newspaper Automobilwoche has reported.

Trump’s 25% levy on car imports took effect last week as part of a series of “reciprocal” measures that have rattled global markets.

A spokeswoman for Audi told the outlet on Monday that a letter had been sent to dealers instructing them to withhold all vehicles that arrived after April 2. Dealers were also urged to focus on reducing existing inventory.

Audi currently has more than 37,000 vehicles in stock in the US that are not affected by the new tariffs and can be sold, the spokeswoman said, adding that this inventory should last about two months.

In a move that stunned traders, analysts and policymakers alike, China has just announced a complete halt on all liquefied natural gas imports from the United States. A decision made abruptly with no prior indication, no phased reduction and no explanation beyond a terse statement from Beijing.

European stock markets fell on Monday morning, continuing a global selloff triggered by US President Donald Trump’s new tariffs that had already rattled Asian markets.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 index, which tracks the leading companies in the region, dropped more than 6% shortly after opening, hitting its lowest level since December 2023. Germany’s DAX tumbled nearly 10%, France’s CAC 40 slid 6.6%, and Italy’s FTSE MIB fell 5.7%.

In London, the FTSE 100 index of blue-chip stocks dropped 6%, marking its worst day since the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Every stock in the index was in the red one hour after the market opened.

Shares in defense firms and banks led the decline. German arms maker Rheinmetall plunged nearly 24%, and UK-based Rolls-Royce lost 12%. Mining and investment companies were also among the hardest hit.
