More sins of spin from grim duo By Richard Ackland

THE marketing of the, or should that now be "a", specific terrorism threat by the Prime Minister has been way too neat. It connects directly to the marketing of other great national security stunts and the hushing of objection.

After the kiddies went overboard and the weapons of mass distraction were brandished in our face can we ever be forgiven for being a mite disdainful of claims of the further imminent horror?

Philip Ruddock was wearing his most sepulchral look for the announcement of the urgent need for changing "the" to "a" in...

Spinmeisters' intent

From Is it seditious to want the defeat of liars?

... Many clerics will say: "Allahumma Insur Al Mu'mininal Mujahideena fi kulli makan." In English, "God, give victory to the faithful believers who strive in every place."

But if the Government's spinmeisters were to translate it, it would read: "O Allah, give victory to the faithful Mujahideen everywhere."

To make the prayer politically correct, and actually present it in its true spirit, it would read thus, "O God, we implore you to give victory to the just and truthful." To stir the pot, I would add, "and defeat the unjust liars". Amen!
