fire and furyleaks...

The profitability and sales of Michael Wolff's scathing book about United States President Donald Trump appear to have come under attack by WikiLeaks, which has posted a link to a free online copy.

Fire and Fury has become an instant best-seller since it went on sale on Friday, with hard copies sold out in many stores within an hour.

Mr Trump has begun legal action against the author, seeking to discredit the book's allegations against him as fake and disputing Mr Wolff's claim that he personally interviewed the President before writing the book.

Now, in an unprecedented move, Wikileaks has posted a link on Twitter to a Google Drive document that appears to contain the entire manuscript, although it is unclear whether it is the final version that went to publication.

WikiLeaks has given no explanation for its move.

It is unclear whether it was seeking to undermine the book's sales or simply provide an alternative copy of the book, since it sold out.

insane but stable...

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday shot back at a blockbuster new book that claims West Wing staffers worry about President Trump’s intellect and fitness for office, saying she’s never heard anyone question his “stability.”

“I know those people in the White House,” Haley said on ABC’s “This Week.” “These people love their country and respect our president. … No one questions the [mental] stability of the president.”

She said staffers and advisers are committed to their White House jobs and fully trust and respect the president because “if they didn’t, they wouldn’t be there.”

Haley, who was the former Republican governor of South Carolina before joining the administration, said she’s never seen any evidence of Trump’s instability during her regular contact with the president.

genius at work...

President Trump demanded to know why the U.S. should welcome immigrants from “shithole countries” like Haiti and not from countries like Norway.

MEANWHILE:

Taking Medicaid away from people who are out of work would damage some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Among them are residents of rural areas who are struggling with opioid addictions and, as a result, cannot hold down permanent jobs. It will also hurt people who, through no fault of their own, lose their jobs and are not able to quickly find another one because they live in a depressed area or because economic changes have made their skills less valuable. Then there are people with chronic conditions like diabetes who do not qualify for disability, but are often unable to work.

“Even though sometimes I can get a job, you’ve got to understand — sometimes I can’t even walk,” Jimmy Brunson, a diabetic in Arkansas, told The Times last year.

It is not clear that the Trump administration can legally allow states to impose a work requirement. Experts say federal law allows the government to grant waivers only if they help to advance the aims of Medicaid, which is to provide medical care to low-income people. It strains credulity for the administration to argue that denying health insurance to people on the basis of their employment status meets that test. Public interest groups acting on behalf of Medicaid recipients are likely to challenge such waivers in court.

Maybe Americans shouldn’t be surprised that this administration wants to take health care away from the poor, given that it has spent so much time trying to wreck the A.C.A. But they should be angry.

intelligent, may be not... but The Donald is no hypocrite...

The man says what shit is in his shit-head... But he does not lie. Any other President would smooth the corners and tell one thing but think and do another... For example, Hillary lied more than a hundred frogs croak in a pond. By now Damascus would have been bombed or reduced to cinders one way or another — like Libya...

Daniels believes she is now free to discuss her rendezvous with Trump after her lawyer argued Cohen's admission of a $130,000 hush money payment was a contractual breach.

To make matters worse for the president, it's also alleged that Daniels kept (and didn't wash) a gold dress from the night in question. Reminiscent of Monica Lewinsky's infamous blue dress that was used to get a semen sample of then-President Bill Clinton, Daniels also plans to get a DNA analysis ran on her garment while reportedly fishing for a six-figure deal to retell the affair.

thinking like a high IQ dumb donald...

An eye-opening examination of the stupid things smart people do―and how to cultivate skills to protect ourselves from error.

Smart people are not only just as prone to making mistakes as everyone else, they may be even more susceptible to them. This is the "intelligence trap," the subject of David Robson’s fascinating and provocative book.

The Intelligence Trap explores cutting-edge ideas in our understanding of intelligence and expertise, including "strategic ignorance," "meta-forgetfulness," and "functional stupidity." Robson reveals the surprising ways that even the brightest minds and most talented organizations can go wrong―from some of Thomas Edison’s worst ideas to failures at NASA, Nokia, and the FBI. And he offers practical advice to avoid mistakes based on the timeless lessons of Benjamin Franklin, Richard Feynman, and Daniel Kahneman.

The Intelligence Trap,  examines the reasons intelligent and educated people make stupid mistakes. It was three years in the making as I interviewed the world’s experts about the reasons that great brainpower can somehow backfire, and the ways we can sidestep those cognitive pitfalls.
