rogue state .....

rogue state .....

Early this year, the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation & Disarmament released a report that mentions Israel as a nuclear state, with ownership of between 60 & 200 nuclear weapons.Don't worry though! Even though there is vast & corroborated evidence of Israeli nuclear weapons the United States has not buckled under the pressure, Obama is still happy to look the other way. You can also rest assured that CNN, Fox, Sky, BBC & all your other favourite news stations will not see this as news, Al Jazeera will report it & probably interview someone intelligent & relevant but who watches Al Jazeera? So who is the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation & Disarmament you ask. Well to name a few of its board members, William Perry (former U.S. Secretary for Defense), Gro Harlem Brundtland (former Prime Minister of Norway), Jehangir Karamat (former Joint Chief Of Staff, Pakistan army), Klaus Naumann (former Chairman of the NATO Military Committee) the list goes on.The report states:'Israel differs from other nuclear states by not only withholding official information on its nuclear forces, but by having never officially confirmed having them at all. It is estimated to possess from 60 to 200 nuclear weapons, about 50 of them as missile warheads & the rest deliverable by aircraft.Depending on the estimates of the size of Israel's nuclear stockpile, it is either comparable to or exceeds the nuclear arsenal of Britain, as well as that of India & Pakistan. Israel has 50 MRBMs (1,500-1,800 km range) capable of striking, among others, targets in the south of Russia. In 2008 Israel tested an extended range "Jericho III " missile with a maximum range of 4,800-6,500 km, which took it across the threshold of being an intercontinental ballistic missile.Apart from missiles Israel has one of the most powerful air forces in the world; including 205 U.S.-made fighter planes capable of carrying nuclear weapons. A new development is Israel's acquisition of three diesel powered submarines, manufactured in Germany, with two more ordered in 2006, believed to accommodate sea-launched nuclear capable cruise missiles.'The report also makes a very interesting point:'What is the real-world likelihood, present & future, of the nuclear powers - the U.S., China, Russia, France, UK, Israel, or even India & Pakistan - actually committing or threatening such major aggression against each other on a scale such as to even begin to justify breaching the nuclear weapons taboo? The irony is that deterrence may remain notionally effective against those who least need to be deterred from breaching international security, while being least effective against those - like international terrorists - who most need to be.'Eliminating Nuclear Threats - A Practical Agenda for Global Policymakers

A little bit of logic and a

A little bit of logic and a little less of spin.

Nuclear disarmament is about as achievable as the Versailles Treaty - and just as honest.

IMHO when you introduce an all destroying military weapon, no matter of what type, it matters not who you favor with its knowedge.  Governments change - politics change - fortunes change - in fact the only thing that is consistent - is change.

Does anyone remember the Peter Seller's movie "The mouse that roared"?

In principle it was about a very small and insignificant "state" who just happened to come into the possession of a nuclear bomb.  And the world took notice - long before this was even thought of.

Does it all come down to the most dangerous military powers in the world (nuclear) and are they only major powers able to destroy any opposition to their demands?  Like the Zionists?

If that were the case then the "rumble" should be between them alone - not all the others who are "privileged" to have such a murderous weapon at the "touch of a finger"?  I mean, if the US/Russia pact to reduce nuclear weapons had any real meaning to the safety of the world, then what happens to Pakistan/India and all other nations in Europe and beyond who say they maintain their's for security?

Even if we had a more powerful alien entity which had better and more weapons than we, what would that solve? We are a goner anyway.

So far, no world power has been able to restrict the increase in murderous technology in nations who reserve the right to be above scrutiny especially the Zionists?

IF and I repeat IF, the nuclear threat could be taken out of the equation, what would be the result as to the attitude of the rest of the world?  The irony is that if we reverted to the "here is my sword Sir" we would be a lot better off.

Money - yes money - which took the place of honest trade - and we have progressed to Monsanto?

I do not provide answers only warnings and to imagine in this turbulent world of ours, that reducing nuclear armaments would  have any even miniscule effect on money or greed or Gold-n-Power is illusional.

God Bless Australia and let us continue the Rudd independence. NE OUBLIE.

'independent' ????

Hi Ernest,

Your summation on the prospects for nuclear disarmament is probably quite reasonable, given the history of the main protagonists, both in building their own voluminous arsenals & conspiring to infect other states with their disease.

Nevertheless, my reason for posting this particular piece is that it was our current Prime Meanster who was the prime mover for the establishment of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament back in 2008, which saw the organisation created as a joint initiative of the Australian and Japanese Governments, with the stated aims of reinvigorating international efforts on nuclear non-proliferation & disarmament, in the context of both the 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference, and beyond.

It may surprise you to learn that a well known labour mate & former Labor Government Defence Minister, Gareth Evans (that well know enabler of Indonesian aggression), is co-chair of the Commission. The 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) will meet at the United Nations in New York from 3 to 28 May 2010. The President-elect of the Conference is Ambassador Libran Nuevas Cabactulan of the Philippines & a review of the conference can be found below.

2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, 3-28 May 2010

The thing that interested me most out of the Commission's January report was its reference to Israel & its horrifying nuclear capabilities, which render any suggestion that Iran's alleged nuclear ambitions represent an existential threat to Israel entirely laughable.

How ironic then that the saviour of the western world, Mr Obama, grandly celebrates the tiniest reduction in existing nuclear stockpiles, whilst propagating fear about the dire threat posed by 'nucular terrorists' (shades of W) whilst piling-on more & more illegal sanctions against Iran, but has nothing to say about our Zionist friends.

As to our allegedly 'independent' Mr Rudd .... in my view, he is to Obama what Rattus was to W ....

Consider that no-one - Rudd nor anyone-else in the current government - has offered a word about Israel's nuclear arsenal & the fact that the Zionist state is a nuclear renegade .... a rogue state. And, a month after the Commission's report was published, our 'independent' Prime Meanster was busy imposing our own illegal sanctions against Iran, blocking legitimate trade between Australian companies & that country for no legitimate reason .... see here Kevin Rudd's secret war on Iran | The Australian

‘Independent’ Ernest …. hardly.  Hypocritical Ernest …. definitely.

Obama and Rudd were both left with years of misgovernment.

G'day John,  and I quote:

IMHO in this day and age, no treaties; agreements; NPT's; UN resolutions; UN charters; Maritime decencies; International Laws or any other attempt at peaceful solutions to uncivilized behavior will ever work when a rogue bandit like the Zionists in Palestine continue to ignore any criticism of their archaic-minded military, with ultra-modern weapons.  What could the Vandals have done with them?

My point has been John, that these efforts are always only as effective as propaganda if we allow them to be.  In short, it is a waste of their time if we understand that they are fooling us that our time on this planet is NOT running out if they curtail the number of nuclear weapons.

Nuclear power has been a political weapon since the disasters of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, which I saw in early 1949 as a young matelot.  The destruction of these cities with one bomb, and the subsequent sufferings of these people and their descendents - should have banned nuclear weapons then and for all time.

It is beyond belief now because the US/UK have done it again in Kosovo, Iraq and possibly Afghanistan in the most heinous of fashions - with depleted uranium - a by product of nuclear energy.  Dump it? No make it into a weapon and "share" it with your most defenseless “rag heads".

With regard to the Rudd government's attitude to the Zionist use of our passports et al, in particular to commit crimes. I did write to my Federal Representative who replied satisfactorily but, I wonder if I should make that public since it was between him and me.  If I get his permission I will do so - but suffice it to say that, with the political/financial limitations placed on all governments who allowed themselves to be controlled by the US Jewish Lobby and the European branch of the Goldman Sachs criminals, it was a reasonable reply.

Cheers John.  Ern G.

We have no choice but to call a spade a spade. Those who still have a pinch of common sense find it easy to see how little realism is being left in today’s world.

When American President Barack Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Michael Moore said, “Now, earn it.” Many people liked the ingenious comment; it was a smart phrase, even though many found the decision of the Norwegian Committee an example of demagoguery and the exaltation of the apparently harmless petty-politics of the new US President, an African-American, a good communicator and a clever politician leading a powerful empire involved in a deep economic crisis.

The World Conference in Copenhagen was about to be held and Obama sparked off hopes that the United States would join the world consensus in favor of a binding agreement to prevent the ecologic catastrophe threatening the human species. What happened there was disappointing; the international public had become the victim of a painful deception.

At the recent World Conference of the Peoples on Climate Change and the Rights of the Mother Land held in Bolivia responses were offered filled with the wisdom of the ancient indigenous nationalities, invaded and virtually devastated by the European conquerors who, in search of gold and easy wealth, imposed for centuries their selfish cultures incompatible with the most sacred interests of mankind.

Two news reports received yesterday are an expression of the empire’s philosophy intending to make us believe in its “democratic, peaceful, selfless and honest” nature. Suffice it to read the text of said press dispatches dated in the US capital.

WASHINGTON, April 23, 2010. - US President Barack Obama is examining the possibility of deploying an arsenal of missiles with conventional non-nuclear warheads and a very powerful explosion capacity that can hit their targets anywhere in the world in about an hour.

Albeit the new super-bomb, delivered by Minuteman missiles, will not carry nuclear warheads their destructive capability will be similar, as confirmed by the fact that their deployment is foreseen in the recently signed START 2 agreements with Russia.

The Moscow authorities demanded, and managed to include in the agreement, that the United States will remove one of its nuclear warhead missiles for each one of these missiles.

According to reports in the New York Times and the CBS TV network, the new bomb known as Prompt Global Strike (PGS) should be able to kill Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in a cave in Afghanistan, destroy a North Korean missile in full preparation or attack an Iranian nuclear site, ‘all of this without crossing the nuclear threshold.’

The advantage of having the military option of a non-nuclear weapon with the same effect of the targeted impact of a nuclear bomb is judged interesting by the Obama Administration.

The project had been initially undertaken by Obama’s predecessor, Republican President George W. Bush, but it was blocked by Moscow’s protestations. The Russian authorities had said that given the Minuteman’s capability to deliver nuclear warheads, it was impossible to determine that the launching of a PGS did not mark the beginning of a nuclear attack.

And this continues.

COMMENT:  Does this man gain profit from this or is it really calling a spade a spade?  I am inclined to believe him as a man who ousted a US puppet and gave his people independence.  NE OUBLIE.

spot the voice of reason .....

But still not so much as a murmor from any member of the current government on Israel's nuclear stockpile or the ridiculouness of any assertion that Iran represents an 'existential threat' to the poor downtrodden zionists. I suppose they are too busy organising their free junkets to the promised land to comment?

Just consider this latest contribution to the debate Ernest & see if you can spot the voice of reason.

A former Bush administration official said he hopes the United States will address the Iranian president's threat to “wipe Israel off the map.”

“Israelis are living under the threat of annihilation every day," Elliot Abrams, the Bush administration's National Security Council senior director for Near East and North African Affairs, said April 25 at the Baltimore Zionist District’s "U.S.-Israel Relations In A New Era" symposium, the Baltimore Jewish Times reported. "If the world does not act, I believe Israel will act, and I hope the U.S. will.”

Abrams: U.S. must address Iran’s threat to Israel

or …..

Egypt has declared that turning the Middle East into a nuclear weapons-free zone is the key to solving the dispute over Iran's nuclear program and said Israel must sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

"Success in dealing with Iran will depend to a large extent on how successfully we deal with the establishment of a nuclear-free zone" in the Middle East, Egypt's Ambassador to the UN, Maged Abdel Aziz, told a luncheon briefing with reporters in New York on Tuesday.

"We refuse the existence of any nuclear weapons in (the Middle East) whether it is in Iran or whether it is in Israel," AFP quoted Abdel Aziz as saying.

Egypt is to present a working paper at the NPT review conference, which opens at the UN headquarters in New York next week, urging implementation of a 1995 resolution calling for the establishment of a nuclear weapons-free Middle East.

'Israel must sign the NPT'

How long do we suffer stupidity?

 G’day John,

“Israelis are living under the threat of annihilation every day," [actually that claim belongs to each and every non-Jewish state in that region – as highlighted by your recent post - certainly not the Zionists] Elliot Abrams, the Bush administration's National Security Council senior director for Near East and North African Affairs, said April 25 at the Baltimore Zionist District’s "U.S.-Israel Relations In A New Era" symposium, the Baltimore Jewish Times reported. "If the world does not act, I believe Israel will act, and I hope the U.S. will.”

Always blame your target of doing what you are really doing yourself.  Media power.

Of course we seem to have history repeating itself – shades of Iraq.  Is it sufficient to simply “give a dog a bad name” to gain popular support for the once heinous crime of undeclared war?

The furphy of “Wiping Israel off the map” is interesting as time passes.  Mainly because just about every Muslim nation in the Middle East has been accused of making that remark by the wimpering multi-national Zionists of the illegal Israeli state. If they want to attack Iran – they just will.  And the world wide Jewish control of media misinformation will crank it up to complete the all too often deception.

We now have the true mode of operation of the Zion aggression/transgressions/murders and contempt for civilized behavior – let alone accepted principles of international law.

So they make a very lightly veiled demand to the Obama “awkward” regime that they are living under the threat of annihilation every day”!  Not again - Fair dinkum.

As usual, they want to destroy an independent Middle East nation before it can enjoy the same “benefits” of nuclear energy as all other signatories to the NFP – which conveniently does NOT include the Zionists.

But we know all that as fact so, I wonder if the Zionists were to present their case to the United Nations (NOT the US) on the basis that while they have been the consistent illegal aggressor in the region for some 60 years but – suddenly – needed the UN’s permission to do exactly that again – could they sell that to the world?  Could they?

Cheers John,  Ern G.
