An article on RT, pushes once more the idea that "climate alarmists" are cooking the sauce too much, and introduces the case of a repentant climate change pusher's mea culpa... It's a sad flip-flop...

Michael Shellenberger, a well-known US green campaigner, has sparked controversy by admitting that climate change alarmism is out of control in a new book and an article for Forbes – which, ominously, has now been ‘deactivated’.

Michael Shellenberger’s green and left-wing credentials are solid. He sought the Democratic nomination for governor of California in 2018, was named a Hero of the Environment by TIME magazine in 2008, and was winner of the 2008 Green Book Award.

 

As the campaigner, now 49, puts it himself: “At 17, I lived in Nicaragua to show solidarity with the Sandinista socialist revolution. At 23, I raised money for Guatemalan women’s cooperatives. In my early 20s, I lived in the semi-Amazon doing research with small farmers fighting land invasions. At 26, I helped expose poor conditions at Nike factories in Asia.

This article by Rob Lyons — a UK journalist specialising in science, environmental and health issues — is completely misleading... It should not appear on RT. It downgrades the value of this news provider.

 

 

For the last ten years at least, despite his green and left-wing credentials of his youth, Michael Shellenberger has sold out to the nuclear industry to "solve" the world's climate problems... We all should know that the nuclear option is costly, uneconomical and dangerous by most standards. The nuclear industry was never invented to "solve" climate change but to provide governments with nuclear fuel to make bombs with. For example, the more decent alternative to uranium and plutonium was thorium. Thorium would have demanded a different technology but the decay of thorium, though providing equivalent energy, did not provide bomb fuel... 

 

In regard to Michael Shellenberger it seems he has sadly become a fraud, not unlike Patrick Moore or at least he has become a quitter in front of the major problem facing the planet: global warming.
