the american psyche .....

the american psyche .....

Panorama investigates claims that as much as $23bn (£11.75bn) may have been lost, stolen or not properly accounted for in Iraq.

There are contracts for caterers, tanker drivers, security guards and even interrogators, many of them through companies with links to the White House. Now more than 70 whistleblower cases threaten to reveal the scandals behind billions of dollars worth of waste, theft and corruption during the Iraq war.

The US justice department has imposed gagging orders which prevent the real scale of the problem emerging.

When The US Goes To War, Corporate America Goes Too

will we ever learn ….

“...Only twenty-four at the (Civil) war's beginning, (J. Pierpont) Morgan perceived from the first that wars were for the shrewd to profit from and poor to die in,” wrote Robert Boyer and Herbert Morais in Labor’s Untold Story.  “He received a tip that a store of government-owned rifles had been condemned as defective and with the simplicity of genius he bought them from the government for $17,500 on one day and sold them back to the government on the next for $110,000. A Congressional committee investigating his little deal said of him and other hijacking profiteers, ‘Worse than traitors are the men who, pretending loyalty to the flag, feast and fatten on the misfortunes of the nation.’”

ho hum …..

War Inc

the god of profit .....

Wealth and accumulation of property, for the few with connections to succeed in reaching out and grabbing the brass ring, was and remains America’s manifest destiny.

America fought as a nation united under the banner of noble capitalist purposes and defeated fascism and communism. Capitalist profits hold no loyalties or national identities. It’s unrestricted freedom. That’s what American soldiers fought and died for throughout our entire American history. It’s the definition, the very core, of liberty.

Brave soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice over and over again and did not complain like the liberal ingrates that infest our great nation today. Our brave patriots asked their betters how they could help safeguard the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the security of their profits, even at the cost of their very lives, instead of just asking, or begging, for their piece of the pie.

And the entire pie went, rightfully, to those that remained at home crafting foreign and domestic policy, and used their capital and assets to vastly increase their capital and assets. It’s the American Way. It’s what our soldiers died for.

And if you think corporations should be regulated or held accountable to anyone or any government, or that corporate profits be restricted or taxed, then you are sullying the memory of every brave soldier in America’s grand history and you should feel ashamed of yourself.
