the bonkers piss and wind diplomat...

diplomat

So, Australian Prime Minister wants to shirt-front Russia's President Vladimir Putin, does he? It is difficult to find a more blatant example of childishness, incompetence for the position, criminal intent, downright nastiness and an indication of a disturbed mind crying out for therapy. Don't the Australian people deserve better?

Dear Mr. Abbott,

After your reckless remarks and unfounded, slanderous insinuations about Russia shooting down a civilian aircraft and murdering Australian civilians we now have apparently a statement attributed to you by the media of your country about intending to "shirt-front" President Putin on his visit to Brisbane in November for the G-20 Summit.

Perhaps, as someone who was not born in Australia, you do not have a full grasp as to the implications of the word you used, or perhaps, as someone who is so obviously challenged in the intellectual area, you do not have a full grasp over what you say. There are three possibilities here, which I would like to address.

Firstly, you knew the meaning of the word "shirt-fronting" very well when you chose it and in this case, if you seriously think you can physically confront your guests and assault a visiting Head of State and walk away freely, then you are mistaken. For a start, the very use of the expression possibly renders you liable for prosecution for criminal intent and incitement to violence and in any civilized country you would be forced to resign for using it. Like yesterday. Next, while I do not speak for President Putin, if someone "shirt-fronted" me, then I would throw the perpetrator over my shoulder, slam him onto his back on the floor behind me, place my boot on his face and ask "What was that you were saying?" before I saw him scurry away sniveling to his sister's for a clean pair of Y-fronts.

The second possibility is that by "shirt-fronting" you meant "confronting", in which case in your position you should learn the implications of your words, because threatening a visiting Head of State is perhaps the most crass example of stupidity the world has seen since the USA, the UK and Australia murdered Iraqi civilians in an illegal and criminal series of war crimes, quite apart from being the most blatant case of irresponsibility demonstrated by any Australian since the slaughter of the Aborigines.

The third possibility is that you are full of hot air, or in plain English, piss and wind, and what you say, the promises you make, can be taken with a pinch of salt. Here today and gone tomorrow. The sort of "man" who feels the need to make teenage-type comments and threats against a visiting Head of State belongs in a grade school playground bullying the primary school kids...but like any bully, there comes a day when you pick on the wrong person, get your teeth smashed in and go running home to mummy blabbering like a ninny. Do I hear a collective cheer from the Australians as they read this?

So Mr. Abbott, if you hadn't made your puerile comments about President Putin and Russia, you wouldn't be defending yourself in one of the largest uproars in recent Australian politics. A civilized politician in a civilized country would wait for the results of the enquiry into the plane crash before mouthing off in all directions saying Russia did it.

Mr. Abbott, I invite you to put up, or shut up. Where is the evidence that Russia did it? I said, where is the evidence that Russia did it? Stop fidgeting, stop playing with Willy and answer the Goddam question. Where is your evidence that Russia downed the aircraft? If you haven't got anything other than hearsay to go on, then you have yet again made a prize orifice of yourself in public, have you not?

So when you confront President Putin with that line about Russians murdering Australians, the answer will be keep your slanderous comments to yourself and mind your own business, especially after your country took part in the illegal and murderous campaign in Iraq. How many civilians did Australian forces murder or torture over there? When you confront President Putin about Russians murdering Australians, ready yourself for a law suit over slander.

Russia, like every other member of the international community, deplores the death of civilians, whether they are Malaysians, Australians, Dutch or whatever and like everyone else called for a full enquiry. It is not yet clear even whether the aircraft was downed by a surface-to-air missile, an air-to-air missile or machine-gun fire from a Ukrainian Su-25, so wait for the enquiry before making your odious accusations and sounding like a foul-mouthed, despicable, pith-headed and uncouth, loutish oaf.

Mr. Abbott, what is wrong with this world is people like yourself, political opportunists who hold their people and country to ransom while they obediently kowtow to the lobbies which pull their strings. President Putin's popularity ratings are up above 90 per cent, that is ninety per cent. What are yours?

Yes we do deserve better...

no physical confrontation has been pencilled in...

Russian second secretary to Australia Alexander Odoevskiy said there had been no request for a bilateral meeting between the leaders, and Moscow was not expecting a physical confrontation.

"From my personal perspective, I would say that this is obviously quite unusual for diplomatic practice to go this personal and, we may say, this physical," Mr Odoevskiy said.

"Basically it's of no use and I think it's no good to hear this statement, and it's not just one: we have seen a lot of them in a row during the past couple of months.

"From the Russian government perspective, currently the president of Russia is getting prepared for the Brisbane summit.

"This is an international event focused around the economic issues, and as we are aware at this point there has not been a request for a bilateral meeting, either from Moscow or from Canberra.

Meanwhile:

Russia's first modern-day Grand Prix Formula 1 in Sochi marked a "personal and political victory" for Vladimir Putin, the French Le Monde wrote.

The publication traced the history of relations between Formula 1 and Russia. One hundred years ago, such competitions were held in Russia, but they were stopped because of WWI. The head of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone, wanted to hold the tournament in the USSR, but could only achieve the goal in modern Russia, despite Western sanctions.

Prior to the competition, many European and American media outlets tried to propagate the topic of canceling Formula 1 in Sochi. Yet, Bernie Ecclestone said that no one had asked him of anything. Holding the Grand Prix in Russia was absolutely legal, Le Monde wrote. In turn, German publication Tagesspiegel drew attention to the quality of the sports infrastructure in Sochi.

The article emphasizes that, in comparison to similar events in Bahrain, the event enjoys broad support among the Russian population and is not associated with the protest movement in defense of human rights. For Sochi residents, the tournament produces a positive economic effect for the local tourist industry.

It is worth noting that foreign publications put emphasis on the excellent organization of the event, similarly to the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. In addition, the event also showed that major Western businesses did not abandon their projects in Russia, despite the hype around the sanctions.

racketeers of the mediocre .....

Yes Gus.

Some 50 years ago, eminent Australian journalist, writer, social critic & academic Donald Horne observed that ”many of the nation’s affairs are conducted by racketeers of the mediocre”.

The lasting truth of Horne’s thesis is clearly apparent in the fact that the leadership capabilities of our current ‘captain mediocre’, Prime Minister Tony Abbott, are essentially reflected in shrill three word slogans & arrogant & emotional hyperbole.

The dishonest & manipulative nature of Mr Abbott’s cynical leadership behaviour was highlighted yet again this week by his clumsy & inflammatory accusation that Russia was somehow guilty of the ‘murder’ of 28 Australians through the downing of the Malaysian airline MH17 in the Ukraine.

It was left to former Australian diplomat Cavan Hogue to expose the lie contained in the Prime Minister’s accusation by highlighting the fact that ‘murder’ is conscious, deliberate & premeditated act on the part of an alleged protagonist; an accusation that has not previously been levelled against Russia in respect of the MH17 catastrophe & for which there is simply no evidentiary basis.

That our nation boasts a Prime Minister who is so ‘mediocre’ that he would deliberately pursue blatantly dishonest behaviour, simply to boost his domestic political standing, is evidence of a further sad characterisation of Australia by Horne as “a lucky country run mainly by second-rate people who share its luck.”

Tony Abbott: The chip on Australia's shoulder

12.10.2014

I would advise Russia's President Vladimir Putin to wash his hands carefully and sterilize them after shaking the paw offered to him by Australia's Prime Minister Tony Abbott at the forthcoming G20 Summit in Brisbane. It is not about Ebola Virus Disease, it is about the disease called insolence and Australia's colonial chip on its shoulder.

Thank God no Australian can be Head of State, that privilege belongs to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, because judging by the arrogance displayed recently by its Prime Minister Tony Abbott, it appears the political class doesn't have what it takes. Talking about the fact that, according to ABC news agency, many Australians would feel upset at the Prime Minister shaking hands with President Putin, stating "I absolutely take that point", Tony Abbott displays a degree of insolence, arrogance and incompetence which mirrors the intrusiveness, belligerence and chauvinism inherent in other members of the Anglo Saxon alliance in NATO. You know, that global terrorist organization whose budget is a staggering one point two trillion USD a year, each and every year.

When Australia isn't busy crawling around the legs of its colonial master, England or trying to crawl up the anatomy of London's master, Washington, participating in their wars to pick up a few crumbs thrown Canberra's way, its politicians are busy kowtowing to Europe and the USA making stupid and unfounded remarks about Russia.

And apart from the hand-shaking insult (I seriously hope President Putin washes his hands and sterilizes them after touching the grubby paw of Abbott), we have another example of sheer crass stupidity, namely the statement that "Russia needs to fully cooperate in the investigation into the MH17 atrocity".

The answer to that bullshit is that the atrocity happened on Ukrainian soil and it is not yet clear whether the aircraft was downed by a missile possibly fired from a position behind rebel lines, possibly not, possibly fired by rebels, possibly fired by Ukrainian Government or paramilitary forces or else downed by a military aircraft flown by the Ukrainian Air Force. In fact, why has it taken the UK so long to come clean about what happened? Does it take that long to doctor the black boxes, eh whatty what?

Russia, like every other member of the international community, condemned the downing of the civilian aircraft, expressed its deep sadness at the loss of civilian lives (including children) and like everyone else fully supported the international investigation into the horrific incident. So what exactly does Mr. Abbott mean when he insinuates that Russia has not cooperated fully with the investigation? Is he trying to say that Russia was responsible for the incident? Is he following in the footsteps of the Press of his colonial master, with their idiotic and slanderous headlines blaming "Putin"? Perhaps he would like to appear in the dock alongside them when the charges are brought, which they will be...

And now for other allegations and snide remarks from Abbott and other Australian politicians on both sides of the Party Divide about Russia's "behavior" in Ukraine, and those Australians who will apparently feel "extremely uncomfortable" at Mr. Putin's presence. Are they stupid, or what?

It was the new Ukrainian Government, not Russia, that staged a Fascist Putsch in Kiev, ousting the democratically elected President, Viktor Yanukovich. Do Mr. Abbott, those politicians who agree with him and the Australians they represent agree with this travesty of democratic principles? It was the anti-Democratic forces on the streets of Kiev, not Russia, calling for the death of Russians and Jews, and torturing Russian-speaking citizens, before the Putsch started issuing anti-Russian edicts. Do Mr. Abbott, those politicians who agree with him and the Australians they represent agree with this?

It was the Kiev-backed Fascists that committed massacres in the South-East of Ukraine, sparking the revolt of the population, not Russia. Do Mr. Abbott, those politicians who agree with him and the Australians they represent think it is acceptable to strangle cleaning ladies with telephone wire and torch a building with people inside, then jeer as burning bodies fall out of windows? Is this what Australia, its political class and people stand for? Why doesn't Abbott mention these atrocities in a balanced approach to the question? Either he is biased (incompetent for his position) or else uninformed (incompetent to hold his position). Why doesn't the Australian Opposition mention the truth as it obediently crawls behind Abbott's backside as he struts along the political catwalk?

It was the Kiev Putsch, not Russia, which removed the highest legal entity in force in Ukraine (its President), creating a legal void during which the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Crimea voted to hold a free and fair referendum over returning to Russia and becoming part of the Russian Federation. Russia has since increased pensions for Crimeans three times, and instead of banning and outlawing languages and cultures, as Kiev has done, Russia has enshrined the rights and heritage of all the peoples living there into the Constitution. So, Mr. Abbott, those politicians who agree with him and the Australians they represent are in favor of suppressing cultural expression and languages, and therefore applaud what happened to Australia's aborigines?

This opinion piece in no way wishes to attack the good people of Australia who do not take Mr. Abbott's side, nor that of the other members of the political class, against Russia. One only has to look at productions such as Neighbors and Australian Master Chef. In the first, a production mirroring the image Australia would like to project to the world, namely a community-based family-oriented people helping each other out. In the second, we see this is not only a figment of the imagination but reality, because the judges are nice to the contestants and teach them instead of insulting them and making them feel inadequate, like some other Master Chef programs. This opinion is backed up by interaction with my many Australian correspondents.

This is the true Australia and it has nothing to do with Mr. Abbott. Or his political friends and cronies. Once again, we see a country whose political class is divorced from the collective will of its people yet we see a politician who thinks it is cool to be rude, insolent, insulting, impolite, impertinent, unpolished, gross, unpleasant and downright impudent.

Mr. Abbott does not represent Australia or Australians. Period.

No sterilisation can remove the idiot stain on Tony Turdy's brain... Abbott should have resigned a long time ago or been kicked in the gonads by decent and fair Australians. Unfortunately, under his rabid stupid regime, more and more of them are hiding under a rock somewhere as not to be hit by his newly implemented stupid media laws...

Tony Abbott lied and made up stuff...

Tony Abbott received no official briefing from his department or special envoy suggesting they were confident early acoustic noises detected in the search for the missing flight MH370 were from the flight’s black box.

In a Senate hearing on Monday night the Greens leader, Christine Milne, asked how the Australian prime minister came to make a statement suggesting the search had been substantially narrowed and questioned whether he had acted recklessly.

Tony Abbott lies... He invent anything, not even plausible, to augment the size of his budgies... Everywhere you turn, Abbott lies. He lies. Unfortunately, this ability has spread to most of the other idiots on his cabinet since they support him. Not only they lie as well, they are also arrogant and destructive, while playing a mugs' game... Cormann being a case in point of arrogance plus, as well as being a liar about the effects of "his" silly budget talk since Joe has been more or less sidelined by his silly comments as well. Bunch of idiots.

not speaking for me and many others, though...

Australia’s prime minister, Tony Abbott, has vowed to have a robust conversation with Vladimir Putin at the Apec summit to ensure the Russian president guarantees he’s doing everything possible to assist investigations into the MH17 disaster.

The Kremlin has confirmed that Putin will hold formal talks with Abbott in Beijing but says the meeting “will be short”.

Speaking before his departure for the summit, Abbott did not repeat his earlier threats to “shirtfront” Putin but said he would take a strong message from the Australian people.

He said he would seek Putin’s personal assurance that MH17 wasn’t swept under the carpet or forgotten.

“I will speak for our dead, I will speak for our nation, I will speak for decency and for humanity in stating to the Russian president he owes it to us, he owes it to our common humanity to ensure that justice is done,” he told reporters in Melbourne.

Keep your combative aggressive budgies in your threatening red pants, Tony... You are not speaking for ALL Australians. Some of us understand diplomacy and reality far better than you do. Please, do not talk of "humanity" when you in-cage refugees on various island to satisfy your idiotic views of the world.

still laughing...

Tony Abbott's threat to "shirtfront" Vladimir Putin caused such a sensation that Russian and American diplomats were still having fun with it 10 months later.
Russia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Sergei Lavrov, teased his Australian counterpart, Julie Bishop, in an international meeting in August, wondering when Abbott would get around to carrying out his threat.
"Is your prime minister still going to shirtfront my president?" Lavrov asked Bishop in his gravelly, heavily accented English at a meeting of foreign affairs ministers from 10 nations.
The US Secretary of State, John Kerry, jumped in. Yeah, he said, "we've been putting money on the result and we're backing Putin," he announced to some levity.
Bishop shut down the fun with a curt, "Thank you for that, John" and returned the discussion to the agenda for the meeting of the Asean Regional Forum ministerial meeting on August 6 in Kuala Lumpur.
