the ethnic cleansing of palestine.......

Acclaimed journalist and filmmaker John Pilger discussed the changes that have come over Palestine since the making of his film Palestine Is Still the Issue, released in 1974 and updated in 2002.

A screening of the full documentary is shown before the discussion.  Pilger gave Consortium News permission to show the entire film, which is on johnpilger.com, and he then appeared on the show for an hour in July 2021 to talk about it.

sports......

The last week in September saw the much delayed (due to Covid) opening of the 19th Asian Games. This event which is held on a four-year cycle involves participants from 45 nations, and perhaps unsurprisingly given the enormous populations in this part of the world sees a larger number of athletes taking part than even the Olympics.

The biggest sporting event the West has never heard of

as time goes by.......

Sixteen people — 12 Republicans, two Democrats and two independent candidates — are running for president in 2024. But most of them are laboring under the shadow of the same two men who faced off in 2020: President Biden and former President Donald J. Trump.

pickandpickandcollegram.....

US President Joe Biden has been interviewed as part of a probe into his handling of classified documents after he left the vice-presidency in 2017.

Mr Biden met voluntarily with Special Counsel Robert Hur at the White House over two days, officials said.

the mental state battle in the streets.....

The Channel-billed Cuckoo is the largest parasitic cuckoo in the world.

The Channel-billed Cuckoo migrates to northern and eastern Australia from New Guinea and Indonesia between August and October each year. The birds leave Australia in February or March. The Channel-billed Cuckoo is found in tall open forests, usually where host species occur.

These days, the Channel-billed Cuckoo is not afraid of coming to human town... A few days ago, there was a battle raging in the street… A Channel-billed Cuckoo had intruded on a nest of a Currawong in a Eucalypt tree branch above the road. Five or six Currawong were attacking the intruder — defending their patch and the nest of the local.

Currawongs are big bird, about the size of an Australian crow — bigger than magpies. The Channel-billed Cuckoo is nearly twice the size of a Currawong.

violence vs violence....

The indiscriminate shootings of Israelis by Hamas and other Palestinian resistance organizations, the kidnapping of civilians, the barrage of rockets into Israel, drone attacks on a variety of targets from tanks to automated machine gun nests, are the familiar language of the Israeli occupier. Israel has spoken this blood-soaked language of violence to the Palestinians since Zionist militias seized more than 78 percent of historic Palestine, destroyed some 530 Palestinian villages and cities and killed about 15,000 Palestinians in more than 70 massacres. Some 750,000 Palestinians were ethnically cleansed between 1947 and 1949 to create the state of Israel in 1948.

weapon of choice is a free friendly one...

Throughout recent history, the perceived weapon of choice for a terrorist (or freedom fighter, depending on one’s perspective) has been an AK-47 assault rifle. Today, in the aftermath of the so-called post-9/11 “global war on terror,” it’s not uncommon to see such fighters with a Glock 9mm pistol, or a Colt M4 carbine.

These are weapons paid-for by the US taxpayer and ostensibly provided to forces joined in the cause of defeating terrorists and/or freedom fighters (again, depending on the political beliefs of the observer), but that end up in the hands of the latter instead. Obviously, that is never the outcome Washington intends. And yet, somehow, these weapons end up arming the very forces the US and its allies are trying to defeat.

democracy in the hands of these media beasts is mind-numbing while you remember fallujah....

In a recent CNN interview of US presidential candidate Cornel West, former CIA intern Anderson Cooper argued that the US invasion of Iraq was morally superior to the Russian attack on the city of Grozny.

the dangerous neocons....

An open letter released Wednesday signed by more than 100 veterans of the George W. Bush and Donald Trump administrations, ex-military officers, and former Republican lawmakers and activists called for fellow conservatives and congressional Republicans to support increased military aid to Ukraine and criticized President Biden for “seem[ing] more concerned about the prospects of a Russian defeat than of a Russian victory.”

the undemocratic general milley.......

One of the evils of the Trump era was that illegal, immoral, and at times unconstitutional acts were raised to high standards if they seemed to chip away at Trump somehow. So a fake dossier, which consumed several years and millions of dollars of American life, was brushed off with a fine from the elections commission rather than someone going to jail for lying to the FBI. So it is now up to General Mark Milley, the Left's newest and bestest friend in violating the Constitution, to save the Constitution from Trump.

intercepted whistleblowers.....

A popular democratic leader in a developing country refuses to side with the United States against Russia. In response, the U.S. pressures officials behind the scenes to have that leader removed, effectively returning the military and its allies to power.

This may sound like a Cold War history lesson, but it happened just last year — and most of the corporate media in the United States ignored it. [MOST OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA NEWS COVERED IT — we did]

The Intercept has obtained secret documents that reveal how the Biden administration pushed for the overthrow of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan — and then used the promise of a desperately needed International Monetary Fund bailout to ensure the continued flow of Pakistani weapons to Ukraine.

a short history of nazi crimes.....

In 1954, Lord Russell of Liverpool, the Deputy Judge Advocate-General of the British Army of the Rhine, and legal adviser in the Nuremberg and Tokyo Trials wrote his famous book, “The Scourge of the Swastika, A Short History of Nazi War Crimes”.  The British government tried to stop its publication, but failed, and it became a bestseller.

It needs to be read again apparently, since we have witnessed some days ago the Canadian parliament, the seat of democracy of a nation that fought against the Nazis in WWII, and which suffered heavy losses doing so, and which was an ally of the Soviet Union, cheering and applauding a Waffen-SS soldier whose unit, committed unspeakable crimes against civilians in the Nazi occupied territories of the Soviet Union, particularly Ukraine, but also in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. They applauded in unison and with enthusiasm.

it's a no-brainer: vote YES........

We need an Indigenous Voice to parliament. We need any other voice that will offset the disastrous self-serving notions of the present fools that govern this country. We are all living under the shadows of the illusions of the colonised mind.

There are many discussions bubbling along under the surface of Australian society today: the UN’s final warning to act on climate change, issues of representation and the sovereignty of First Nations People, lack of social housing, failures in aged care, robodebt, offshore detention… But there are commonalities to these problems; they are created by sneaky, pathetic governance. How can we connect through the intersectionality of our suffering and work together to promote genuine change?

cool prez tries to find another 100 billion for corrupt zelenskaka.......

The Biden administration is looking for “creative” ways to secure further military aid for Ukraine amid mounting opposition at home, POLITICO has reported. Meanwhile, Britain’s Telegraph newspaper claimed that the White House is considering the possibility of a mega aid package to the tune of $100 billion.

In its article on Friday, POLITICO quoted President Joe Biden hinting on Wednesday that “there is another means by which we may be able to find funding” for Kiev. According to the media outlet, the US leadership is considering using the State Department’s foreign military financing program. Under this, grants or loans are provided to partner countries to purchase weapons and defense equipment.

the war on drugs or the drug wars.....

The first visit to China by a US congressional delegation since 2019 has begun with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer claiming that Chinese businesses are to blame for America’s epidemic of opioid addictions and overdose deaths.

Chinese firms are “fueling the fentanyl crisis that is poisoning communities across the United States,” Schumer said after arriving in Shanghai on Saturday. “Every one of us knows families who have lost young men and women to fentanyl.”The New York Democrat stressed that it’s businesses – not China’s government – that are supplying ingredients for production of fentanyl and other opioids in Mexico.
