You have been job matched

You’ve been ‘Job-Matched’

Somehow or other you find a small a job,

whatever is going, but pays a few bob.

You’re a piece in the puzzle, a cog in the machine,

it not what you wanted, but life’s not a dream.

You’re paying the bills and feeding the dog

but something is missing you can’t say just what.

Because you’re so bendy and flexible too

the round hole you fit in is square but it’s you.

There’s a deep gnawing feeling that something’s not right,

something you’ve missed, there’s no spark and no light.

Where is that contract I signed for this life?

What was I thinking, what was the plan, were there some wordy clauses I did not understand?

I’m sinking, I’ am sinking in a pit of despair, there’s a big ugly monster down in that lair.

Where are my pills, I need a repair.

I’m dead and I’m empty, a zombie with bite

The worlds emptied of feeling, its all the same day and night

I’m going cold turkey; it’s the day after Christmas

But the families gone, there’s just me and me Mrs

But she’s taken off now, another woman it seems

She took all the kiddies, she took all me green

A girl and a girl, that’s obscene.

I’m not even invited, to lick off the cream

There’s no one, there’s no one, I seem all alone.

I could link up with lifeline, on my cell phone.

But their selling it off, the call is engaged

The line is still busy while I rattle my cage.

Who is the person, who is the one, that’s keeping it busy, I’m not having fun.

I hear a small whisper, an echo, a noise, the devils the one who’s holding my toys.

Praise Jesus, Praise Jesus I’ve now found the light,

my dreams are more peaceful, I now sleep at night.

Praise Jesus Praise Jesus I’ve now found the answer,

a miracle cure which fixes the cancer.

I don’t have to worry, thinking’s a chore, I just hand over money, and sit in the stalls.

Life’s’ so much simpler when you don’t have to care, for people around you I’m saved. So there!

There’s a prophesy going that someone will come

He’s got the answer, he’s god and his son.

There’s a spirit that follows, so ghostly and white

And united together they’ll end this shit fight

One way or another we all will be judged,

I just hope he arrives here before golf at the club.

He’ll be just a man, he’ll save all our souls

The dead will be risen, we’ll kick all our goals

But the funeral pyre of my dearest mother

Sowed in me some doubt, isn’t there something other

A rising suspicion aroused by a cat, its seems the poor moggy was curious, a rat.

It was all nonsense you told me a fib

You just wanted my moula, like taking a lollipop from a kid

I had trust in salvation, now I have given up faith

I’m going to spend my Sundays have’n a beer with my mates

There must be an answer to this great big mess

But what it could be I don’t know, I confess

It’s a fine old horizon on which I must bet

Now I’m just waiting for my next TV set.

I’m sure there’s an answer, there must be a clue

But what is the question, I don’t know, do you?

Someone will find it, it can’t be that hard

We now have the crystal, so where’s the chard?

I started to contemplate one truth at a time,

I studied them carefully, I emptied my mind.

I had been wandering previous, without a grasp

Now there’s only 1 journey and only 8 paths

You don’t get a manual for this big old brain

If I could read the instructions, I wouldn’t complain.

But the truth of existence is not written down

It’s running your heart, its making a sound

It’s not all that loud, so listen in close

Love thee thy neighbour, raise them a toast

It’s all in our nature to wanna to eat pud

That’s where the proof is, survival is good.
