alarum, alarum .....
from the ABC ….. Education Minister dismisses Labor's degree plan The Federal Government has dismissed as a waste of money a Labor proposal for HECS incentives to attract students to maths and science courses. Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd says a Labor government would halve HECS fees for science and maths students and offer additional incentives to those who work in relevant areas, particularly teaching. "We've got to do something practical and the best practical thing you can do is to help people with their hip pocket," he said. Gus: Of course the government has dismissed the Labor proposal, as it obviously breaches the government’s fundamental commitment to only provide incentives to its real stakeholders: big business. When will Labor & millions of ordinary Orstralyens learn that their rightful role on our drought-swept sheep station is to meekly pay ever-increasing levels of taxes, charges & prices to government & its favoured mates, whilst being eternally grateful for that privilege & the occasional receipt of very small amounts of their own change, selectively pitched their way by passing political brigands at election time? Anyway, who decided that ordinary Orstralyens needed a tertiary education? Why would anyone with half a brain commit to buying a $100,000 + albatross, when all it will guarantee for its owner is permanent status as a cowed, serf-for-hire member of our newly emerged casualised workforce? A real johnnee incentive indeed ….. loser pays!
