On the day that 20 world leaders are crunching the future of this planet... two newspapers battle it out for your buck... Of course the Daily Telegraph plays it dumb... Brother. And there are people out there prepared to buy the waste of trees because of habit... The front page stinks. Meanwhile As Turdy digs his heels in sand as well as his head like an ostrich: British prime minister David Cameron has joined calls for Tony Abbott to do more to tackle climate change, saying “countries that have so far done the least have to think about what more they can do”. Cameron told Britain’s Sky News that every nation needed to “put more on the table” if the world was to reach a successful agreement in Paris next year on reducing greenhouse emissions after 2020. “Countries that have so far done the least have to think about what more they can do. I’ve had good and friendly discussions with prime minister Abbott about that,” he said, adding that even those unsure of climate science should regard action as a form of “insurance”. “I hope [Australia will] do everything they can in the coming months to look at what more they can deliver, because when it comes to Paris if we want to get a global agreement everyone is going to have to bring something to the table.”

harper harps on...
Vladimir Putin's press secretary says media reports that the Russian president plans to leave the G20 Leaders' Summit early are nonsense.
Last night, a source in Mr Putin's delegation in Australia said the Russian leader planned to leave the G20 summit early, after Western leaders blasted Moscow for the crisis in Ukraine and threatened more sanctions.
Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov denounced the reports that Mr Putin would leave the summit early on Sunday, telling the state Itar-Tass news agency the reports were complete nonsense.
He said Ukraine was a constant focus of negotiations and discussions at the summit were an ordinary and routine situation.
Russia denied it was involved in a recent escalation of military activity in Ukraine, where fighting has claimed more than 4,000 lives, but faced strong rebukes from Western leaders, including US president Barack Obama and Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper.

turdy is far crappier than billy who was crap but "honest"...
From Bob Ellis
It is certain Abbott will not survive, politically, his Brisbane weekend among the world’s leaders.
It is not certain when he will be overthrown. But there is no other probability, any more.
His whinge about his domestic troubles in his opening statement; his attempt, for months, to keep climate change off the agenda; his physical threat to Putin and his demand, in Beijing, that Putin give him blood money; his genial handshake with the Evil One, at last, in Brisbane; his weird joke that he was on a “unity ticket” with him; and his rallying cry on behalf of coal: these mistakes ‒ plus Hockey’s bizarre assertion that climate change and the economy were “not connected” ‒ have made him seem an innumerate and a diplomatic disaster, like Borat or Billy McMahon, and an embarrassment for us, his people.
Nothing much will happen to him before November 29.
But if, then, that night, Daniel Andrews’ victory is considerable, and Palmer gains control of the Upper House, it is possible he will fall in the following fortnight, and Bishop, Turnbull, Dutton, Robb or Hunt replace him.
It is no longer acceptable that he represent us, or speak for us, in the counsels of the world. He seems a whack-head, a sort of Loaded Dog, and too big a risk to our economy, and our security, in every direction.

widespread displeasure...
Rupert Murdoch's iron grip on his publishing empire is slipping after a massive revolt against the family's minority control of News Corp that appears to have included one of his key backers.
The voting of a large number of investors at News Corp's annual meeting revealed widespread displeasure for the company's structure, which disenfranchises most of its shareholders.
At the meeting a shareholder proposal to unwind the company's controversial dual-class voting structure was narrowly defeated by 79.1 million shares voted in favour to 87.6 million against.
The structure allows the Murdoch family to control around 40 per cent of the company's votes despite owning just 12 per cent of News Corp through its ownership of class B common stock, which holds the voting rights.
AdvertisementIt has allowed the Murdoch family to effectively control the company with a minority shareholding, leading to accusations it is run more like a family fiefdom than a coventional public company

But the major displeasure should be that of the public. The news from News Limited is very limiting indeed and SLANTED LIKE THE MOST DANGEROUS SKI SLOPE IN A SWISS ALP RESORT. In this horrible pseudo-information network, the awful ultra-right wing nutcases are lauded like the Sheriff of Nottingham, while the hero of the people, Robin Hood, is thrown in the ditch...
