the fabulous hollowman .....Well folks, here we have it .... the nation's number one scumbag, 'phoney tony', giving himself a boost for single-handedly orchestrating the demise of citizen Kevin Rudd, whilst arrogantly making the empty boast that 'the coalition would have defeated Labor at the next election'. Now I'm not going to try & argue that Abbott's outrageous public hyperbole; his outright lies about the Labor government .... indeed his own acknowledgement that he can't lie straight in bed ..... don't form part of what we have come to accept in this country as a normal part of politics. I want to focus on Tony Abbott's performance as Leader of the 'Loyal Opposition' & how well he has delivered on his responsibilities. So what is the role of the Leader of the Opposition? For those who don't know, the role of Leader of the Opposition isn't simply to oppose or block the elected government's legislative program, or to find ways to undermine or frustrate the government's programs, even though it seems to me that this is pretty-well all that phoney tony & his vacuous acolytes have done or ever do. Certainly one of the main functions of the opposition is to scrutinize the operations of the government, exercising the oversight of the implementation of the law from the angle of performance & accountability, especially from a financial perspective. But this activity shouldn't just be undertaken from a perspective of criticising the efficiency or efficacy of government policies or programs, but also to demonstrate how the Opposition, as the 'government in waiting', might have achieved better results. Importantly, it must be accepted that the government is elected to govern & that the opposition's role is constructive criticism & keeping alternative policies in view. Which brings me to the hollowman's contribution .... Today we had the wide-mouthed lizard publicly salivating over the claim that old 'rattus' howard had called him last Wednesday night to congratulate him for having brought down Kevin Rudd. ''He said you have done the greatest thing an opposition leader can - you have secured the collapse of a prime minister,'' he told a meeting of the federal council of the Liberal Party yesterday. ''We know we were going to beat him because he was executed by the powerbrokers.'' He said the Coalition could ''do it again'', even though it now faced a resurgent government headed by Julia Gillard. So, here we have it: the substance of phoney tony bared for all to see .... hollow; empty, devoid of substance .... all show & no pony. As for his much vaunted contribution to the nation's future, hollowman proceeded to unveil the Oppositions' 12-step ''action contract'', which contains all the policy substance of a discarded McDonalds Big Mack. This cheap crook has nothing to offer our country other than meanness, misery, division & small mindedness .... all dressed-up & no-where to go. That rattus rang this creature & offered his congratulations is clear enough evidence of what he stands for & hopefully the people of this country expect better than that.
