go figure...THE Opposition Leader was without doubt the standout performer of the year. Put aside your opinion of his (lack of) policies and his negative tactics. Indeed, put aside his poor personal ratings, too. Abbott can single-handedly take credit for the pressure the government is under. Despite coming heartbreakingly close to winning the 2010 election, he continued to work every day to expose government failings. So good has Abbott been, it's hard to distinguish between opposition spin and how Labor is really travelling. Can he keep it up for another two years? (see critique of this crap below) For half a second I thought Peter Van Onselen was JOKING... But then I realise I was not reading the Sun-Herald but had grabbed the SUNDAY TELEGRAPH by mistake... The ST is a Murdoch run newspaper — where people are possibly employed for their glorious ability and dogginess to bash Labor and Promote Tony Abbott — the Tonicchio puppet made of that kind of drift-wood with which we uselessly try to unblock dunnies. Of course, Tony Abbott was the deserved recipient of the annoying whinger of the year award, handed out by Mike Carton...

worth 4 points...
From Peter Van Onselen
Dishonourable mentions: Peter Slipper (for betraying his party), Mary Jo Fisher (for her court dramas)

Com'on Peter Van O?... Betraying the "liberal" party? He was barely kept as a seat-warmer cushion by his Liberal (conservative) colleagues who were about to shaft him in the proverbials to give the seat to another Liberal (conservative), Mal Brough... Peter Slipper was dead-meat in his own party... He jumped before they could "kill" him... This is worth at least 4 points... No?
