dickhead & dickhead: making awstrayla proud .....

 making awstrayla proud .....

Two bad boys of Australian swimming are in hot water again for posting online photos of themselves posing in a gun shop in the United States.

Swimming Australia has ordered London Olympics team members Nick D'Arcy and Kenrick Monk to take down from Facebook and Twitter photos posing provocatively with pistols and shotguns in a shop in America.

The pair were in California recently for a swim meet with other members of the Olympic team, including Stephanie Rice and Meagen Nay.

A Swimming Australia spokesman said there was no plan for further sanction against either athlete at this stage.

"Swimming Australia became aware of inappropriate photos posted on athletes' Facebook pages and Twitter accounts this morning, and instantly contacted the athletes involved to ask for them to be removed under Swimming Australia's Social Media Guidelines," the organisation said in a statement.

"The photos have been removed. Swimming Australia does not condone the posting of inappropriate content on Facebook, Twitter or any social media platform, and this is a timely reminder for athletes to be more responsible to themselves, the public with whom they engage through social media, and the reputation of the sport."

D'Arcy and Monk have been the subjects of controversy before.

D'Arcy was convicted of assaulting former swimmer Simon Cowley in 2008 and was subsequently kicked off the Australian team named for the 2008 Olympics and then banned from the world championships the following year.

Monk ran into trouble last year after claiming he broke his elbow after being hit by a car in a hit-and-run incident before admitting he actually fell off his skateboard.

He surprised many by qualifying for his second Olympics so soon after recovering from the injury.

D'Arcy & Monk Fire Up Swimming Australia With Gun Photo

How many times must Nick D'Arcy demonstrate that he is not fit to represent Swimming or Australia before our nation's sporting supremos will act to remove him from our national team?

The continuing presence of both these clowns in the Australian team must have a highly debilitating effect on the morale & ultimately the performance of the rest of our wonderful athletes.

Both of these spoilt brats are a disgrace.

go away & stay away .....

Nick D'Arcy and Kenrick Monk will be sent home from the London Olympics immediately after the final day of the swimming events as punishment for posting inappropriate images on social network sites this week.

The Australian Olympic Committee has decided to send the duo back to Australia at the conclusion of their commitments in London as a result of images posted of the two swimmers brandishing guns while competing in California a fortnight ago. The pair were quickly tagged "Dumb and Dumber" after an image became public. D'Arcy and Monk have also been banned from blogging and using any social media sites throughout the games, including Twitter and Facebook.

In a letter sent to both athletes, Chef de Mission, Nick Green stated that previous behavioural issues of the two swimmers had been taken into account by the AOC.

"Given this incident and our previous discussions concerning your conduct, I now have concerns regarding your lack of judgment," Green said. "As a member of the 2012 Australian Olympic Team, and as I have reminded you on previous occasions, it is an honour and a privilege to be a member of an Australian Olympic Team.  Australian Olympians are required to meet very high standards of conduct and we cannot risk the reputation of the Team through non-compliance with the Team Membership Agreement," Green said.

D'Arcy and Monk will be withdrawn from the athletes village in London on August 4.

'Dumb & Dumber' To Be Sent Home Early From London

With 60% of respondents to the SMH poll on the duo’s behaviour indicating that it was  just ‘just a bit of fun & not a big deal at all’, we may as well leave them in London & tell them to do whatever they like … no wonder our society is buggered.

Bob Katter says Australia's "thought police have gone too far" in pillorying our Olympic swimmers for being pictured with legal firearms.

Mr Katter, the member for Kennedy, stepped in to defend controversial Sunshine Coast swimmer Nick D'Arcy saying political correctness has gone too far when men have to "apologise for being men", reports The North West Star.

Mr Katter took aim at the "thought police" for the criticism of D'Arcy and fellow Olympian Kenrick Monk, after the pair were criticised when Monk posted a photo on Facebook of the pair branding firearms in a United States gun shop.

The swimmers were remorseful when they confronted the media at Brisbane Airport this morning after arriving back in Australia after a three-week training camp in the US.

But Mr Katter said the criticism of the swimmers behaviour, who he describes as "sporting heroes", as offensive to responsible gun users.

"What have we become, when two Australian Olympic Swimmers can been vilified for being photographed with legal firearms in the US?' he said.

"Are we serious? The real crime here is the 'thought police' stripping us of the right for boys to be boys.

"Will they finally be happy when men can only be photographed at a day spa carrying their designer chihuahua in a designer Louis Vuitton doggy handbag?

Ah, Katter does not "mince" his words, does he?... Actually as soon as the Olympics are over, the two boys should enlist as troopers in the army or the navy — may be in the elite diving team... Great promotion for the forces, though one would hope they'd never be officer material...
