This week, with Rudd's ignorant criticism of Keating's remarks on Gallipoli nine days ago still rankling - Rudd had responded to a crass question on radio without knowing, first hand, a single word of what Keating had actually said in a 3000-word speech at a book launch - Keating remarked: "Kevin is all about acclaim, and if he doesn't watch himself he's going to find a very smart opponent right up his arse. Turnbull is no dope."
