lost & found .....

lost & found .....

from Crikey .....

Found in my letterbox today a Liberal pamphlet spruiking Tony Abbott and 'Bennelong is my second choice' Liberal Candidate John Alexander. The set photo shot has the two of them pointing at a map of the Bennelong electorate.

Such a shame that the focus of both their attention is an area outside the electorate -- if fact if you look closely enough the two of them seem to pointing at an area inside the seat of Bradfield.

And yes, can it be?

They seem to have spotted Wolseley Road in Lindfield - where I understand Alexander still resides, despite promises at his pre-selection that he would move into Bennelong.

political tennis...

I thought the Liberals had a twelve point plan before... What happened to the other six doozies? and of the six presented here as "problems", five and a half are being dealt with real progress by Julia's government, so what's the beef?

Reduce debt — The government is doing this at an acceptable pace and far better than any other western world countries. Yes we can reduce the debt faster but it would hurt too many people — especially the most disadvantaged — in doing so.

Encourage small business — Small business are not doing too bad at the moment. The government has done this with the  stimulus plan, and is doing more by reducing business tax — apart from mining Tax, since the miners are doing superbly. Of course the fair work practices brought in by Julia do far more in the protection of business and workers than the enforced slavery under Tony's work choices: You work for less, you starve or you work for the dole...

Protecting the environment — the Labor government, although not ideal in some quarters of conservation, is doing far more than the Liberals ever did on this subjet. And Labor will do far more on this subjecy than the Libs...

Stop illegal immigration — that is now Julia Gillard's priority. But please remember that no-one, not even John Howard and his racist policies — and ministers— managed to STOP illegals from coming by boats or by planes.

Protect private health: we all know where this is coming from. greed and mates. 30 per cent of "private health cover" is coming from the government anyway. Private health insurances are fairydusted by the Liberals to become like US private health insurances, the exact same ones Obama is trying to bypass, in order to help the most disadvantaged sections of the community. say that, presently and in the future, the Labor government is not going to destroy "private health insurance" anyway.

Securing water: In context, this does not mean much... beyond Tony making sure that a few privileged Liberal geezeers dressed in RM Williams gear, get more than their share — and this Liberal idea means there would be far less water for natural reserves and parks — contradicting the "protecting the environment" promise... Unless Tony produces a miracle which he can't, — droughts becoming more frequent due to climate change...

Yes, Tony lies! So, why does a decent former tennis player — with what I hoped was a sense of fair play — join the ratbag Liberal party and tarnish his reputation? Mates? Does John Alexander really believe in Tony's clap trap?... Not possible.

Once there was something called a political football... Now we have political tennis... The mind boggles...
