dieting porky pig does not even pretend to be himself…..

Scott Morrison has again taken a swipe at Anthony Albanese's recent transformation as he declared "leopards don't change their spots even if they change their glasses".

The Prime Minister on Tuesday doubled down on his comments that unlike the Opposition Leader he was not trying to pretend to be someone he is not as he made a pitch to Western Australian voters while visiting the state.

Mr Morrison referenced a speech Mr Albanese delivered last week in which the Labor leader said, if elected as Prime Minister, he would take his lead from Bob Hawke, who led the nation between 1983 and 1991.

Mr Albanese said he also was in agreement with comments former Liberal Prime Minister John Howard had made about economic reform.

China’s entry into the World Trade Organization in 2001 had huge ramifications for the global trading system and in shaping the events that have led to today’s U.S.-China trade war, explains author Paul Blustein in his new book, “Schism: China, America, and the Fracturing of the Global Trading System.” But Blustein, a senior fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, argues that the Trump administration actually poses a bigger threat to the system with its decision to “flagrantly violate” WTO rules.

During his much-advertised "major" speech in Poland, the American president praised Ukraine's fight against Russian troops carrying out a special military operation on its territory and called on the West to prepare for a long confrontation between democracies with "autocracies".

US President Joe Biden did not call for regime change in Russia during his speech in Warsaw on 26 March, a White House official has stated after POTUS said that "this man cannot remain in power", referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

ukraine and the jews…..

The story of humanity is mostly related between conquests and victims. In this division of events, victims of wrongdoing are often perceived to have elevated moral character compared to non-victims and especially to their “oppressors”.  There has been quite a few psychological experiments about how victims also disclose their narratives in regard to "justice restoration” which often is abuse of status designed to blame others.

At the level of ethnic groups, and entire population having been victimised and being victimised, we can see how the narratives have been distorted to apportion blame to what or whom led to the victimisation. One of the groups that has managed the “victim status” with brilliance has been the Jews.

putin's (alleged) retirement plan...

If you believe the Western media including The New York Post, Putin will retire on this glorious boat. With all the "intelligence" agencies of the West after his blood (not to give a single pint to the Red Cross, mind you), his real boat would be more like a navy destroyer with unmatched weaponry. And his "Castle" as described by Navalny would be more like a bunker with all mod comforts, about 1,000 metres below ground, near the north pole.

But it's worth the tour...

Western media and cultural figures have long compared the US’ official enemies to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. Most recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been the target of such attacks, which have dramatically increased since the Kremlin launched its special military operation in Ukraine last month.

Russia launched an operation in February to demilitarise Ukraine after receiving a formal request for assistance from the newly recognised Donbass republics, who faced weeks of escalating shelling, sabotage and sniper attacks by Ukrainian forces.

Ukraine's air and air defence forces have been almost completely destroyed, and the country's navy has in effect ceased to exist, according to the chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff, Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy.

What do I think? Does God make sense? To me, honestly, nothing makes sense! God? No God? Both hit circularities, regresses, dead-ends. Arguments? I love them all, but in the end, they all falter. Theistic arguments, atheistic arguments — none are dispositive. I’ve (half) joked that if I had to chose, I’d have to say that I find the atheistic arguments more palatable to swallow but the theistic conclusion more satisfying to digest.

“While the US succeeded in goading the Russian government to take the first shot, it is clear that the war in Ukraine is the first stage of a much broader conflict. Having provoked the Russian government into a desperate and disastrous invasion of Ukraine, the United States is using the war to reassert its global hegemony, building a war coalition for what the United States has termed “great power conflict” targeting not only Russia, but China as well.”  Andre Damon, World Socialist Web Site

Journalism is about telling stories that are current and relevant to people’s life. Such information also is at the core of recording history… On politics, journalism is supposed to be objective, but it never is. NEVER. Show me a journalist who claims political objectivity and I will show you a liar...

Journalists differ from historians recording of current events. Journalists rarely investigate the historical contexts nor the manipulations from the sources of their information. Historians have to dig below the events and see the greater picture of information influences.

remembering belgrade…..

Thursday marks the 23rd anniversary of the start of the 1999 NATO bombardment of Yugoslavia. In 78 days, NATO jets conducted 2,300 sorties, dropping 420,000 missiles and bombs, including cluster munitions and depleted uranium rounds. Up to 5,700 people were killed, with tens of thousands more diagnosed with cancers in the years that followed.

Before entering the Oval Office as Barack Obama’s vice president and then as president himself, Joe Biden served as a United States senator for over 30 years. Ahead of, during and after the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, Biden was consistently one of the top hawks in Washington pushing for the conflict to be expanded into a full-on ground invasion.

about trade and economy — the china shock.....

It is our view (Gus’ and his old toothless mates who keep mentioning “in my day…” in the local retirement village) that the West became somewhat lazy on manufacturing and invention. The West has relied mostly on economic fiddles to survive and/or maintain the bourgeois life-style which is going down the drain in many places — as the new generations are often claimed to be “poorer than the baby boomers".

The Pentagon is engaged in a consequential battle with the U.S. State Department and the Congress to prevent a direct military confrontation with Russia, which could unleash the most unimaginable horror of war.

President Joe Biden is caught in the middle of the fray. So far he is siding with the Defense Department, saying there cannot be a NATO no-fly zone over Ukraine fighting Russian aircraft because “that’s called World War III, okay? Let’s get it straight here, guys. We will not fight the third world war in Ukraine.”
