On November 26, 2024, Arla Foods, the U.K.'s largest dairy provider, launched an initiative with retailers Morrisons, Tesco, and Aldi to reduce methane emissions from cows. 

The initiative seeks to introduce Bovaer, a feed additive, to dairy cow feeding routines to reduce farming's climate impact. 

Bovaer achieves this by suppressing the enzyme in a cow's stomach that produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. This results in reduced emissions.

Until a few weeks ago, the skies over Syria seemed deceptively cloudless. That illusion shattered on 27 November when the armed group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) launched a sudden offensive on Aleppo.

By last Monday, they had seized the city. Three days later, the official Syrian army abandoned the strategic city of Hama. In the south and southeast, dormant rebel cells rose up, striking a final blow against Assad’s hollowed-out regime. On Sunday, opposition forces stormed Damascus from several directions. Bashar al-Assad, whose regime withstood over a decade of civil war, finally fell from power.

Western democracy is dead and the only thing left is to offer condolences, according to RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan. She was commenting on the cancelation of the results of the presidential election in Romania, in which independent candidate Calin Georgescu, a NATO and EU critic and a staunch opponent of aiding Ukraine, won the first-round vote.

Ahead of the second round, which had been due to take place on Sunday, Romania’s Constitutional Court annulled Georgescu’s victory, declaring that the entire election would be re-run at a later date.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - US President-Elect Donald Trump has said that he is developing a concept to put an end to the "ridiculous" conflict in Ukraine.

"I’m formulating a concept of how to end that ridiculous war," Trump told The New York Post.

Trump previously said that if he had been the US president instead of Joe Biden, the conflict in Ukraine would never have started. He also emphasized that if re-elected, he intends to achieve a settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in just 24 hours. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Trump's words, called the conflict too complex a problem to be solved in one day.

Outgoing US President Joe Biden has claimed credit for the fall of Damascus to a coalition of armed groups, including jihadists from Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham (HTS). Washington had weakened the supporters of former Syrian President Bashar Assad, the American leader has said.

A truly seismic change in the Middle East appears to be happening very fast. At its heart is a devil’s bargain – Turkey and the Gulf States accept the annihilation of the Palestinian nation and creation of a Greater Israel, in return for the annihilation of the Shia minorities of Syria and Lebanon and the imposition of Salafism across the Eastern Arab world.

This also spells the end for Lebanon and Syria’s Christian communities, as witness the tearing down of all Christmas decorations, the smashing of all alcohol and the forced imposition of the veil on women in Aleppo now.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has rejected a call by US President-elect Donald Trump for an immediate truce and peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Following a meeting between Trump, Zelensky, and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Saturday, the president-elect issued a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform saying, “there should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations should begin” to settle the Ukraine conflict. According to Trump, Ukraine “would like to make a deal and stop the madness.”

However, Zelensky made it clear that this is not the case in an even longer post published on X on Sunday, in which he said the conflict “cannot simply end with a piece of paper and a few signatures.”

US Senator Tom Cotton has introduced a Senate bill that seeks to eliminate the federal use of the term “West Bank” and instead implement the use of “Judea and Samaria”, claiming the terminology aligns with Israel’s historical and biblical claims to the territory. 

Judea and Samaria is the Israeli term for the occupied West Bank.

The proposed legislation mirrors a House bill introduced earlier this year by Representatives Claudia Tenney, Randy Weber, and Anthony D’Esposito.

If enacted, the measure would remove all references to “West Bank” from US government documents, replacing them with the biblical name.
