Mining magnate Clive Palmer bragged about his life size replica dinosaur being an attraction at the prestigious PGA Championships Golf event on the same day a Sunshine Coast councillor voiced concerns about the billionaire's "tacky" plans.
Mr Palmer has previously announced plans to build 150 robotic dinosaurs at his Palmer Coolum Resort and has already erected a life size T-Rex he has nicknamed "Jeff", widely interpreted as a dig at Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney though Mr Palmer denies it.
The resort plays host to the Australian PGA Championship from December 13 and more than 36,000 spectators are expected at the grounds.

dino-golf park
IT has been branded tacky and bizarre, but Queensland mining magnate Clive Palmer says PGA fans are going to love watching elite golfers tee off next to a giant robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The eight-metre beast has already been erected at his Coolum Resort and the eccentric billionaire wants to bring in another 149 to create the world's biggest dinosaur park.

I like Palmer... At least he stays clear of the BIG pineapples...
jurassic golf for old fossils...
Billionaire businessman Clive Palmer intends to push ahead with plans to erect 150 life-size dinosaurs at his resort on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Mr Palmer has installed an almost nine-metre high animatronics Tyrannosaurus rex at his five-star resort at Coolum and he eventually wants 150 models erected.
However, Sunshine Coast councillor Russell Green said yesterday Mr Palmer would need planning permission to display more than four.
Councillor Green likened the plan to a scene from golfing comedy movie Happy Gilmore, describing Mr Palmer's plans as bizarre and tacky.
"To turn it into you know a version of Looney Tunes - I just think that's not the right direction for the property," he said.
But Mr Palmer says Councillor Green is ill-informed.
"Poor old Russell hasn't been there to see it," Mr Palmer said.
"There's no dinosaurs on any golf course at all and he should come out and have a look.
"Of course it will be in the greatest condition of quality because international people will be renowned for coming to see a real serious effort - a scientific effort that our children can live by and the Coast will be promoted.
"So, before your comment Russell, come and have a look at it."

more educational than pello-mello... and unusual obstacles in the sand traps...
trouble in paradise...
Mining magnate Clive Palmer has launched another extraordinary attack on the Queensland Government after quitting the LNP, likening the Premier to a dictator.
Mr Palmer's attack on the Government today ranged from claims of nepotism and cover-ups to a lack of accountability and having no regard for Liberal National Party policies.
He resigned from the party last night ahead of today's executive meeting which was going to consider expelling him.
Mr Palmer had previously been suspended for openly criticising the party's parliamentary leaders.
The mining magnate says he still supports the LNP's policies, but labelled the Government as "arrogant and crooked".
He also criticised Premier Campbell Newman for seeking automatic pre-selection for sitting members, saying "it's a toss up between Caesar and Idi Amin."

another liberal (conservative) conspiracy?....
Mining magnate Clive Palmer says he has evidence members of the Queensland Government and public servants conspired to have him jailed and confiscate his assets.
Mr Palmer made the claims at a brief press conference in Brisbane today.
"Around about three weeks ago we got evidence put to us, that I didn't believe to be true, that people within the Government and senior figures within the public service were conspiring to put me in jail, and to confiscate all the assets I have," he said.
"I naturally enough at the time didn't put any credence on this matter.
"However over the last two to three weeks substantial evidence has been put forward, and I am satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that there is no doubt this is true."
"I can say some of the logic was that it's important that you shut Clive up, that he's not a member of parliament, he doesn't have commercial interests in Queensland ... and we've got to do something to make sure that he's not a political problem so that we can go forward with our agenda.

Hey! Palmee!!!... what do expect from Liberals (conservatives) nogs, State or Federal?.....
a sense of humour...
Queensland billionaire Clive Palmer has backed away from forming a new political party.
The mining magnate floated the idea after he quit the Liberal National Party (LNP) in November.
Mr Palmer says polling shows a new party is not viable.
"It seems as though if there was a new political party by me, it would only have the support of around 34 per cent of Australians," he said.
"So that's certainly not enough in my view.
