retiring royalThe Evening Standard newspaper said the Prince would complete a six-week secondment to an Australian military unit before he leaves the army. Following his secondment, the Prince is expected to join his father Prince Charles at the 100th anniversary Anzac Day dawn service in Gallipoli. "The Prince thought long and hard about his decision to leave active military service but, having served his country on two tours of duty, he felt the time was right to leave. He has loved his time serving," a senior source told the Standard. read more: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-02-28/prince-harry-to-quit-armed-forces/6270588 Makes my old republican eyes water with fondness like carpet stain remover. cricket and war...
Meanwhile our Turd in Chief stopped talking unilaterally to us morons, as he listened for five minutes to his Kiwi "counterpart" before telling him what to do... This was called bi-lateral talks for serious glory. They thus decided to conjoint their army hips in Iraq, then fight each other out with a bat and ball on the pitch. May the Kiwi defeat our glorious Pom, Tony.
yet another wreath...
Prince Harry will report for duty with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) after laying a wreath at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra on Monday.
The prince – known as Captain Harry Wales in the British army – will be embedded with several Australian army units and regiments in Sydney, Darwin and Perth during his four-week exchange, according to information released by the ADF.
His itinerary includes a trip from Australia to Turkey to attend commemorations marking the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing on 25 April.
Harry is due to begin his stint in Australia by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier alongside the governor general, Sir Peter Cosgrove, and other senior government officials.

foot soldier harry cost us $116,000...
The "proposal for expenditure" document lists the estimated total cost of the stay as $115,940.
That includes $10,000 for accommodation at the Robertson, Swanbourne and Holsworthy Barracks, $4000 for fuel for patrols in the Northern Territory and $1000 for water and Gatorade for "heat safety". There's $13,000 for travel and $1000 for rations.
There's also $500 for access to VIP rooms at Sydney and Perth airports.
But the biggest line item is $75,940 for "AME", which is believed to refer to Aero-Medical Evacuation aircraft that were on standby but never used.
The so-called "people's prince", who was known as Captain Harry Wales during his stay, is set to retire from the British Armed Forces in June after a decade of service, including two tours of Afghanistan.
During his stay he trained with Australia's elite special forces soldiers in Perth and went on NORFORCE patrols in the top end. He also visited the Australian War Memorial and met senior brass in Canberra.
If the Defence estimates prove accurate, taxpayers are getting off relatively easy this time. They were charged a whopping $150,000 for Prince Harry's two-night visit to Australia in 2013.
