the good scientologists .....
Last week, officials "at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, acting at the direction of the Archdiocese of Denver," decided to not re-enroll two unnamed children because their parents were lesbians. Following fierce protests of the decision, the Archbishop of Denver has written an op-ed where he says the Church "does not claim" that the children of lesbians "are less loved by God," yet he stands by his decision because the Church "does teach...that sexual intimacy by anyone outside of marriage is wrong". "The Church does not claim that people with a homosexual orientation are 'bad,' or that their children are less loved by God," wrote Archbishop Charles J. Chaput in an article to be published in Thursday's edition of the Denver Catholic Register. "Quite the opposite: but what the Church does teach is that sexual intimacy by anyone outside marriage is wrong; that marriage is a sacramental covenant; and that marriage can only occur between a man and a woman." He added people with a different understanding of marriage and family life "have other, excellent options for education and should see in them the better course for their children." "What if this little girl had divorced parents? What if she was born out of wedlock? What if her father cheated on her mother? Would she still be banned from kindergarten?" writes ParentDish's Tom Henderson. "Somehow, I doubt it." http://thinkprogress.org/2010/03/10/archidiocese-denver-catholic-lesbians/
