at the nut house...

at the nut house 02

turdy tony's nut job is expensive.

Australia’s military involvement in Iraq is likely to cost half a billion dollars each year, Tony Abbott has revealed, as he confirmed some personnel had already left for the Middle East.

The prime minister said Australian special forces deployed to the region would be armed, but based in Iraqi and Kurdish military headquarters in an advisory role rather than directly fighting in the field against Islamic State (Isis) militants.

Abbott defended Australia’s decision to help transport weapons and other military equipment to the Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in northern Iraq, after reports that the Peshmerga were working closely with the PKK, which is designated by Australia as a terrorist organisation.

perfume of war...

Most voters approve of the way Tony Abbott is managing “relations with other countries” but disapprove of his government’s handling of almost everything else, according to a new opinion poll that shows Labor retaining a convincing lead.

With international military action against Isis and the Malaysian air disasters dominating the news, 39% of those surveyed by Essential Media rated the government’s handling of “relations with other countries” as good and 24% as poor, resulting in a net rating of +15% – a substantial improvement from its -3% net rating in February (28% said its performance was average).

But voters delivered net negative ratings for the government’s handling of every other issue, with big slumps in how the electorate viewed the Coalition’s performance on climate change (net -27%), health services (-27%), social welfare (-26%) and education and schools (-26%).

The government’s rating has deteriorated significantly since February on each of these issues.

And voters’ views of how well the government is managing the economy also fell from a net rating of +3% in February to -6%.

War is a deceitful way to improve ratings...

weird divide....

At least in the US, both houses of senators and representatives have to approve war. In Australia, the little Turd-Napoleon decided and we can say nothing. Tony is an idiotic idiot... Tautology beckons.

The House on Wednesday approved President Obama’s plan to train and equip moderate Syrian rebels to counter the growing threat of the Islamic State terrorist organization even though lawmakers in both parties remain deeply skeptical about its chances for success.

The vote placed Congress one step closer to authorizing the third U.S. military operation in Iraq in the last quarter century, and also put lawmakers on record approving U.S. engagement in the years-long Syrian civil war. It delivered Obama much-needed domestic political support as he seeks an international coalition to combat the growing threat of Islamist terrorism in the Middle East.

But the tally — 273 to 156 — also revealed widespread misgivings in both parties about the plan’s chances of success, even among lawmakers who voted in favor of it.

Obama’s proposal was opposed by more than 40 percent of Democrats...

Media reporting got way ahead of the facts...

The 17 people detained in the counter-terrorism raids last week and this week in Australia account for fewer than half the total number under close ASIO monitoring, according to sources involved in the effort.

The courts ultimately will decide how many of them have broken the law. But already it's clear that the revival of the threat posed by the Islamist-terror complex will be upon us for years. The number of people under surveillance, and the fact that the coalition military operation against the barbarians in Iraq has yet to begin, should signal that this phenomenon has far to run.

In the meantime, half-truths, hyperventilation and hyperbole run amok. On one hand, fear-mongering magnifies a real threat. We know that one of the terrorist suspects was planning to snatch an unsuspecting member in Martin Place, behead him while filming and post it to YouTube, right?

Not according to the acting commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, Andrew Colvin. Asked about this on ABC TV, he replied: "Look, I think what we need to do is understand that the plot was about violence against members of the public. Now, how that was actually going to manifest itself, we're not 100 per cent sure."

So we don't actually know it at all. Media reporting got way ahead of the facts.

Colvin, remarkably, then went on to invite us to use our imaginations: "Beheadings, obviously, is something that we're concerned about, but we shouldn't narrow our thinking just to beheadings… You could think about shootings or knife attacks - a range of things. That's why we just - we don't want to narrow down our - the range of possibilities too much just at the moment."

Is this to be the new evidentiary standard of federal law enforcement? "You could think about…"?

The prime minister properly assured us not to change our behaviour in response to the threat of terrorism, but then went on to give us a good old scare anyway: "It is a serious situation when all you need to carry out a terrorist attack is to have a knife, an iPhone and a victim."

If you weren't feeling apprehensive before listening to Tony Abbott, there's a much higher chance you were after listening to him.

Which media reporting got way ahead of the facts?... you've guessed it... It's the same one with a heading this morning (20/11/14) "CAGE THE COWARDS"... The merde-och outfit leads the pack... And yes you are allowed to feel apprehensive about Abbott's sanity.

it has nothing to do with counter-terrorism...

Tougher security measures have been introduced at Parliament House in Canberra as MPs and senators arrive for the resumption of sittings.

Tighter security was ordered by the Prime Minister Tony Abbott after intelligence agencies picked up increased chatter about potential threats to the building and to Government figures.

In a pre-recorded video statement released on the weekend, Mr Abbott said he would make a national security statement to the Parliament today.

"This statement will update the Parliament on developments at home and abroad, and on how Australia is responding to the threat of terrorism," he said.

"Also this week, the Government will introduce into Parliament new counter-terrorism measures that will strengthen our counter-terrorism preparedness.

Preparedness?... fucup that!

All this grand standing by Tony the Turd, the phoney amateur PM of Australia, is designed to prevent protest in the style which he was so fond of participating in especially in front of signs that told of "Juliar — Brown's bitch" or such... Of course people should go and protest in front of Parliament to show their discontent, but the turd is clever. Under new stupid laws which are not passed yet, he wants to excludes our rights, which he enjoyed so much under Julia Gillard.

Did I say that Tony the Turd was a hypocrite and an idiot?... There.

And the media lap it up verbatim like a cat from a bowl of milk.. Idiots.

hitler's polls bounce back after raids on muslims...

Tony Abbott has recorded a six-point bounce in his personal approval rating after a fortnight dominated by terrorism and security issues, the latest Newspoll survey shows.

The proportion of Newspoll respondents who were satisfied with the prime minister’s performance rose six points to 41%, the highest level since November last year, while dissatisfaction declined two points to 52%.

This leaves Abbott with a net satisfaction score of minus 11.

The results, published in the Australian on Tuesday, indicated the Coalition government’s primary vote had risen two points in the previous fortnight to 41%, Labor’s had fallen one point to 34%, and support for the Greens had declined three points to 11%
