will your children come homeJust think of the young people now who work in professional areas like nurses, doctors, pharmacists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, etc. Most of who receive penalty rates. Over seas they can now earn more money than in Australia. Eg. I have been told about figures like 70 ths pound, in areas that we pay 70 th dollars,. for allied health workers , doctors and all the above. If the penalty rates go they then will earn less at home. Also will your children be able to pay their mortgage? Some rely on the penalty rates just to get by, so its back to-work for your daughter and guess who is going to miss the golf etc grandma because there is no childcare places and also they cost money. These are all the things that worry me, as a parent and a grandparent they should worry you too. We are now very short of doctors and and allied health workers. I know of a case where a pharmacist in Australia could only take two hours off from work in a private pharmacy because there was no one to cover her, so she could attend a family funeral. I don't think the average Australian realises that we do not even have enough allied workers to cover the hospitals let alone the private sector. Didn't someone in the government once say if you pay peanuts you get poor politicians? Well doesn't that apply to all walks of life? If not, why? The country is economically sound. Why change it? |
